A novel miniature microwave system designed for rapid bacterial disinfection is introduced. Operating within safe microwave exposure levels, this system achieved a three-log reduction in Staphylococcus and a five-log reduction in Escherichia coli populations on laboratory glass surfaces in less than 4 minutes. The technical capabilities of this system demonstrate potential for addressing bacterial contamination in deep wounds, such as diabetic foot ulcers. Its efficiency in significantly reducing bacterial colonies suggests promising prospects for clinical applications.
