INTRODUCTION: Health workers in the various fields of medicine such as physicians, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists are exposed daily to difficult moral and ethical situations. The ten commandments preceded their time by establishing and setting guidelines to these daily dilemmas. Teaching these basic rules and their implementation in the daily practice, should already be initiated at the start of the medical education. They are important basic addendum to the armamentarium of knowledge and skills of the medical students. The aim of this manuscript is to review these commandments in lieu of current medical activities, and discuss their application in various medical fields.
