      Basilar artery aneurysms account for approximately 5% of all intracranial aneurysms. This bibliometric analysis summarizes the most-cited articles on basilar artery aneurysms and highlights the contributing articles to today's evidence-based practice. In the execution of this bibliometric-based review article, the Scopus database was used to perform a title-specific, keyword-based search for all publications until August 2022. The keyword "basilar artery aneurysm" or "basilar aneurysm" was used. Our results were arranged in descending order based on the article's citation count. The 100 most cited articles were selected for analysis. Parameters included the following: title, citation count, citations per year, authors, specialty of first author, institution, country of origin, publishing journal, Source Normalized Impact Per Paper (SNIP), and Hirsch index. The keyword-based search showed that 699 articles were published between 1888 and 2022. The top 100 articles were published between 1961 and 2019. The top 100 most cited articles collected a total of 8869 citations with an average of 89 citations per paper. The rate of self-citations accounted for an average of 4.85% of the total number of citations. The bibliometric analysis provides a quantitative overview of how medical topics and interventions are analyzed in academic medicine. In the present study, we evaluated the global trends in basilar artery aneurysms by finding the top 100 most cited papers.

       BACKGROUND: A host of experts have shown interest in the digital flexor tendon. However, few have conducted a bibliometric analysis of this field.
    PURPOSE: This study aimed to carry out comprehensive and practical research on the academic status and the development trend in this area.
    METHODS: All papers regarding digital flexor tendons announced from 1991 to 2022 were retrieved and downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace was utilized to analyze the information on publication output, journals, authors, countries, institutions and keywords.
    RESULTS: A total of 3,100 publications met the inclusion criteria, which were made up of articles and reviews. The publications and cite frequency increased rapidly per year (t = 10.652, P<0.001; t = 19.716, P<0.001). Journal of Hand surgery American Volume had the largest number of studies (307 publications). Amadio PC was identified as the most prolific author, and Dyson SJ (336 citations) was the most cited author. The United States had the highest publications (35.39%), followed by England. Though Australia ranked tenth, which had the greatest impact (centrality = 0.43). This study collected 20 clusters and 25 citation bursts on the basis of keywords.
    CONCLUSION: This study recommends that international cooperation and linkages among authors, countries and institutions should be strengthened. Ultrasound, tenosynovitis, platelet-rich plasma, and 3-loop pulley suture have been the focus of current research. The surgical and non-surgical treatment of digital flexor tendon injury would be future frontiers.

       Background: The most prevalent cancer and the second-leading cause of cancer-related mortality in women is breast cancer. Growing interest has been shown in recent years in learning more about the processes behind the development of breast cancer. It has been shown that persistent inflammation may play a significant role in the advancement of breast cancer. However, a comprehensive and objective analysis on the state of inflammation in breast cancer research is still lacking. This study was aim to undertake a bibliometric analysis of breast cancer research associated with inflammation between 2013 and 2022 in order to identify the trends, dynamics, and scientific outputs in the field.
    Methods: From 2013 to 2022, original and review publications on breast cancer and inflammation-associated research were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. To examine the position of yearly publications, journals, nations, institutions, and authors, we employed two bibliometric tools (CiteSpace and VOSviewer). After that, by examining keyword visualization and keyword bursts, we determined the hot research fields related to inflammation in breast cancer.
    Results: we discovered 6902 publications regarding inflammation in breast cancer by using our retrieval approach. In terms of the number of publications, The United States ranked first in the global study, followed by China and Italy. In terms of institutions, the University of Texas System, UT MD Anderson Cancer Center, and University of California System are in the top 3 for the quantity of publications published. The most popular journal for this field research is "CANCERS." Ueno NT, Woodward WA, Cristofanilli M, and others have made significant contributions to the understanding of inflammation in breast cancer. In the end, we conducted a biclustering analysis on keywords and discovered three clusters that represent research hotspots.
    Conclusion: According to the global trend, the research output of inflammation in breast cancer is increasing. The information provided in this article, including the cooperation network information of authors, nations, journals, and institutions, may help researchers to better understand hotspots and developing patterns in this discipline. At present, the focus of study gradually shifts from "phenotype study" to "therapeutic research". It is recommended to pay attention to the latest hot spots, such as targeted therapy, antimicrobial activity and nanoparticle.

       Background and Aims: One such strategy is citation analysis used by researchers for research planning an article referred to by another article receives a "citation." By using bibliometric analysis, the development of research areas and authors' influence can be investigated. The current study aimed to identify and analyze the characteristics of 100 highly cited articles on the use of artificial intelligence concerning COVID-19.
    Methods: On July 27, 2022, this database was searched using the keywords "artificial intelligence" and "COVID-19" in the topic. After extensive searching, all retrieved articles were sorted by the number of citations, and 100 highly cited articles were included based on the number of citations. The following data were extracted: year of publication, type of study, name of journal, country, number of citations, language, and keywords.
    Results: The average number of citations for 100 highly cited articles was 138.54. The top three cited articles with 745, 596, and 549 citations. The top 100 articles were all in English and were published in 2020 and 2021. China was the most prolific country with 19 articles, followed by the United States with 15 articles and India with 10 articles.
    Conclusion: The current bibliometric analysis demonstrated the significant growth of the use of artificial intelligence for COVID-19. Using these results, research priorities are more clearly defined, and researchers can focus on hot topics.

       Background: To guide and provide orientation to research on student suicide, this study aimed to analyze the research status on student suicide with the help of bibliometric analysis. Utilising bibliometric methodology, this study complements existing literature by giving a comprehensive, reliable thematic representation of this topic.
    Method: A Scopus search was done and all published research papers were reviewed. A total of 187 papers published between 1959 and 2021 were analyzed. We identified the most influential journals in this field, the most prolific nations and institutions, as well as the years with the most publications, the most cited papers, notable authors, and most researched areas, It was followed by use of the VOSviewer software (version 1.6.18) to construct and visualize the bibliometric networks like co-authorship network map, inter-country co-authorship network map, and keywords co-occurrences network maps.
    Results: The analysis reveals the current research trend where the number of publications on 'student suicide' reflects an overall upward trend over the years, suggesting that research on student suicidology is fast evolving but the pace is slow. The maximum publications were in the year 2020. The United States made the largest contribution (n = 85). The most productive institution was the University of Rochester, New York (n = 10). Allan J Schwartz was the most prolific author, with nine research papers. Journal of College Student Psychotherapy (n = 13) was the journal and Medicine (n = 118) was the discipline with the highest number of publications.
    Conclusion: The study potentially has important implications for designing more comprehensive screening and assessment tools for suicide risk. Future work should pay more attention to developing effective intervention programs for students. The results also highlight the need for more research work on student suicidology. More research in this area is needed to create awareness among students. Consequently, this study can be a big critique and torch bearer at the same time.

       Objective: Neuropathic pain (NP) is a common disease that manifests with pathological changes in the somatosensory system. In recent years, the interactions of NP with the epigenetic mechanism have been increasingly elucidated. However, only a few studies have used bibliometric tools to systematically analyze knowledge in this field. The objective of this study is to visually analyze the trends, hotspots, and frontiers in epigenetics and NP research by using a bibliometric method.
    Methods: Studies related to epigenetics and NP were searched from the Science Citation Index-Expanded of the Web of Science Core Collection database. Search time is from inception to November 30, 2022. No restrictions were placed on language. Only articles and reviews were included as document types. Data on institutions, countries, authors, journal distribution, and keywords were imported into CiteSpace software for visual analysis.
    Results: A total of 867 publications met the inclusion criteria, which spanned the period from 2000 to 2022. Over the years, the number of publications and the frequency of citations exhibited a clear upward trend in general, reaching a peak in 2021. The major contributing countries in terms of the number of publications were China, the United States, and Japan. The top three institutions were Rutgers State University, Xuzhou Medical University, and Nanjing Medical University. Molecular Pain, Pain, and Journal of Neuroinflammation contributed significantly to the volume of issues. Among the top 10 authors in terms of the number of publications, Tao Yuan-Xiang contributed 30 entries, followed by Zhang Yi with 24 and Wu Shao-Gen with 20. On the basis of the burst and clusters of keywords, "DNA methylation," "Circular RNA," "acetylation," "long non-coding RNA," and "microglia" are global hotspots in the field.
    Conclusion: The bibliometric analysis indicates that the number of publications related to epigenetics and NP is exhibiting a rapid increase. Keyword analysis shows that "DNA methylation," "Circular RNA," "acetylation," "long non-coding RNA" and "microglia" are the most interesting terms for researchers in the field. More rigorous clinical trials and additional studies that explore relevant mechanisms are required in the future.

      Purpose: MXene is two-dimensional (2D) nanomaterials that comprise transition metal carbides, nitrides, and carbonitrides. Their unique nanostructure attributes it a special role in medical applications. However, bibliometric studies have not been conducted in this field. Therefore, the aim of the present study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis to evaluate the global scientific output of MXene in biomedical research, explore the current situation of this field in the past years and predicte its research hotpots. Methods: We utilized visual analysis softwares Citespace and Bibliometrix to analyze all relevant documents published in the period of 2011-2022. The bibliometric records were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection. Results: A total of 1,489 publications were analyzed in this study. We observed that China is the country with the largest number of publications, with Sichuan University being the institution with the highest number of publications in this field. The most publications on MXene medicine research in the past year were found primarily in journals about Chemistry/Materials/Physics. Moreover, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces was found to be the most productive journal in this field. Co-cited references and keyword cluster analysis revealed that #antibacterial# and #photothermal therapy# are the research focus keyword and burst detection suggested that driven wearable electronics were newly-emergent research hot spots. Conclusion: Our bibliometric analysis indicates that research on MXene medical application remains an active field of study. At present, the research focus is on the application of MXene in the field of antibacterial taking advantage of its photothermal properties. In the future, wearable electronics is the research direction of MXene medical application.

       Background: Non-fasting lipid assessment can help predict cardiovascular disease risks and is linked to multiple diseases, particularly diabetes. The significance of non-fasting lipid levels in routine screening and postprandial lipid tests for potential dyslipidemia has not been conclusively determined. Various new lipid-lowering strategies have been developed to improve non-fasting dyslipidemia. Therefore, analysis of scientific outputs over the past decade is essential to reveal trends, hotspots, and frontier areas for future research in this field.
    Methods: The Science Citation Index Expanded in the Web of Science Core Collection database was searched for publications related to non-fasting lipid research from 2012 to 2022. The regional distributions, authors, disciplines, journals, references, and keywords of the studies were analyzed using the bibliometric software VOSviewer and CiteSpace.
    Results: A total of 4160 articles and reviews that met the inclusion criteria were included in this study. The output trend was established to be stable and the number of citation indices has been persistently increasing. A total of 104 countries/regions, 4668 organizations, and 20782 authors were involved in this research area. In terms of country, the United States had the largest number of publications (979). The University of Copenhagen was the most productive institution, publishing 148 papers. Professor Børge G Nordestgaard has made the most significant contribution to this field. Nutrients was the most productive journal while the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition was the highest co-cited journal. Analysis of co-cited references indicated that lipid-lowering strategies, statin therapy, high-fat meals, insulin resistance, physical exercise, and fructose were hotspots. Analysis of co-cited keywords revealed that apolipoprotein B, especially apolipoprotein B48, is becoming a key research focus. The keywords "gut microbiota" and "meal timing" were the most extensively studied.
    Conclusion: The causal relationship between non-fasting dyslipidemia and diseases is currently being explored and the standards for non-fasting or postprandial lipid assessment are continuously being updated. Among the hotspots, lipid-lowering strategies are a potential research direction. Apolipoprotein B48, gut microbiota, and chrononutrition are the research frontiers. This initial bibliometric analysis of non-fasting lipids will enable researchers to monitor swift transformations and recognize novel concepts for upcoming research.

      Background  Blepharoplasty is one of the most-performed esthetic operations, and social media platforms have become an influential tool for distributing scientific information. Because the internet has gained popularity among medical experts and surgeons to connect with the public, we aimed to evaluate the altmetric-bibliometric analysis of the top 50 most-cited articles on blepharoplasty surgery between 2015 and 2022 and assess correlations with various metrics. Methods  "Blepharoplasty" was searched using the WoS database, and the altmetric score was obtained. Co-authors, keywords, country of authors, and cited journal network map analysis were created using VOSviewer for the 485 publications retrieved. The articles' focus was examined quantitatively and the most prolific parameters were identified. Results  The most research was performed by the USA, the most productive institution was the "University of California System," and the most prolific author was "Wonn CH." The number of citations ranged from 37 to 9, and altmetric attention scores ranged from 54 to 0. The most articles and citations peaked in 2021. Altmetric and Twitter scores were moderately correlated with journal metrics but there were no correlations with citation counts. Conclusion  The first comprehensive altmetric analysis on blepharoplasty surgery offers new guidelines for upcoming articles by demonstrating the recent investigation trends, prolific parameters, and zones with potential for the public's attention and education, providing valuable data regarding the distribution of scientific knowledge in social media platforms and to the general public. A social network may be used to increase the visibility of scientific articles apart from creating brands and markets.

       Background: IL-33 has been studied widely but its comprehensive and systematic bibliometric analysis is yet available. The present study is to summarize the research progress of IL-33 through bibliometric analysis.
    Methods: The publications related to IL-33 were identified and selected from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database on 7 December 2022. The downloaded data was analyzed with bibliometric package in R software. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to conduct IL-33 bibliometric and knowledge mapping analysis.
    Results: From 1 January 2004 to 7 December 2022, 4711 articles on IL-33 research published in 1009 academic journals by 24652 authors in 483 institutions from 89 countries were identified. The number of articles had grown steadily over this period. The United States of America(USA) and China are the major contributors in the field of research while University of Tokyo and University of Glasgow are the most active institutions. The most prolific journal is Frontiers in Immunology, while the Journal of Immunity is the top 1 co-cited journal. Andrew N. J. Mckenzie published the most significant number of articles and Jochen Schmitz was co-cited most. The major fields of these publications are immunology, cell biology, and biochemistry & molecular biology. After analysis, the high-frequency keywords of IL-33 research related to molecular biology (sST2, IL-1), immunological effects (type 2 immunity, Th2 cells), and diseases (asthma, cancer, cardiovascular diseases). Among these, the involvement of IL-33 in the regulation of type 2 inflammation has strong research potential and is a current research hotspot.
    Conclusion: The present study quantifies and identifies the current research status and trends of IL-33 using bibliometric and knowledge mapping analysis. This study may offer the direction of IL-33-related research for scholars.

       Background: There has been a marked increase in cervicogenic headaches in recent years, significantly affecting sufferers' daily lives and work. While several treatments exist for this type of headache, their long-term effects could be improved, and additional data from large clinical samples are needed. This study aims to systematically examine the current state of research in cervicogenic headaches through a bibliometric analysis, identify areas of current interest, and provide insight into potential future research directions.
    Methods: This article examines research trends in the field of cervicogenic headache through a bibliometric analysis of scholarly articles in the field of cervicogenic headache over the past four decades. The bibliometric analysis method employed included searching the Web of Science database using topics related to cervicogenic headaches. Inclusion criteria were limited to articles and review papers on cervicogenic headaches published between 1982 and 2022. The retrieved dataset was then analyzed using R software and VOSviewer to identify the major research areas, countries and institutions, the most influential authors, journals and keywords, co-citations in the literature, and co-authorship networks.
    Results: This study analyzed 866 articles published between 1982 and 2022, involving 2,688 authors and generating 1,499 unique author keywords. Neuroscience and neurology were the primary focus, with participation from 47 countries, primarily led by the United States, which has the most published articles (n = 207), connections (n = 29), and citations (n = 5,238). In the cervicogenic headache study, which involved 602 institutions, the University of Queensland received the most significant number of citations (n = 876), and Cephalalgia was the journal with the most published articles and received the most local citations (n = 82) and highest growth (n = 36). Two hundred sixty-nine journals have published articles on cervicogenic headaches. Among researchers studying cervicogenic headache, Sjaastad O had the most published articles (n = 51) and citations (n = 22). The most commonly occurring keyword was "cervicogenic headache." Except for the fourth most impactful paper, as determined by the Local Citation Score, which analyzed clinical treatments, all the top documents emphasized investigating the diagnostic mechanisms of cervicogenic headache. The most commonly occurring keyword was "cervicogenic headache."
    Conclusion: This study used bibliometric analysis to provide a comprehensive overview of the current research on cervicogenic headaches. The findings highlight several areas of research interest, including the need for further investigation into the diagnosis and treatment of cervicogenic headaches, the impact of lifestyle factors on cervicogenic headaches, and the development of new interventions to improve patient outcomes. By identifying these gaps in the literature, this study provides a foundation for guiding future research to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cervicogenic headaches.

      Background: Renal repair is closely related to the prognosis of acute kidney injury (AKI) and has attracted increasing attention in the research field. However, there is a lack of a comprehensive bibliometric analysis in this research area. This study aims at exploring the current status and hotspots of renal repair research in AKI from the perspective of bibliometrics. Methods: Studies published between 2002 and 2022 related to kidney repair after AKI were collected from Web of Science core collection (WoSCC) database. Bibliometric measurement and knowledge graph analysis to predict the latest research trends in the field were performed using bibliometrics software CiteSpace and VOSviewer. Results: The number of documents related to kidney repair after AKI has steadily increased over 20 years. The United States and China contribute more than 60% of documents and are the main drivers of research in this field. Harvard University is the most active academic institution that contributes the most documents. Humphreys BD and Bonventre JV are the most prolific authors and co-cited authors in the field. The American Journal of Physiology-Renal Physiology and Journal of the American Society of Nephrology are the most popular journals in the field with the greatest number of documents. "exosome", "macrophage polarization", "fibroblast", and" aki-ckd transition" are high-frequency keywords in this field in recent years. Extracellular vesicles (including exosomes), macrophage polarization, cell cycle arrest, hippo pathway, and sox9 are current research hotspots and potential targets in this field. Conclusion: This is the first comprehensive bibliometric study on the knowledge structure and development trend of AKI-related renal repair research in recent years. The results of the study comprehensively summarize and identify research frontiers in AKI-related renal repair.

       BACKGROUND: The objective of this bibliometric was to ascertain the research trend regarding the application of photodynamic therapy as a treatment modality for periodontal disease.
    METHODS: An online search was administered using the Scopus database to retrieve all the relevant research literature published from 2003 till 26th Dec 2022. After applying the inclusion criteria articles pertinent to the topic were manually selected. Data was saved as CSV. Data was read using VOSviewer software and further analysis was performed using Microsoft excel.
    RESULTS: From a total of 545 articles, 117 scientific papers relevant to the field were evaluated. The keen interest of researchers was identified by an increase in the number of publications over the course of time, with the highest citations n=827 attained during the year 2009. Brazil, India, and USA made significant contribution by publishing highest number of papers. Organizations from the USA produced the highest publications which attained high citations. Author Sculean A. published the highest number of papers. Journal of periodontology was the leading journal, by publishing highest number of papers (n=15), followed by Journal of Clinical Periodontology.
    CONCLUSION: This bibliometric analysis provided detailed information regarding the total number of publications from 2003 to 2022 and the number of citations attained. Brazil has been identified as the leading country, whilst all the leading organizations which contributed significantly, were from USA. The Journal of Periodontology published the highest number of papers which had been highly cited. Sculean A, affiliated with University of Bern, Switzerland published the highest number of papers.

       BACKGROUND: Surgical site infection (SSI) is a common complication in spinal surgery that can significantly affect the patient's prognosis. Despite advances in surgical techniques and infection control measures, SSI remains a considerable concern for healthcare providers and patients alike. In recent years, there has been a steady increase in studies related to SSI in spine surgery, leading to the publication of numerous informative articles. However, the current state and trends of research in the field of spinal SSI remain unclear. This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of SSI-related articles in spine surgery to identify research status and trends. Meanwhile, we identify the top 100 most cited articles for further analysis.
    METHODS: We searched for all articles related to spinal SSI in the Web of Science Core Collection, recording the publication year, country, journal, institution, keywords, and citation frequency for further analysis. In addition, we identified and analyzed the top 100 most cited articles.
    RESULTS: A total of 307 articles related to spinal SSI were identified. All of these articles were published between 2008 and 2022, with the number of publications showing an increasing trend over the years. The related articles originated from 37 countries, with the USA contributing the most (n = 138). The institution with the highest number of publications and citations was Johns Hopkins University (14 articles; 835 citations). Among the journals, Spine had the highest number of articles (n = 47). The prevention of spinal SSI has been a research hotspot in recent years. Among the top 100 most cited articles, the most common research theme was the risk factors associated with spinal SSI.
    CONCLUSIONS: In recent years, research related to spinal SSI has attracted the attention of numerous clinicians and scholars. As the first bibliometric analysis of spinal SSI, our study aims to provide pragmatic guidance for clinicians to learn the research status and trends in this field and improve their vigilance toward SSI.

       Purpose: To perform a bibliometric analysis of the 100 most-cited articles (T100 articles) on COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy to characterize current trends.
    Methods: The data of the bibliometric analysis were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database on January 29, 2023, and the results were sorted in descending order by citations. Two researchers independently extracted the characteristics of the top 100 cited articles, including title, author, citations, publication year, institution, country, author keywords, Journal Cited Rank, and impact factor. Excel and VOSviewer were used to analyze the data.
    Results: The T100 articles ranged from 79 to 1125 citations, with a mean of 208.75. The T100 articles were contributed by 29 countries worldwide, of which the USA ranked first with 28 articles and 5417 citations. The T100 articles were published in 61 journals; the top three citations were VACCINES, NATURE MEDICINE, and EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF EPIDEMIOLOGY, and the number of citations was 2690, 1712, and 1644, respectively. Professor Sallam, M(n=4) from Jordan, is the author who participated in the most published articles. Catholic University of the Sacred Heart (n=8) had the most T100 articles.
    Conclusion: It is the first bibliometric analysis of the T100 articles in the field of COVID-19 vaccine hesitancy. We carefully analyzed and described the characteristics of these T100 articles, which provide ideas for further strengthening COVID-19 vaccination and fighting against the epidemic in the future.

       Background: Alternative citation metrics-such as the Altmetric Attention Score (AAS), number of tweets (TN), and dimensions badge value (DBV)-are emerging as new options for assessing the value of scientific works.
    Purpose: To analyze the AAS of highly cited articles on the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and to assess the relationship between alternative and traditional metrics such as journal rankings and article citation performance.
    Study Design: Cross-sectional study.
    Methods: A search was conducted using the Web of Science Core Collection of databases with "anterior cruciate ligament" as the search term. Full-text articles published between 2011 and 2021 were reviewed, and the top 100 cited articles were determined. The articles were analyzed by publication year, study design, research topic, journal impact factor, journal h-index, number of total citations (TC), recent citations (RC) (ie, citations in the latest 2 years), and average citation per year (ACY), as well as AAS, TN, and DBV.
    Results: For articles in the top 100 list, the median TC was 160 (interquartile range [IQR], 117-561) and the median AAS was 24.50 (IQR, 1-730). A higher AAS score was achieved by articles on return to sports and anterolateral ligament (P < .05). The AAS and TN were significantly and positively correlated with the RC (r = 0.459 and P = .001; r = 0.438 and P = .001, respectively) and ACY (r = 0.363 and P = .001; r = 0.393 and P = .001, respectively).
    Conclusion: Alternative metrics were linked to traditional metrics but were not a direct representation of bibliometrics. The AAS was not correlated with TC numbers in the ACL research. Higher AAS and Twitter popularity of an article were related to receiving high-volume RC performance. The DBV represented a stronger correlation with traditional metrics than the AAS.

      The present study explores characteristics of the top 100 most-cited articles on loneliness. A systematic search was carried out using the Thomson Reuters Web of Science Core Collection to collect studies on loneliness from inception to June 1, 2022. The initial search resulted in 6,250 search results, which included articles, book chapters, conference proceedings, editorials, and letters. Two authors independently screened the literature and extracted the data. The study supervisor removed any discrepancies. Top 100 papers (articles and reviews) on loneliness published in English were extracted. Data analysis and visualization were performed on Excel, Web of Science (WoS) Data Analyzer, and VOSviewer 1.6.16. The total number of citations of the 100 top-cited articles was 42,044, ranging from 203 to 2,201 per article. All of the studies were published from 1989 to 2021, and the years with the highest number of top-cited articles published were 2003 and 2008. Most publications were from the following journals: Computers in Human Behavior, Developmental Psychology, Psychological Science, Psychology, and Aging (n=4 each). The most cited article was titled "UCLA Loneliness Scale (Version 3): Reliability, validity, and factor structure" by Russell, DW, in the Journal of Personality Assessment. The most productive institute was the University of Chicago. The two most productive authors were Cacioppo, JT, and Hawkley, LC. Of the 100 top-cited publications, 87 were original articles and 13 were reviews. The top three WoS categories were psychology multidisciplinary, gerontology, and psychiatry. In total, 37 author keywords were elicited and further clubbed into eight distinct clusters. The study provides new insight into loneliness research, which may help doctors, researchers, and stakeholders achieve a more comprehensive understanding of trends and influential contributions to the field and highlight under-researched areas, which could be the basis for future investigation.

       Background: Since entering the 21st century, there has been an increasing interest in minimally invasive surgery for spinal diseases, which has led to the continued development of minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS), with major breakthroughs in technology and technical skills. However, in recent years, there is little relevant research using bibliometrics to analyze the field of MISS research. The purpose of this study is to sort out the publication situation and topic trends of articles in the field of MISS research from the perspective of bibliometrics.
    Methods: The articles and reviews related to MISS from 2000 to 2022 were retrieved and downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC). Visualization and knowledge mapping were performed using three bibliometric tools, including online bibliometric platform, CiteSpace and VOSviewer software. Curve fitting and correlation analysis were performed using Microsoft Excel software. The global research publication output, contributions of countries, institutions, authors, and journals, average citations per item (ACI), Hirsch index (H-index), research hot keywords, etc., in this field were analyzed.
    Results: A total of 2384 papers were retrieved, including 2135 original papers and 249 review papers. In the past 22 years, the number of annual publications of MISS research has shown a steady growth trend. China contributed the most papers, and the United States ranked second, but the United States had the highest total citations, and H-index value. The most prolific institutions were Soochow University, Capital Medical University and Wooridul Spine Hospital. In this field, Professors Lee SH, Ahn Y and Yang HL have made significant achievements. However, there is relatively little international collaboration between institutions or researchers. World Neurosurgery is the most published journal on MISS research. According to the keyword co-occurrence analysis, recent keywords mainly focus on researches on minimally invasive modalities, techniques and prognosis, while on the keyword analysis of the ongoing bursts, percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic discectomy, lumbar diskectomy, spinal stenosis, recompression, diskectomy, endoscopic spine surgery, laminectomy, transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion, etc., will likely continue to be a research hotspot in the near future.
    Conclusion: Looking at the temporal trend in the number of publications per year, the number of publications for the MISS study will increase in the near future. China has the highest number of publications, but the US has the highest quality publications. International cooperation needs to be further strengthened. Our findings can provide useful information for the academic community and identify possible research fronts and hotspots in the coming years.

       BACKGROUND: Optic neuritis (ON) is an optic nerve inflammation that may lead to different degrees of vision loss. In recent decades, ON research facilitated a better understanding of the disease and its subtypes. This bibliometric analysis aimed to detect the 100 most-cited medical articles related to ON in the last 50 years (1972-2021) and describe publication trends arising from the list.
    METHODS: The Scopus database was used to locate and screen the 100 most influential ON papers based on the number of citations per article. Each entry was reviewed for the first author (name, gender, institution, and country), year of publication, journal, number of citations, ON subtype, and study design. The mean impact factor (IF) of each journal was calculated.
    RESULTS: The median number of citations was 265 (range 182-2,396). Observational studies on neuromyelitis optica-associated ON were the most common (27%), and the most influential decade was 2002-2011 (54 papers). Seventy-nine percent of articles were published in neurology journals, and a positive correlation between the mean number of citations per article and the journal mean IF was observed (r = 0.62, P < 0.001). Between 2009 and 2021, female authors led more ON studies (52%), and more publications originated outside the USA (68%), compared with previous years.
    CONCLUSIONS: This analysis summarizes the impact and shifting trends of ON research in the last decades.

       OBJECTIVE: The literature on sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) has been evolving at a staggering rate. We conducted a bibliometric analysis of the SUDEP literature with the aim of presenting its structure, performance, and trends.
    METHODS: The Scopus database was searched in April 2023 for documents explicitly detailing SUDEP in their title, abstract, or keywords. After the removal of duplicate documents, bibliometric analysis was performed using the R package bibliometrix and the program VOSviewer. Performance metrics were computed to describe the literature's annual productivity, most relevant authors and countries, and most important publications. Science mapping was performed to visualize the relationships between research constituents by constructing a country collaboration network, co-authorship network, keyword co-occurrence network, and document co-citation network.
    RESULTS: A total of 2140 documents were analyzed. These documents were published from 1989 onward, with an average number of citations per document of 25.78. Annual productivity had been on the rise since 2006. Out of 6502 authors, five authors were in both the list of the ten most productive and the list of the ten most cited authors: Devinsky O, Sander JW, Tomson T, Ryvlin P, and Lhatoo SD. The USA and the United Kingdom were the most productive and cited countries. Collaborations between American authors and European authors were particularly rich. Prominent themes in the literature included those related to pathophysiology (e.g., cardiac arrhythmia, apnea, autonomic dysfunction), epilepsy characteristics (e.g., epilepsy type, refractoriness, antiseizure medications), and epidemiology (e.g., incidence, age, sex). Emerging themes included sleep, genetics, epilepsy refractoriness, and non-human studies.
    SIGNIFICANCE: The body of literature on SUDEP is rich, fast-growing, and benefiting from frequent international collaborations. Some research themes such as sleep, genetics, and animal studies have become more prevalent over recent years.

      Introduction: Necroptosis is an alternative, caspase-independent programmed cell death that appears when apoptosis is inhibited. A gowing number of studies have reflected the link between necroptosis and tumors. However, only some systematical bibliometric analyses were focused on this field. In this study, we aimed to identify and visualize the cooperation between countries, institutions, authors, and journals through a bibliometric analysis to help understand the hotspot trends and emerging topics regarding necroptosis and cancer research. Methods: The articles and reviews on necroptosis and cancer were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection on 16 September 2022. Countries, institutions, authors, references, and keywords in this field were visually analyzed by CtieSpace 5.8.R3, VOSviewer 1.6.18, and R package "bibliometrix." Results: From 2006 to 2022, 2,216 qualified original articles and reviews on necroptosis in tumors were published in 685 academic journals by 13,009 authors in 789 institutions from 75 countries/regions. Publications focusing on necroptosis and cancer have increased violently in the past 16 years, while the citation number peaked around 2008-2011. Most publications were from China, while the United States maintained the dominant position as a "knowledge bridge" in necroptosis and cancer research; meanwhile, Ghent University and the Chinese Academy of Sciences were the most productive institutions. Moreover, only a tiny portion of the articles were multiple-country publications. Peter Vandenabeele had the most significant publications, while Alexei Degterev was most often co-cited. Peter Vandenabeele also gets the highest h-index and g-index in this research field. Cell Death and Disease was the journal with the most publications on necroptosis and cancer, which was confirmed to be the top core source by Bradford's Law. At the same time, Cell was the leading co-cited journal, and the focus area of these papers was molecular, biology, and immunology. High-frequency keywords mainly contained those that are molecularly related (MLKL, NF-kB, TNF, RIPK3, RIPK1), pathological process related (necroptosis, apoptosis, cell-death, necrosis, autophagy), and mechanism related (activation, expression, mechanisms, and inhibition). Conclusion: This study comprehensively overviews necroptosis and cancer research using bibliometric and visual methods. Research related to necroptosis and cancer is flourishing. Cooperation and communication between countries and institutions must be further strengthened. The information in our paper would provide valuable references for scholars focusing on necroptosis and cancer.

       BACKGROUND: Health science is evolving extremely rapidly at worldwide level. There is a large volume of articles about health economics that are published each year. The main purpose of this research is to explore health economics in the world's scholarly literature based on a scient metric analysis to outline the evolution of research in the field.
    METHOD: The Web of Science repository was used to get the data (1975-2022). The study explores 1620 documents from health economics. CiteSpace software was used to provide network visualisations. Four thousand ninety-six authors, 1723 institutions, 847 journals and 82 countries were involved in the sample. The current research contains a descriptive analysis, a co-authorship analysis, a co-citation analysis, and a co-occurrence analysis in health economics.
    RESULTS: Drummond M.F (author), the USA (country), University of London (institution) and Value Health (journal) are among the most important contributors to the health economics literature. Co-authorship analysis highlights that cooperation between authors, institutions and countries is weak. However, Drummond M.F. is the most collaborative author, the USA is the most collaborative country, and University of York is the most collaborative institution. The study offers an image about the most co-cited references (Arrow K.J., 1963), authors (Margolis H.) and journals (British Medical Journal). The current research hotspots in health economics are "behavioural economics" and "economic evaluation". The main findings should be interpreted in accordance with the selection strategy used in this paper.
    CONCLUSION: All in all, the paper maps the literature on health economics and may be used for future research.

      BACKGROUND Knee osteoarthritis (OA) is a chronic joint disease characterized by pain, swelling, and limited knee activity. Numerous studies have reported the efficacy and mechanism of physical activity in patients with knee OA. However, bibliometric analyses of physical activity and knee OA are rare. This study aimed to discuss the hotspots, frontiers, and trends in physical activity and knee OA research using bibliometric methods to provide valuable information for future research. MATERIAL AND METHODS Relevant literature was obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database from 2000 to 2021. English-language articles and reviews were selected. CiteSpace (6.1.R2), a bibliometric analytical tool, was used to analyze the countries, institutions, journals, authors, keywords, and references. RESULTS A total of 860 papers were obtained. Publications and citations have increased over the years. The most productive country, institution, author, and journal were USA, the University of Melbourne, Bennell KL, and Osteoarthritis and Cartilage. The author and journal with the most citations were Fransen M and Osteoarthritis and Cartilage. McAlindon TE et al's paper had the most citations and the strongest burst. Two references for the latest bursts were published by Fransen M et al. and Bartholdy C et al. The top 4 keywords were "hip," "knee osteoarthritis," "pain," and "older adult." The keywords for the latest burst were "guideline" and "risk." CONCLUSIONS Over the past 2 decades, research on physical activity in knee OA has received increasing attention. This study identified research hotspots and development trends, providing meaningful information for researchers.

       Background: Melanoma is a malignant tumor that originates from the canceration of melanocytes with a high rate of invasiveness and lethality. Immune escape has been regarded as an important mechanism for tumor development, while the treatment of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) is beneficial in restoring and enhancing the body's anti-tumor immune response to kill tumor cells. To date, ICIs therapy has achieved remarkable efficacy in treating melanoma patients. Despite the significant clinical benefits of ICIs, multiple complications such as rashes, thyroiditis, and colitis occur in melanoma patients. In this study, we aim to explore the development process and trends in the field of ICIs-related complications in melanoma, analyze current hot topics, and predict future research directions.
    Methods: We screened the most relevant literatures on ICIs-related complications in melanoma from 2011 to 2021 in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). Using VOSviewer, CiteSpace and R language packages, we analyzed the research trends in this field.
    Results: A total of 1,087 articles were screened, and the USA had the highest number of publications (publications = 454, citations = 60,483), followed by Germany (publications = 155, citations = 27,743) and Italy (publications = 139, citations = 27,837). The Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center had the most publications, but the Angeles Clinic and Research Institute had the highest average citation rate. Lancet oncology (IF, 2021 = 54.43) was the most prominent of all journals in terms of average citation rate. Reference and keyword cluster analysis revealed that anti-tumor efficacy, adjuvant treatment, clinical response, clinical outcome, etc. were the hotspots and trends of research in recent years.
    Conclusions: This study offers a comprehensive summary and analysis of global research trends on ICIs-related complications in melanoma. Over the past decade, there has been a significant increase in the number of publications on this topic. However, the safety and benefits of retreatment after the recovery of ICIs-related complications remain unknown. Therefore,the establishment of related prediction models, as well as the immunotherapy of melanoma with ICIs in combination with other adjuvant therapies, are future research hotspots.

      Gut microbiota has been reported to participate in bone metabolism. However, no article has quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed this crossing field. The present study aims to analyze the current international research trends and demonstrate possible hotspots in the recent decade through bibliometrics. We screened out 938 articles meeting the standards from 2001 to 2021 in the Web of Science Core Collection database. Bibliometric analyses were performed and visualized using Excel, Citespace, and VOSviewer. Generally, the annual number of published literatures in this field shows an escalating trend. The United States has the largest number of publications, accounting for 30.4% of the total. Michigan State University and Sichuan University have the largest number of publications, while Michigan State University has the highest average number of citations at 60.00. Nutrients published 49 articles, ranking first, while the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research had the highest average number of citations at 13.36. Narayanan Parameswaran from Michigan State University, Roberto Pacifici from Emory University, and Christopher Hernandez from Cornell University were the three professors who made the largest contribution to this field. Frequency analysis showed that inflammation (148), obesity (86), and probiotics (81) are keywords with the highest focus. Moreover, keywords cluster analysis and keywords burst analysis showed that "inflammation", "obesity", and "probiotics" were the most researched topics in the field of gut microbiota and bone metabolism. Scientific publications related to gut microbiota and bone metabolism have continuously risen from 2001 to 2021. The underlying mechanism has been widely studied in the past few years, and factors affecting the alterations of the gut microbiota, as well as probiotic treatment, are emerging as new research trends.

       Background: The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is a natural physiological barrier that protects the central nervous system from foreign substances and limits the delivery of drugs to the brain. Nanotechnology has opened up new possibilities for drug delivery in the brain. Over several decades, various Nanoparticle Drug Delivery Systems (NDDS) that can cross the BBB have been developed for targeted delivery in the brain. To gain a comprehensive understanding of the current research hotspots and trends of NDDS across the BBB, this paper employs bibliometric analysis of articles published in the core database of Web of Science (WOS) from 1996 to 2022.
    Method: A search for relevant research literature on NDDS that can cross the BBB was conducted in the Web of Science database, covering the period from 1996 to 2022. The Bibliometrix R-4.0 software package was used to analyze data related to the countries of publication, research institutions, journals, citations, and keywords. The analysis aimed to identify the co-occurrence of keywords in the documents, including their titles and abstracts. Additionally, cooperative network analyses of authors, institutions, and countries of publication were conducted.
    Results: A total of 436 articles were analyzed, originating from 174 journals and 13 books, with the majority published in Q1 and Q2 journals. Contributors from 53 countries or regions participated in the publication of these articles, with China, the United States, and India having the highest number of articles by correspondent authors, and China, the United States, and Germany being the most cited countries. Fudan University, Hacettepe University, and Sichuan University were the top three institutions with the most publications. Among the 436 articles analyzed, 1337 keywords and 1450 keywords plus were identified. Factor analysis grouped the keywords plus into two categories: drug delivery systems, polymeric nanoparticles, gold nanoparticles, transferrin, and others, and drug, delivery, efficiency, expression, and mechanism.
    Conclusion: The research on NDDS that can cross the BBB is gradually receiving attention, and the recognition and cooperation in this field have increased.

       BACKGROUND: Significant gender disparity exists in orthopaedic surgery. While women have increasingly entered the field, we are short of the critical mass needed to drive change, including in authorship. This study aimed to characterize trends in authorship in peer-reviewed orthopaedic journals in the context of gender.
    METHODS: This is a cross-sectional bibliometric study of orthopaedic journals in the United States. Articles that were indexed in the orthopaedic category of the Clarivate Journal Citation Report (JCR) and the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) were analyzed (n = 82). Journals not originating from the U.S. (n = 43) or not considered primarily orthopaedic journals (n = 13) were excluded. The 2020 impact factors (IFs) of the remaining 26 journals were recorded. The articles underwent automated data collection from PubMed for January 2002 to December 2021 using R software to collect the title, the journal, the publication year, the first and senior author names, and the country of origin. Gender was determined by Gender API (https://gender-api.com). Names with <90% accuracy were excluded.
    RESULTS: Overall, 168,451 names were studied, with 85,845 and 82,606 first and senior authors, respectively. Of the first and senior authors, 13.6% and 9.9%, respectively, were female. The proportion of female first authors was significantly greater than the proportion of female senior authors. The average IF was significantly higher for male authors compared with female authors (p < 0.005). Articles with female first authors were significantly more likely to have a female senior author. Orthopaedic subspecialty journals had a smaller proportion of manuscripts authored by female first and senior authors than general journals (p < 0.0001). There were 4,451 articles written by a single author, of which 92% (4,093) were written by a man and 8% (358) were written by a woman. Over the 20-year study period, the proportion of female first authorship exhibited a significant positive trend; however, there was a non-significant increase in female senior authorship.
    CONCLUSIONS: Female representation in orthopaedics has been growing over the past decade. Increasing publication rates of female authors reveal steps toward positive gender equity in the field and present an opportunity for female leadership visibility, illustrating the capabilities of women in orthopaedics and encouraging more women to join the field.

       OBJECTIVE: Bone morphogenetic proteins (BMPs) are part of the transforming growth factor-beta superfamily and are involved in bone formation and repair. In spine surgery, recombinant human BMP (rhBMP) is used as an alternative to autografts for spinal fusions. This study aimed to evaluate bibliometric parameters and citations of the literature on BMPs to provide an overview of how the field has evolved.
    METHODS: A comprehensive search of the literature was conducted using Elsevier's Scopus database to capture all the published and indexed studies relevant to BMPs from 1955 to the present. A discrete set of validated bibliometric parameters was extracted and analyzed. All statistical analyses were performed using R 4.1.1.
    RESULTS: The 100 most cited articles were published between 1994 and 2018 by 472 unique authors in 40 sources (e.g., journals and books). On average, there were 279 citations per publication and 17.69 citations per publication per year. The United States had the publications with the most citations (n = 23,761), followed by Hong Kong (n = 580) and the United Kingdom (n = 490). The three institutions in the United States with the greatest number of publications in the field were Emory University (n = 14), Hughston Clinic (n = 9), Hospital for Special Surgery (n = 6), and University of California (n = 6).
    CONCLUSIONS: The authors evaluated and characterized the 100 most cited articles about BMP. Most of the publications were clinical in nature and focused on BMP's application in spine surgery. While early scientific efforts focused on basic science research to advance the understanding of BMP's mechanism of action in promoting bone formation, the majority of the more recent publications are clinically focused. It will be beneficial to conduct more controlled clinical trials to compare the outcomes of BMP use with other methods.

       Background: Skin regeneration is a challenging issue worldwide. Increasing research has highlighted the role of immune cells in healing and the underlying regulatory mechanism. The purpose of this study was to identify the hotspots and trends in skin regeneration and inflammation research through bibliometrics and to provide insights into the future development of fundamental research and disease treatment.
    Methods: Publications were collected from the Web of Science Core Collection on March 1, 2022. Articles and reviews published in English from January 1, 1999, to December 31, 2022, were selected, and statistical analyses of countries, institutions, authors, references, and keywords were performed using VOSviewer 1.6.18 and CiteSpace 5.8.
    Results: A total of 3,894 articles and reviews were selected. The number of publications on skin inflammation and regeneration showed an increasing trend over time. Additionally, authors and institutions in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and China appeared to be at the forefront of research in the field of skin inflammation and regeneration. Werner Sabine published some of the most cited papers. Wound Repair and Regeneration was the most productive journal, while Journal of Investigative Dermatology was the most cited journal. Angiogenesis, diamonds, collagen, cytokine, and keratinocytes were the five most commonly used keywords.
    Conclusion: The number of publications on skin inflammation and regeneration show an increasing trend. Moreover, a series of advanced technologies and treatments for skin regeneration, such as exosomes, hydrogels, and wound dressings, are emerging, which will provide precise information for the treatment of skin wounds. This study can enhance our understanding of current hotspots and future trends in skin inflammation and regeneration research, as well as provide guidelines for fundamental research and clinical treatment.

       BACKGROUND: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a significant increase in cases of bronchiolitis among children. As a result, there has been a corresponding increase in the number of publications on this topic. It is essential to examine the main areas of focus within the scientific literature to understand the current trends in research on pediatric bronchiolitis. This research aims to analyze the types of scientific advances related to pediatric bronchiolitis, the research trends being pursued, and the countries and research institutions leading these efforts. By understanding these aspects of bronchiolitis research, we can better understand the current state of knowledge and identify areas where further research is needed.
    METHODS: To conduct a bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature on pediatric bronchiolitis, all relevant publications were retrieved from the Scopus database. The Scopus API and the SW VosViewer software with optimized modularity functions were used. This analysis was intended to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of research on this topic, including the types of scientific advances being developed, the research trends being pursued, and the countries and research institutions leading these efforts.
    RESULTS: A total of 3810 publications were reviewed. We observed an increasing number of publications, particularly in recent years. Of these, 73.7% were articles, 95% were written in English, and 29.4% were from the United States. The main keywords used in these publications included: human, bronchiolitis, child, preschool, preschool child, major clinical study, controlled study, pneumonia, asthma, adolescent, hospitalization, infant, and newborn. These keywords were grouped into six clusters: outpatient management, long-term consequences, etiology, intensive care management, diagnostic methods, and the main cluster, which focused on hospital treatment and clinical studies.
    CONCLUSIONS: The bibliometric analysis of bronchiolitis research in pediatrics reveals that there has been a significant increase in the number of publications on this topic, particularly in recent years. Most of these publications are articles written in English and published in the United States. The main keywords used in these studies relate to various aspects of bronchiolitis, including diagnosis, treatment, and long-term consequences. The results of this analysis suggest that bronchiolitis is a topic of significant interest and concern for researchers and practitioners in the field of pediatrics and that further research is needed to improve our understanding and management of this condition.

      Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) with their carcinogenic, teratogenic, and mutagenic effects can cause great damage to the ecosystem and public health when present in water. With bioremediation, PAH contamination in water environment can be greatly reduced in an eco-friendly manner. It has thus become the research focus for many environmental scientists. In this study, a bibliometric analysis on three-decade (1990-2022) development of PAH bioremediation in water environment was conducted from temporal and spatial dimensions using CiteSpace. A total of 2480 publications, obtained from Web of Science core collection database, were used to explore the basic characteristics, hotspots, and prospects of the research area. The results showed that (1) bioremediation/biodegradation of PAHs in water environment has been getting researchers' attention since 1990, and is gaining even more traction as time goes on. (2) In terms of countries, China and the USA were the major contributors in this research area, while at the institutional level, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has produced the most research results. However, international cooperation across regions was lacking in the field. (3) Environment Science and Technology, Chemosphere, Applied and Environment Microbiology, Journal of Hazardous Materials, and Environment Pollution were the 5 most cited journals in this field. (4) There were three major stages the field has gone through, each with distinct research hotspots, including initial stage (1990-1994), mechanism investigation (1995-2000), and application exploration (2001-2010; 2011-2022). Finally, research perspectives were proposed, covering three directions, namely, bioavailability, immobilization, and viable but nonculturable (VBNC) bacteria.

      Vaccines may play an important role in cancer prevention. This bibliometric study in the field of vaccine and cancer prevention is designed to evaluate key research advances, identify existing deficiencies, and provide reference for future investigations. A total of 2916 original articles published in English from 1992 to 2022 were extracted from the Web of Science core collection. America (1,277) and the National Cancer Institute (82) were the most productive country and institution in this field, respectively. Vaccine was not only the most co-cited journal but also the most influential. Garland SM was the most prolific author, and Bosch FX was the most influential co-cited author. The keywords "cervical cancer" had the highest frequency. "Nanovaccines," "vaccine acceptance" and "coverage" were the new research hotspots in this field. Currently, although an increasing number of publications involve vaccine and cancer prevention studies, most of them are related to cervical cancer, and few other cancers, suggesting the need to investigate other cancer prevention vaccines. The promising research hotspots, such as nanovaccines, vaccine acceptance, and vaccine coverage should be the focus of investigation. The study provides the current status and trends in clinical research on vaccine and cancer prevention, enabling researchers to identify hotspots and explore new study directions. In the future, vaccines are expected to play a key role in multiple cancer prevention.

       Objective: This study describes the state of the art in the field of cancer-related cognitive impairment (CRCI) to facilitate research opportunities in future CRCI research.
    Methods: Five databases were searched: PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health (CINAHL), and PsycINFO, from inception to August 20, 2022. Python, VOSviewer, and CiteSpace software were used for data preprocessing and analysis.
    Results: The published articles were predominantly from the United States, followed by China and Canada. Breast cancer and brain tumors were the dominant cancer types. The study population consisted mainly of adult cancer survivors. Prospective and multicenter studies were the most frequently used study designs. Keyword co-occurrence and mutation analysis indicated major themes: drug therapy was the most common treatment cluster, and adverse effects were another major cluster. The etiology of CRCI was a research hotspot and included the exploration of chemotherapy-associated and psychosocial factors by using measurement tools, such as neuropsychological tests and treatment outcomes.
    Conclusions: This study's findings highlight CRCI as a major research area, on the basis of the significantly increasing number of annual publications. Keyword co-occurrence analysis provided a quantitative visualization of the current research status for CRCI, but this method cannot provide in-depth qualitative insights explaining the potential emerging trends in this field.

      Monkeypox is a rare zoonotic disease caused by the monkeypox virus, which spreads by direct contact mainly, thus having the propensity to cause future epidemics. The current review aimed to provide an up-to-date literature analysis for evaluating scientific data on monkeypox. A bibliometric analysis was conducted through eight electronic databases. The search period was from May 2022 to December 2023. All the articles were exported to Mendeley (Elsevier, Amsterdam, Netherlands). The literature search resulted in 415 relevant research articles. The growth of publications gradually rose, initiated in January 2022, leading to a rapid upsurge in May 2022. A total of 409 documents reported the number of citations, with two articles documenting the highest number, ranging from 146-150 and 216-220. The European region (EURO) dominated in publishing research articles on monkeypox, with the United States having the highest number of reports (n = 41; 9.87%), followed by the United Kingdom (n = 35; 8.43%) and Italy (n = 15; 3.61%). There were 82 funding agencies that funded 44 research articles, whereas 371 were not funded by any funding agency. Our analysis has presented the outline of the research articles published on monkeypox virus-related literature during the current outbreak. Research articles should be financially and administratively supported. Future research is required to expand research on the monkeypox virus, as there is a growing demand for original articles.

       BACKGROUND: We aim to establish the characteristics of published cardio-oncology research of clinical trials by bibliometric analysis and to talk about the prospects and difficulties facing the development of cardio-oncology.
    METHODS: Search of data related to clinical trials in cardiac oncology from 1990 to 2022 from the Web of Science core collection. Using CiteSpace to perform co-citation analysis of authors, countries (regions) and institutions, journals and cited journals, cited authors and cited literature, and keywords.
    RESULTS: Of the 607 clinical trial studies, the number of papers published per year has increased over time. The regions with the greatest influence were North America (especially the United States) and Europe. Multicenter research has always been the focus of cardio-oncology research, but cross-regional cooperation was still lacking. Myocardial toxicity caused by anthracyclines has received the earliest attention and has been studied for the longest time. Meanwhile, the efficacy and cardiotoxicity of new anticancer drugs always came into focus, but at a slow pace. Few studies on myocardial toxicity were related to the treatment of tumors except breast cancer. Risk factors, heart disease, adverse outcomes, follow-up, and intervention protection were the major hotspots revealed by co-citation cluster.
    CONCLUSIONS: There is great potential for the development of clinical trials in cardio-oncology, especially in multicenter cooperation across different regions. Expansion of tumor types, myocardial toxicity of different drugs, and effective interventions in the research direction and design of clinical trials are necessary.

      Many tools are used to predict difficult airway, including bedside screening tests, radiological variables, and ultrasonography. However, the "gold standard" to identify difficult airway before intubation has not been established. The assessment and prediction of difficult airway is receiving increasing attention in clinical practice due to the devastating results of failed oxygenation or intubation. A literature visualization study is necessary to understand the research trend and help tailor future research directions. Science citation index-expanded web of Science database were used to search for literature related to assessment and prediction of difficult airways published before May 9th, 2022. VOS viewer software was used for visual analysis, including literature statistics, and co-occurrence analysis. A total of 2609 articles were included. The amount of relevant research interest and literature is increasing every year. According to co-occurrence network analysis, the research results can be grouped into the following 5 clusters, intubation approaches, intubation in special populations, difficult airway assessment tests, intubation in critical care/emergency settings and education, and laryngoscopes. Co-occurrence overlay analysis showed that video laryngoscopes and index prediction (including computed tomography and ultrasonography), emerged recently and comprised an important percentage of current studies. It can be predicted that future studies should focus on understanding the upper airway anatomy and constructing risk index predictions. Based on current global research trends, risk index predictions are the next hot topics in the evaluation and prediction of difficult airways, and video laryngoscopes will continue to be a hot topic in this field.

      Machine learning (ML) is an advanced computer algorithm that simulates the human learning process to solve problems. With an explosion of monitoring data and the increasing demand for fast and accurate prediction, ML models have been rapidly developed and applied in air pollution research. In order to explore the status of ML applications in air pollution research, a bibliometric analysis was made based on 2962 articles published from 1990 to 2021. The number of publications increased sharply after 2017, comprising approximately 75% of the total. Institutions in China and United States contributed half of all publications with most research being conducted by individual groups rather than global collaborations. Cluster analysis revealed four main research topics for the application of ML: chemical characterization of pollutants, short-term forecasting, detection improvement and optimizing emission control. The rapid development of ML algorithms has increased the capability to explore the chemical characteristics of multiple pollutants, analyze chemical reactions and their driving factors, and simulate scenarios. Combined with multi-field data, ML models are a powerful tool for analyzing atmospheric chemical processes and evaluating the management of air quality and deserve greater attention in future.

       BACKGROUND: The Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) National Databases contain the largest and most comprehensive cardiac, thoracic, and congenital surgery data available. In this analysis, characteristics of manuscripts that utilized the STS National Databases were examined to evaluate the quality and impact of these publications.
    METHODS: Manuscripts published from 2010-2020 that utilized the STS National Databases (Adult Cardiac, General Thoracic, and Congenital Heart Surgery) were examined. Times-cited per published manuscript, journal of publication, and journal CiteScore were assessed. Author characteristics, including institutional association and h-index, were evaluated for first and last authors.
    RESULTS: A total of 539 manuscripts were published, comprising of 179 (33.2%) using the Adult Cardiac Surgery, 128 (23.7%) using the Congenital Heart Surgery, 85 (15.8%) using the General Thoracic Surgery, and 136 (25.2%) using unspecified STS National Databases. Collectively, the analyzed manuscripts have been cited 18,943 times, with a mean of 35.1 (range 0-528) citations per manuscript. Manuscripts were published in 97 journals with a mean year-adjusted CiteScore of 5.6 (range 0.1-60.2). Authors associated with 361 institutions contributed to published manuscripts. The mean h-index of first authors was 24.6 (range 0-100) and of last authors was 44.1 (range 0-164). From 2010-2020, first authors wrote a mean of 1.6 (range 1-31) and last authors wrote a mean of 1.9 (range 1-29) STS National Databases publications.
    CONCLUSIONS: The STS National Databases are some of the most robust data collection sources available to cardiothoracic surgeons. This data has enabled valuable research in respected journals from authors of varying experience levels.

      Air pollution is a global environmental health concern. Our study aims to examine the collective scientific impact of air pollution, children's respiratory health, and emergency department visits during the last five decades. Original articles, review papers, and conference proceedings in the English language published from 1972 to 2022 were obtained after a comprehensive search of the Scopus database using the terms air pollution, children, respiratory health, and emergency department visit. The Biblioshiny web application of the R software (R Foundation for Statistical Computing, Vienna, Austria) was used to analyse the publication trend and identify the top authors and journals of the subject. The countries' collaborative network was mapped, and the authors' trending keywords were tracked using a thematic map. In total, 1,309 publications authored by 6,342 authors from 483 sources were retrieved. Three distinctive collaborative network clusters were observed, with the United States as the connecting central node. Among the 39 trending keywords identified, particulate matter had constantly been a motor theme with an emerging interest in individual pollutants, specific diseases, and time series analysis. In conclusion, political will is a strong driver for research on air pollution, children's respiratory health, and emergency department visits, which is further enhanced by technological advancement that increases the availability and accessibility of air pollution and patient data. The trend for future studies is time series analysis and research on the impact of individual air pollutants on specific respiratory disorders in children.

      The Clinical Information Systems (CIS) section of the IMIA Yearbook of Medical Informatics systematically screens about 2,500 publications from more than 1,000 journals annually to find the best CIS publications. The editors of the CIS section have noticed a trend toward patient-centered care supported by AI and machine learning and increased research in cross-institutional data sharing, particularly in telemedicine. As a result, they adjusted their search query to include the MeSH term "telemedicine." As a preliminary step and to get a sense of the historical development of telemedicine research activity, they performed a bibliometric analysis of all previously published papers in PubMed indexed with the tag "Telemedicine" as MeSH Major Topic. They retrieved 29,289 publications from 1976 to 2022 and used their titles and abstracts to create a bibliometric network that visualizes the most relevant terms, their frequency and relationship to each other, and the chronological sequence of their publication. The development over time also shows a clear move toward patient-centeredness. Interestingly, the term "Covid," which has only recently come into use, takes on a central role in the network.

      Digitalization and sustainability are among the most critical mega-trends in 21st century. The nexus between digitalization and sustainability unfolds exciting opportunities in addressing global challenges, creating a just and sustainable society and laying the groundwork for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Several studies have reviewed the link between these two paradigms and how they mutually impact one another. However, most of these reviews are qualitative and manual literature reviews that are prone to subjectivity and so lacking the required rigor. Given the above, this study aims to provide a comprehensive and objective review of the knowledge base on how digitalization and sustainability actually and potentially contribute to each other and highlight the key research that links these two megatrends. A comprehensive bibliometric analysis of academic literature is conducted to objectively visualize the research status quo across time, disciplines, and countries. The Web of Science (WOS) database was searched for relevant publications published between January 1, 1900, and October 31, 2021. The search returned 8629 publications, of which 3405 were identified as primary documents pertaining to the study presented below. The Scientometrics analysis identified prominent authors, nations, organizations, prevalent research issues and examined how they have evolved chronologically. The critical review of results reveals four main domains in research on the nexus of sustainability and digitalization including Governance, Energy, Innovation, and Systems. The concept of Governance is developed within the Planning and Policy-making themes. Energy relates to the themes of emission, consumption, and production. Innovation has associated with the themes of business, strategy, and values & environment. Finally, systems interconnect with networks, industry 4.0, and the supply chain. The findings are intended to inform and stimulate more research and policy-making debate on the potential interconnection between sustainability and digitization, particularly in the post-COVID-19 era.

      Much of what we know about the intellectual landscape of anglophone demography comes from two sources: subjective narratives authored by leaders in the field, whose reviews and observations are derived from their research experience and field-specific knowledge; and professional histories covering the field's foundational controversies, which tend to focus on individuals, institutions, and influence. Here we use bibliographic information from all articles published in the three leading journals of anglophone demography-Demography, Population Studies, and Population and Development Review-to survey the changing contours of anglophone demography's key research areas over the past 70 years. We characterize the field of demography by applying a two-pronged, data-grounded approach from the sociology of science. The first uses natural language processing that lets the substance of the field emerge from the contents of publication records and applies social network analyses to identify groups of papers that talk about the same thing. The second uses bibliometric tools to capture the "conversations" of demography with other disciplines. Our goals are to (1) identify the primary topics of demography since the discipline first gained prominence as an organized field; (2) assess changes in the field's intellectual cohesion and the topical areas that have grown or shrunk; and (3) examine how demographers place their work in relationship to other disciplines, the visibility and influence of demographic research in the broader scientific literature, and the cross-disciplinary translational reach of demographic research. Results provide a dynamic view of the field's scientific development in the second half of the twentieth century and the first two decades of the twenty-first century.

       BACKGROUND: Though women now comprise approximately 21.5% of all neurosurgery residents in the United states, women only represent 10% of practicing neurosurgeons nationally.1,2 Serving as a journal editor is one measure of academic success. We investigated characteristics of editorial boards for top neurosurgical journals to identify factors influencing membership on editorial boards. We sought to identify gender differences to explain the paucity of women on editorial boards.
    METHODS: This is a cross-sectional study of editorial boards for the top 10 English-language neurosurgical journals. Data were obtained from journal websites, program faculty lists, or physician online profiles. Gender differences were compared using Student's t-test and chi-squared analysis.
    RESULTS: 722 editorial board members were examined (female n=65; male n=650; unidentified n=7). Overall, women had fewer years in practice(p=.002) and more often had additional advanced degrees(p=.009) while men had higher h-indices(p<.0001). Within the boards of Neurosurgery and Acta Neurochirurgica, men had been in practice longer(p=.014; p=.023), and had higher h-indices(p=.003; p=.025). Male editors for JNS: Spine and World Neurosurgery had higher h-indices(p=.007; p=.018).
    CONCLUSIONS: Women constitute ∼9% of editorial boards for top neurosurgical journals, a percentage comparable to the amount of practicing female academic neurosurgeons. This finding is encouraging in that there appears to be no readily identifiable bias in the selection of editorial board members. The differences in years in practice and h-index suggest that gender distribution may equalize with time as more women enter practice and produce scientific literature. Efforts to recruit and retain women in neurosurgery should be pursued to rectify this discrepancy.

      One of the main concerns of researchers and institutions is how to assess the future performance of scholars and identify their potential to become successful scientists. In this study, we model scholarly success in terms of the probability of a scholar belonging to a group of highly impactful scholars as determined by their citation trajectory structures. To this end, we developed a new set of impact measures based on a scholar's citation trajectory structure (rather than on absolute citation or h-index rates), that show a stable trend and scale for highly impactful scholars, independent of their field of study, seniority and citation index. These measures were then incorporated as influence factors into the logistic regression models and used as features for probabilistic classifiers based on these models to identify the successful scholars in the heterogeneous corpus of 400 of most and least cited professors from two Israeli universities. From the practical point of view, the study may yield useful insights and serve as an aid in making promotion decisions by institutions, as well as a self-assessment tool for researchers who strive to increase their academic influence and become leaders in their field.

This research study provides a comprehensive overview of the published international scientific studies on the effect of COVID-19 on the psychological well-being of young adults. This study aims to review the top-cited authors, documents, journals, productive countries, the most used keywords, and trending themes in this area. Articles related to psychological well-being during the COVID-19 pandemic from January 2020 to December 2022 were extracted from the Scopus database with specified keywords. In total, 482 documents were retrieved as original articles and bibliometric analysis, thematic analysis and content analysis are performed and analyzed. The results show that the United States has contributed the largest publications followed by the United Kingdom and Italy. Through the cluster analysis, it is found that many articles have been published and considered the psychological and mental impact of COVID-19. Young adults from both developed and developing countries are majorly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic prioritizes the importance of global psychological well-being and health care. This study focused on different aspects, such as stress, resilience, and the mental health of young adults. The research findings of this study put forth the urgent need to provide preventive policies and intervention procedures to address the psychological health of young adults and proposed a conceptual framework.

       OBJECTIVES: To characterize academic productivity for underrepresented minorities (URMs) vs non-URMs and by gender in Urology.
    METHODS: A database was created from 145 Urology residency programs. URM status was determined by origin of name, photo, biography, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Doximity. A PubMed query was performed for publication output. URM status, gender, post-graduate year/years of practice, and Doximity residency rank were factors in multivariable analysis.
    RESULTS: For residents, the median total publications was 2 [1,5] for URMs and 2 [1,5] for non-URMs (p=0.54). The median first/last author publications was 1 [0,2] for URMs and 1 [0,2] for non-URMs (p=0.79). The median total publications was 2 [0,4] for women and 2 [1,6] for men (p=0.003). The median first/last author publications was 1 [0,2] for women and 1 [0,2] for men (p=0.14). For faculty, the median total publications was 12 [3,32] for URMs and 19 [6,45] for non-URMs (p=0.0002). The median first/last author publications was 4.5 [1,12] for URMs and 7 [2,20] for non-URM faculty (p=0.0002). The median total publications was 11 [5,25] for women and 20 [6,49] for men (p<0.0001). The median first/last author publications was 4 [1,11] for women and 8 [2,22] for men (p<0.0001). On multivariable analysis, there was no difference in total publications and first/last author publications for URMs vs non-URMs. There remained a difference between genders for residents and faculty with total publications but not first/last author publications (p=0.002/p=0.10 residents, p=0.004/p=0.07 faculty).
    CONCLUSIONS: Academic productivity was not different in URMs and non-URMs for both residents and faculty. Men residents and faculty had more total publications compared to women.

       BACKGROUND: Gender differences remain a serious issue in the gastroenterology field, which negatively affect the career success and academic advancement of female gastroenterologists. In this study, we aim to identify gender differences in the authors of global major Gastroenterology Society guidelines.
    METHODS: We included six associations and collected guidelines published between 2003 and 2022. The genders of authors were determined and recorded for each guideline. Linear by linear association test was used to assess trends every 5 years.
    RESULTS: We included 210 guidelines and 461 authors. The proportion of female first and senior authors was 11.3% and 9.8%, respectively. The number of female first and senior authors in most societies has improved over the past 20 years, with the largest increase in the AGA.
    CONCLUSIONS: Women are still underrepresented among the authors of guidelines. Although gender differences have gained more attention in recent years, there are many obstacles to achieving gender equality.

      This study examines the patterns of faculty solicitations by open-access (OA) publishers in radiology. The purpose of the research is to determine the factors that predict the likelihood of receiving such solicitations. We recruited 6 faculty members from 7 subspecialties in radiology to collect emails from OA journals for 2 weeks. We assessed the number of publications by each faculty member in 2022 and 2023, the previous 5 years, and entire career in PubMed. For each email, the solicitation was categorized for article submission, article review, and editorial board membership. An invitation to submit a manuscript was the most common type of solicitation received, followed by editorial boards and reviewer invites. Faculty with more than 10 indexed articles in PubMed since January 2022 were significantly more likely to receive article solicitations than those with 10 or fewer publications. Additionally, scholars with more than 40 articles since 2018 were significantly more likely to receive more than 10 article solicitations. Full professors were significantly more likely to receive solicitations to serve on editorial boards. A multivariate linear regression model predicted that publications since 2022 had the highest predictive value for the number of article solicitations and total solicitations. This study provides insight into the patterns of mass communication and various solicitations by OA publishers in radiology. The study highlights the importance of publication productivity as a predictor of article and total email solicitations and of professorial rank for editorial board invitations.

      A total of 1534 and 308 articles were published in the journal Current Drug Delivery (CDD), from 2004 and 2019 to 2021, respectively. In this commentary, their impacts were analyzed based on search data about citation times in the Web of Science. These publications were categorized from different standpoints and evaluated in terms of their citations, particularly in the year 2021. The thematic, contemporary, and local features of these articles, as well as the article types and publication formats, were interpreted. Results demonstrated that CDD should be loyal to the contents about drug delivery, particularly nano-drug delivery systems and nano-pharmaceutical technologies. Publications from the developing and developed countries and regions showed no remarkable differences; therefore, submissions are similarly welcomed. Research articles and review articles are the main stream of CDD. The ratio of review papers is about 30%, which is reasonable but should not be further extended. Moreover, open publications with an article processing charge always have a high impact than those with subscription.

      Heme oxygenase (HO-2) is an enzyme mainly involved in the physiologic turnover of heme and intracellular gas sensing, and it is very abundant in the brain, testes, kidneys and vessels. Since 1990, when HO-2 was discovered, the scientific community has underestimated the role of this protein in health and disease, as attested by the small amount of articles published and citations received. One of the reason that have contributed to the lack of interest in HO-2 was the difficulty in upregulating or inhibiting this enzyme. However, over the last 10 years, novel HO-2 agonists and antagonists have been synthesized, and the availability of these pharmacological tools should increase the appeal of HO-2 as drug target. In particular, these agonists and antagonists could help explain some controversial aspects, such as the neuroprotective versus neurotoxic roles of HO-2 in cerebrovascular diseases. Furthermore, the discovery of HO-2 genetic variants and their involvement in Parkinson's disease, in particular in males, opens new avenues for pharmacogenetic studies in gender medicine.

       BACKGROUND: The gender disparity in surgical disciplines, specifically in speakers across North American medical and surgical specialty conferences, has been highlighted in recent literature. Improving gender diversity at society meetings and panels may provide many benefits. Our aim was to determine the state of gender diversity amongst presenters and speakers at the annual Canadian Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (CSO) meetings.
    METHODS: Scientific programs for the CSO annual meetings from 2008 to 2020 were obtained from the national society website. Participant name, role, gender, location, and subspecialty topic were recorded for all roles other than poster presenter. Gender (male or female) was determined using an online search. The total number of opportunity spots and proportion of women was then calculated. Gender differences were analyzed using chi-square test and logistic regression with odds ratios. Four categories were analyzed: Society Leadership, Invited Speaker Opportunities, Workshop Composition (male-only panels or "manels", female-only panels, or with at least one female speaker), and Oral Paper Presenters (first authors).
    RESULTS: There were 1874 leadership opportunity spots from 2008 to 2020, of which 18.6% were filled by women. Among elected leadership positions in the society, only 92 unique women filled 738 leadership opportunity spots. 13.2% of workshop chairs, 20.8% of panelists and 22.7% of paper session chairs were female. There was an overall increase in the proportion of leadership positions held by women, from 13.9% of leadership spots in 2008 to 30.1% in 2020. Of the 368 workshops, 61.1% were led by men only, 36.4% by at least 1 female surgeon, and 2.5% by women only. "Manels" have comprised at least 37.5% of workshops each year.
    CONCLUSIONS: The proportion of women in speaking roles at the annual CSO meetings has generally increased over time, particularly among panelists, leading to fewer male-only speaking panels. However, there has been a slower rate of growth in the proportion of unique women in speaker roles. There remains an opportunity to increase gender/sex diversity at the major Canadian otolaryngology meeting.

      Policy analysis provides multiple methods and tools for generating and transforming policy-relevant information and supporting policy evolution to address emerging social problems. In this study, a bibliometric analysis of a large number of studies on historical policy analysis was performed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the distribution and evolution of policy problems in different fields among countries. The analysis indicates that policy analysis has been a great concern for scholars in recent two decades, and is involved in multiple disciplines, among which the dominant ones are medicine, environment, energy and economy. The major concerns of policy analysts and scholars are human health needs, environmental pressures, energy consumption caused by economic growth and urbanization, and the resulting demand for sustainable development. The multidisciplinary dialog implies the complicated real-world social problems that calls for more endeavors to develop a harmonious society. A global profiling for policy analysis demonstrates that the central policy problems and the corresponding options align with national development, for example, developing countries represented by China are faced with greater environmental pressures after experiencing extensive economic growth, while developed countries such as the USA and the UK pay more attention to the social issues of health and economic transformation. Exploring the differences in policy priorities among countries can provide a new inspiration for further dialog and cooperation on the development of the international community in the future.

       PURPOSE: Previous work in urology has shown that men have higher h-indices than women. However, the degree to which h-indices vary by gender within urologic subspecialties has not been well defined. Herein, we assess gender differences in h-index amongst different subspecialties.
    MATERIALS AND METHODS: Demographics were recorded for academic urologists using residency program websites as of July 2021. Scopus was queried to identify h-indices. Gender differences in h-index were estimated from a linear mixed-effects regression model with fixed effects for gender, urologic subspecialty, MD/PhD status, years since first publication, interactions of subspecialty with years since first publication, and interactions of subspecialty with gender and random effects for AUA section and institution nested within AUA section. The Holm method was used to adjust for multiplicity (7 hypothesis tests).
    RESULTS: Of 1694 academic urologists from 137 institutions, 308 were women (18%). Median years since first publication was 20 for men (IQR 13, 29) and 13 for women (IQR 8, 17). Among all academic urologists, the median h-index was 8 points higher for men (15 [IQR 7, 27]) versus women (7 [IQR 5, 12]). There was no significant gender difference in h-index for any of the subspecialties after adjusting for urologist experience and after applying the Holm method for multiplicity correction.
    CONCLUSION: We were unable to demonstrate a gender difference in h-index after adjusting for urologist experience for any urologic subspecialties. Future study is warranted as women become more senior members of the urologic workforce.

       PURPOSE: This study aimed to identify the main keywords and research topics used in research on problematic smartphone use (PSU) among children (6-12 years old), including parental factors.
    METHODS: The publication period for the literature was set from January 2007 to January 2022, as smartphones were first released in 2007. In total, 395 articles were identified, 230 of which were included in the final analysis. Text network analysis was performed using NetMiner 4.5.
    RESULTS: Research on this topic has steadily increased since 2007, with 40 papers published in 2021. Eight main research topics were derived: group 1, parental attitudes; group 2, children's PSU behavior and parental support; group 3, family environment and behavioral addiction; group 4, social relationships; group 5, seeking solutions; group 6, parent-child relationships; group 7, children's mental health and school adaptation; and group 8, PSU in adolescents.
    CONCLUSION: Parental factors related to PSU have been studied in various aspects. However, more active research on school-age children's PSU needs to be conducted due to the paucity of research in this population compared to studies conducted among adolescents. The results of this study provide useful data for selecting research topics in the field of PSU.

       CONTEXT: The retraction of research papers, for whatever reason, is a growing phenomenon. However, although retracted paper information is publicly available via publishers, it is somewhat distributed and inconsistent.
    OBJECTIVE: The aim is to assess: (i) the extent and nature of retracted research in Computer Science (CS) (ii) the post-retraction citation behaviour of retracted works and (iii) the potential impact upon systematic reviews and mapping studies.
    METHOD: We analyse the Retraction Watch database and take citation information from the Web of Science and Google scholar.
    RESULTS: We find that of the 33,955 entries in the Retraction watch database (16 May 2022), 2,816 are classified as CS, i.e., ≈ 8%. For CS, 56% of retracted papers provide little or no information as to the reasons. This contrasts with 26% for other disciplines. There is also some disparity between different publishers, a tendency for multiple versions of a retracted paper to be available beyond the Version of Record (VoR), and for new citations long after a paper is officially retracted (median = 3; maximum = 18). Systematic reviews are also impacted with ≈ 30% of the retracted papers having one or more citations from a review.
    CONCLUSIONS: Unfortunately, retraction seems to be a sufficiently common outcome for a scientific paper that we as a research community need to take it more seriously, e.g., standardising procedures and taxonomies across publishers and the provision of appropriate research tools. Finally, we recommend particular caution when undertaking secondary analyses and meta-analyses which are at risk of becoming contaminated by these problem primary studies.

      Background: The subspecialty of allergy and immunology (AI) has grown tremendously since the first fellowship programs were developed nearly 80 years ago; however, there is little information with regard to the demographic characteristics and trends in training of fellowship directors (FDs). Objective: Our goal was to analyze the demographic characteristics and pathways in training that have led FDs to advance in the field and train the next generation of allergists and immunologists. Methods: We created a list of all current AI fellowship programs and FDs within the United States. Specific biographical, training, and research information was collected via an Internet search and questionnaire responses. The data were recorded and analyzed in a spreadsheet and unpaired t-tests were performed between male versus female groups for H - index comparison to establish if there was a statistically significant difference. Results: There were 84 total AI fellowship programs with 84 FDs. Forty-one FDs (48.8%) were men and 43 FDs (51.2%) were women; mean age was 51.1 years; and the average age at appointment for men was 45.7 years and for women was 41.4 years, with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.02). Self-reported race and ethnicity (77.4% response rate [n = 65]) were as follows: 55.4% white (n = 36), 23.1% Asian (n = 15), 6.2% biracial (n = 4), 7.7% Middle Eastern (n = 5), 4.6% Hispanic (n = 3), and 3.1% Black (n = 2). The average Hirsch-index (h-index) for FDs was 14.2, with an average of 42.1 publications and 1532.2 citations. The difference between the h-index for the men and for the women was statistically significant, being 17.8 and 11.2 respectively, with p = 0.0143. Conclusion: In AI FDs, women were adequately represented, and men and women were hired at similar ages. There was a statistically significant difference in research output (estimated by the h-index) between men and women. This suggests that research output did not limit women in being appointed as FDs.

      In many countries, COVID-19 has made it harder for women to study because they are expected to do more housework and care for children. This article encompasses different data sources that can be used to figure out how the early pandemic of COVID-19 affected the number of studies done by females, in comparison with males. This data is add-on metadata that can be used with raw Microsoft Academic Graph (MAG) from 2016 to 2020 of the Feb 6, 2021 dump. We retrieved open-source metadata from various sources, including LinkedIn, the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, and Google's COVID-19 Community Mobility Reports, and linked bibliographic information to characteristics of the author's environments. It consists of published journals and online preprints, including each author's gender and involvement in the publication, their position through time, the h-index of their institutes, and gender equality in the professional labor market at the country level. For each record of papers, the data also includes the information of the papers, e.g., title and field of study. By gathering this evidence, our data can support the fact diversity in science is more than just the number of active members of different groups. It should also examine minority participation in science. Our data may help scholars understand diversity in science and advance it. The article ``The effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on gendered research productivity and its correlates'' uses this data as the principal source (Kwon, Yun & Kang, 2021).

       OBJECTIVE: The San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) advocates for assessing biomedical research quality and impact, yet academic organizations continue to employ traditional measures such as Journal Impact Factor. We aimed to identify and prioritize measures for assessing research quality and impact.
    METHODS: We conducted a review of published and grey literature to identify measures of research quality and impact, which we included in an online survey. We assembled a panel of researchers and research leaders, and conducted a two-round Delphi survey to prioritize measures rated as high (rated 6 or 7 by ≥ 80% of respondents) or moderate (rated 6 or 7 by ≥ 50% of respondents) importance.
    RESULTS: We identified 50 measures organized in 8 domains: relevance of the research program, challenges to research program, or productivity, team/open science, funding, innovations, publications, other dissemination, and impact. Rating of measures by 44 panelists (60%) in Round One and 24 (55%) in Round Two of a Delphi survey resulted in consensus on the high importance of 5 measures: research advances existing knowledge, research plan is innovative, an independent body of research (or fundamental role) supported by peer-reviewed research funding, research outputs relevant to discipline, and quality of the content of publications. Five measures achieved consensus on moderate importance: challenges to research productivity, potential to improve health or healthcare, team science, collaboration, and recognition by professional societies or academic bodies. There was high congruence between researchers and research leaders across disciplines.
    CONCLUSIONS: Our work contributes to the field by identifying 10 DORA-compliant measures of research quality and impact, a more comprehensive and explicit set of measures than prior efforts. Research is needed to identify strategies to overcome barriers of use of DORA-compliant measures, and to "de-implement" traditional measures that do not uphold DORA principles yet are still in use.

       BACKGROUND: To facilitate the development of impactful research dissemination strategies, this study aimed to: (i) survey authors of trials included in a sample of Cochrane reviews to describe strategies to disseminate trial findings, and examine their association with academic and policy impacts and (ii) audit academic and policy impact of CPH reviews.
    METHODS: Authors of 104 trials within identified Cochrane reviews completed survey items assessing the dissemination strategies. Field weighted citation (FWCI) data extracted from bibliographic databases served as a measure of academic impact of trials and CPH reviews. Policy and practice impacts of trials were assessed during the survey of trial authors using items based on the Payback Framework, and for CPH reviews using 'policy mention' data collected via Altmetric Explorer.
    RESULTS: Among the included trials, univariate (but not multivariable) regression models revealed significant associations between the use of dissemination strategies (i.e. posts on social media; workshops with end-users; media-releases) and policy or practice impacts. No significant associations were reported between dissemination strategies and trial FWCI. The mean FWCI of CPH reviews suggest that they are cited 220% more than other reviews in their field.
    CONCLUSIONS: Comprehensive dissemination strategies are likely required to maximize the potential the potential impacts of public health research.
