       Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the current research hotspots and development tendency of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) in the field of neurobiology from a bibliometric perspective by providing visualized information to scientists and clinicians.
    Materials and methods: Publications related to tDCS published between 2000 and 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) on May 5, 2022. Bibliometric features including the number of publications and citations, citation frequency, H-index, journal impact factors, and journal citation reports were summarized using Microsoft Office Excel. Co-authorship, citation, co-citation, and co-occurrence analyses among countries, institutions, authors, co-authors, journals, publications, references, and keywords were analyzed and visualized using CiteSpace (version 6.1.R3).
    Results: A total of 4,756 publications on tDCS fulfilled the criteria we designed and then were extracted from the WOSCC. The United States (1,190 publications, 25.02%) and Harvard University (185 publications, 3.89%) were the leading contributors among all the countries and institutions, respectively. NITSCHE MA and FREGNI F, two key researchers, have made great achievements in tDCS. Brain Stimulation (306 publications) had the highest number of publications relevant to tDCS and the highest number of citations (4,042 times). In terms of potential hotspots, we observed through reference co-citation analysis timeline viewer related to tDCS that "depression"#0, "Sensorimotor network"#10, "working memory"#11, and "Transcranial magnetic stimulation"#9 might be the future research hotspots, while keywords with the strong burst and still ongoing were "intensity" (2018-2022), "impairment" (2020-2022), "efficacy" (2020-2022), and "guideline" (2020-2022).
    Conclusion: This was the first-ever study of peer-reviewed publications relative to tDCS using several scientometric and visual analytic methods to quantitatively and qualitatively reveal the current research status and trends in the field of tDCS. Through the bibliometric method, we gained an in-depth understanding of the current research status and development trend on tDCS. Our research and analysis results might provide some practical sources for academic scholars and clinicians.

       Background: The field of rehabilitation medicine plays an essential role in the comprehensive management of osteoporosis and its consequences. The benefits of therapeutic exercise are increasingly being recognized in this area, which receives an increasing number of publications. this study was designed to comprehensively identify collaborative networks, parse and track research trends, spotlight present hotspots, and accurately predict frontiers and focus on the health topics related to osteoporosis rehabilitation.
    Methods: This research adopted computer retrieval of osteoporosis rehabilitation-related research published in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) from inception to June 14, 2022. The bibliometric visualization and comparative analysis involving countries, institutions, journals, authors, references, and keywords were performed using the CiteSpace and VOSviewer software.
    Results: A total of 3,268 articles were included, and the number of articles published each year has demonstrated a steady increase. The United States and the University of Melbourne were the highest productive country and institution, with 1,325 and 87 articles, respectively. The journal of osteoporosis international has published the greatest number of articles, with 221 publications, and the journal of bone and mineral research ranked first in the co-citation counts (cited by 11,792 times). The most productive and highly-cited authors were Heinonen A and Cummings S, with 35 publications and 680 citations.
    Conclusions: At present, "physical activity," "weight bearing exercise," "muscle strength," "whole body vibration," "postmenopausal women," "older women," children, men are the noteworthy research hot topics. Future research that focus on the major modes and parameters of physical activity/exercise for osteoporosis (including whole body vibration, weight bearing exercises, resistance training), targeted multicomponent training regimens, rehabilitation therapy for postmenopausal women, older women, children and men, osteoporosis related-sarcopenia and fractures, and mesenchymal stem cells are becoming frontiers and focus on the health topics related to osteoporosis rehabilitation in the upcoming years, which are worthy of further exploration.

       Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is the leading cause of skin-related disease burden worldwide, affecting a large percentage of the population. Bibliometrics is the statistical analysis of academic literature in a certain field.
    Objectives: We aimed to perform the latest bibliometric analysis of atopic dermatitis literature.
    Methods: We searched the Web of Science database on 29th Nov 2021. We used the keywords "atopic dermatitis," "atopic eczema," and "eczema" for our search. All items published between 2001 and 2021 were included. The top 100 most cited articles were identified and analyzed.
    Results: Our study provided a detailed bibliometric analysis of the top 100 most cited articles on atopic dermatitis. These articles were published between 2002 and 2019 and were from 15 different countries, mostly in the USA and Germany. Most articles have focused on the pathogenesis and treatment of AD. The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology made the greatest contribution to the top 100 list, with 28 articles. The most cited article originated from Lancet. The highest number of citations was seen in 2006, with 9220 citations, while the highest number of publications was seen in 2006 with 12 publications.
    Conclusions: Our study aims to provide physicians and researchers with a historical perspective for the scientific progress of atopic dermatitis, and help clinicians effectively obtain useful articles that have a significant impact on the field of atopic dermatitis.

       Background: Transient receptor potential channels are the major temperature and nociceptive receptors in the human body and transient receptor potential melastatin 8 (TRPM8) is the cold-sensitive and non-selective cation channel. In our study, we performed a bibliometric analysis of TRPM8 from 2002 to 2021 to summarize the current research status and potential research direction in the future.
    Methods: The TRPM8-related publications were selected from the Web of Science Core Collection SCI-EXPANDED database from 2002 to 2021. The publication details, such as authors, titles, and author keywords, were used for bibliometric analysis and network visualization to present the current state of TRPM8 research.
    Results: A total of 1035 articles met the inclusion criteria. The number of TRPM8-related articles has grown rapidly over the past two decades. The USA has the largest number of publications, citations, and international collaborations. The TRPM8-related articles are mainly published and cited in neurological journals, such as the Journal of Neuroscience (41 publications and 2171 local citations). Prevarskaya N. has the most publications (26), and Patapoutian A. has been cited the most (1414 local citations). The popular disciplines in TRPM8 research include Neurosciences and Neurology, Pharmacology and Pharmacy, Biochemistry, and Molecular Biology. Research hotspots are mainly TRP channel, calcium, prostate cancer, proliferation, pain, cold, nociception, and inflammation.
    Conclusion: Our bibliometric analysis demonstrates that the number of TRPM8 studies has increased from 2002 to 2021. The global research trends and hotspots include the activation mechanism of TRPM8 in neurons, the role of TRPM8 in neuronal and non-neuronal diseases, and therapeutic target research.

       Background: Congenital insensitivity to pain with anhidrosis (CIPA) is a very rare inherited autosomal recessive disease that has multiple clinical manifestations. Since its symptoms are related to different systems, this disorder has been investigated on a variety of topics. To better understand publications about CIPA, we conducted a bibliometric study to evaluate research publications on CIPA from 2000 to 2021, and delineate the key contributions in terms of countries, authors and sources.
    Methods: Quantitative analysis of publications on CIPA from 2000 to 2021 was interpreted and graphed through the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection. The bibliometric package in R 4.1.1, VOSviewer 1.6.18, and GraphPad Prism 8.4 were used to conduct the bibliometric analysis.
    Results: From 2000 to 2021, a total of 163 publications were retrieved. China had the largest number of publications (n = 31), while Japan had the highest number of citations (621 citations). Levy J and Indo Y were perhaps the most impactful researchers in the field of CIPA. The co-authorship of authors and institutions indicated little cooperation on CIPA research between different countries. Annals of Neurology (n=5) and Nature Genetics (120 citations) were the most productive and cited journals, respectively, and the top 10 local cited references clarified the theoretical basis of the CIPA research area. Furthermore, the important topics on CIPA mainly include NTRK1 mutations and nerve growth factor (NGF).
    Conclusion: Based on the bibliometric analysis, we have a comprehensive view of the global status of CIPA research, and the results indicate that CIPA needs more attention and cooperation to facilitate the study of its pathological mechanisms.

       Objective: In order to determine research hotspots and prospective directions, this work used VOSviewer and CiteSpace to assess the current state of insular epilepsy research.
    Methods: We looked for pertinent research about insular epilepsy published between the first of January 2000 and the thirtieth of April 2022 in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to build a knowledge atlas by analyzing authors, institutions, countries, keywords with citation bursts, keyword clustering, keyword co-occurrence, publishing journals, reference co-citation patterns, and other factors.
    Results: A total of 305 publications on insular epilepsy were found. Nguyen DK had the most articles published (37), whereas Mauguière F and Isnard J had the highest average number of citations/publications (39.37 and 38.09, respectively). The leading countries and institutions in this field were the United States (82 papers) and Université de Montréal (40 papers). Authors, countries, and institutions appear to be actively collaborating. Hot topics and research frontiers included surgical treatment, functional network connectivity, and the application of neuroimaging methods to study insular epilepsy.
    Conclusion: In summary, the most influential articles, authors, journals, organizations, and countries on the subject of insular epilepsy were determined by this analysis. This study investigated the area of insular epilepsy research and forecasted upcoming trends using co-occurrence and evolution methods.

       Purpose: The aim of this study is to comprehensively analyze the publications of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) research and display the current research status in this field.
    Methods: Articles regarding ACLR research published before October 7, 2021, were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection. Excel 2016 and Bibliometric website were used to analyze the annual article trends and international cooperation network. CiteSpace V and VOSviewer were used to perform co-occurrence and citation analyses for journals, institutions, authors, cocitation authors and keywords. Burst keyword detection was also performed with CiteSpace V.
    Results: A total of 12 223 ACLR articles were identified. The American Journal of Sports Medicine (1636 publications, 92,310 citations), the Pennsylvania Commonwealth System of Higher Education (624 publications, 25,304 citations) and Freddie H. Fu (321 publications, 15,245 citations) were journals, institutions and authors with the most publications and citations, respectively. Patellar tendon was the keyword with the most occurrences (1618 times) and return to sport was the keyword with the most burst strength (burst strength: 46.99).
    Conclusion: ACLR-related publications showed a rapid increasing trend since 1990. A large number of articles have been published by authors from different institutions and countries, some of which have gained great academic influence. Based on keyword analysis, patellar tendon is identified as the research hotspot and return to sport is identified as the current research frontier.

       Purpose: Fibromyalgia Syndrome causes great physical and mental discomfort and incurs high costs. Acupuncture has been regarded as the mainstay of treatment for Fibromyalgia Syndrome while the bibliometric analysis of this field has not been summarized properly. Thus, the purpose of this study is to analyze the hotspot of acupuncture for Fibromyalgia Syndrome.
    Methods: The core collection database of Web of Science were searched for relevant publications from 2000 to 2021, and countries, institutions, authors, keywords, and literature were analyzed and visualized by bibliometric software CiteSpace V software and Vosviewer software, to explore the scientific achievements, research collaboration networks, research hot spots, and research trends.
    Results: 868 publications were included in this study. The publications have increased steadily over time, and the type published the most is Article. Pain is the most cited journal. The most prolific country is the USA while the most prolific institution is Univ Michigan. The most prolific and influential authors were Yiwen Lin and Wolfe F respectively. The analysis of keywords and literature showed that long-term efficacy, animal studies, alternative medicine, and electroacupuncture will be the scientific hotspots in acupuncture for fibromyalgia.
    Conclusion: This study shows that the number of research studies, researchers, and research institutions on acupuncture for fibromyalgia is increasing from year to year. Future research hotspots will focus on the long-term efficacy of acupuncture in the treatment of fibromyalgia, experimental animal studies, and the development of other alternative medical therapies. In addition, electroacupuncture is receiving more and more attention as a new application of traditional acupuncture therapy.

      Recent years have seen a burgeoning interest in the involvement of corporate sustainability (CS) in sustainable development (SD), yet both concepts are fewer and newer in the academic field. This study aims to present a thorough bibliometric analysis that provides fresh new insights on the subject. Using VOSviewer software, this study analyzed and visualized 1214 documents for the period 2005-2021 in the Web of Science (WoS) database. The findings of the study indicate that the co-theme CS and SD are lasting but thriving research subjects. The findings also revealed that authors from the USA published the highest number of articles followed by the UK, Spain, Italy, and Germany. The co-authorship network showed strong links between these countries. Three main clusters are identified based on research titles frequently co-cited and have significant co-citation connections. In general, this study provides valuable insight into the current status and future trends for research on SDGs. The outcome of the study could be useful to policymakers, regulators, sustainability practitioners, and researchers in understanding the key research areas, influential authors, institutions, and countries actively involved in the field. Considering the involvement of corporate sustainability in sustainable development is a useful and informative endeavor for all community actors. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this is the first comprehensive study that presents the holistic picture of CS and SD-related research to identify the knowledge map between the two subjects.

       BACKGROUND: Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome (WAS) is a rare X-linked primary immunodeficiency disorder. Despite our enormous progress in the strategies used to diagnose, treat, and cure WAS, no bibliometric studies have been performed in this research field. This study explored the trends in WAS research through a bibliometric analysis evaluating relevant literature quantitatively and qualitatively.
    METHODS: The literature concerning WAS from 2001 to 2021 was retrieved from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-expanded) of the Web of Science Core Collection database. Acquired data were then visually analyzed using CiteSpace and VOSviewer.
    RESULTS: 2036 papers were included in the final analysis. The annual publication outputs reached its peak in 2013 but declined in recent years. The dominant position of the United States in WAS research was quite obvious. Harvard University (USA), University College London (UK), and Inserm (France) were the three most prolific institutions. Adrian J. Thrasher exerted significant publication impact and made the most notable contributions in the field of WAS. Blood was the most influential journal with the highest publication outputs, and nearly all the top 10 journals and co-cited journals belonged to Q1. Immune dysregulation, thrombocytopenia, syndrome protein deficiency, stem cell, mutation, and diagnosis were the keywords with the strongest citation burst.
    CONCLUSION: From 2001 to 2021, the United States was a global leader in the WAS research. Collaboration between countries and institutions is expected to deepen and strengthen in the future. Research hotspots included pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and therapy. Our results suggest a greater understanding of the mechanistic underpinnings of immune dysfunction in WAS patients, the application of targeted therapies for individual complications, and the development of curative approaches, which will remain research hotspots in the future.

       ​Background: Immunotherapy for lung cancer has been a hot research area for years. This bibliometric analysis aims to present the research trends on lung cancer immunotherapy.
    Method: On 1 July, 2022, the authors identified 2,941 papers on lung cancer immunotherapy by the Web of Science and extracted their general information and the total number of citations. A bibliometric analysis was carried out to present the research landscape, demonstrate the research trends, and determine the most cited papers (top papers) as well as major journals on lung cancer immunotherapy. After that, recent research hotspots were analyzed based on the latest publications in major journals.
    Results: These 2,941 papers were cited a total of 122,467 times. "Nivolumab vs. docetaxel in advanced non-squamous non-small-cell lung cancer" published in 2015 by Borghaei H et al. was the most cited paper (5,854 citations). Among the journals, New England Journal of Medicine was most influential. Corresponding authors represented China took part in most articles (904) and papers with corresponding authors from the USA were most cited (139.46 citations per paper). Since 2015, anti-PD-(L)1 has become the hottest research area.
    Conclusions: This bibliometric analysis comprehensively and quantitatively presents the research trends and hotspots based on thousands of publications, and further suggests future research directions. Moreover, the results can benefit researchers to select journals and find potential collaborators. This study can help researchers get a comprehensive impression of the research landscape, historical development, and recent hotspots in lung cancer immunotherapy and provide inspiration for further research.

      This research provides an overview of the current state of scientific literature related to suicide and physical activity (PA). A bibliometric analysis of studies published between 1996 and 2022 in The Web of Science (WoS) was carried out, applying the traditional bibliometric laws, using Microsoft Excel and the VOSviewer software for data and metadata processing. A total of 368 documents (349 primary research and 19 reviews) were extracted from 70 WoS categories. The results revealed an exponential increase in scientific production from 2017 to 2022 (R2 = 88%), revealing the United States hegemony being the most productive country, with 156 of the publications (42.4%), the most cited (4181 citations) being the centre of a collaborative network with links to 35 countries and having April Smith, from the Miami University, as the most prolific author (eight publications) and Thomas Joiner, from the Florida State University, as the most cited author (513 citations). The Psychiatry WoS category, with 155 papers, had the highest number of publications, and The Journal of Affective Disorders, from Elsevier, had the highest number of published papers within this category.

       OBJECTIVE: There has been an increase in number of Neurosurgical publications including open access approach over the recent years. We aim to compare the Journal's performance and its relationship to the submission fee incurred in publication. We have performed an in-depth analysis of various Neurosurgical journals' performance in terms of the bibliometrics and have attempted to determine if there is any impact of the cost incurred to the quality of Journal's output.
    METHODS: We identified 53 journals issuing neurosurgical-related work. Quantitative analysis from various search engines involved obtaining H indices, journal citations indicators, and other journal's metrics such as immediacy index and 5-year impact factor utilising Journal Citation Reports from Clarivate software. Open access fees, coloured print costs, and individual subscription fees were collected. Correlations were produced using Spearmen Rho (ρ), p<0.05.
    RESULTS: Median H indices for 53 journals is 54 (range: 0-292), with journal citation indicators median reported at 0.785 (range: 0-2.45). Median immediacy indices are 0.797 (range: 0-4.076) and the median for 5-year impact factor is 2.76 (range: 0-12.704). There is a very strong positive correlation between JCI and immediacy indices, JCI and 5-year impact factor and 5-year impact factor and immediacy indices (ρ >0.7, p < .05). There is a moderate positive correlation between the H index and JCI (ρ= 0.399, p = 0.004). It is unclear whether there is any correlation between the indices and the OA costs and subscription costs for personal usage respectively (p > 0.05).
    CONCLUSIONS: Our analysis indicates that larger costs incurred for open access fees and subscription costs for personal use are not clearly reflected upon the journals' performance and this is quantified by utilising various indices. There appears to be a strong association within performance across the journals' metrics. It would be beneficial to include learning about the bibliometric indices' impact for research publications in the medical education training to maximise the quality of the scientific work produced and increase the visibility of the information produced. The potential full movement to OA exclusive journals would form a significant barrier for junior researchers, small institutions, or full time-trainee doctors with limited funding available. This study suggests the need for a robust measurement of the journals' output and the quality of the work produced.

       Purpose: This study was conducted to characterize the gender disparities within academic pain management departments in the United States, specifically focusing on its relation to research and academic leadership. This will allow for targeted improvements in efforts made to reduce gender gaps within academic pain medicine.
    Methods: This is a retrospective, cross-sectional analysis study evaluating pain management faculty of various positions at academic institutions across the United States. We utilized publicly available data on faculty positions and sex to analyze research impact, H-index, number of publications and citations through bibliometric and linear regression analysis.
    Results: Our analysis found that female faculty had significantly less research output to male faculty. The three research measurement indices used in this study including H-index, number of publications, and number of citations were significantly lower in females than in males among associate and full professor faculty ranking. Multivariable analysis did not display any significant disparities of research output at the division director and department chair level.
    Discussion: As in many areas of medicine, there continues to be a significant gender disparity in academic pain management departments, particularly with regard to leadership positions and research impact within the field. Our study found that female pain physicians had a significantly less research output based on the three variables of H indices, number of publications, and number of citations compared to their male counterparts. This has been shown to have the impact on discrepancies in female faculty ranking. Interestingly, these variables were not significantly different between male and female faculty members of the same level of leadership except for program director. There are various contributory reasons for these disparities, including implicit biases, lack of mentorship, and familial obligations. Addressing some of these factors can help narrow the schism and promote greater gender equality within academic pain management.

       BACKGROUND: Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI) has a negative effect on activities of daily living.
    OBJECTIVE: Although a number of studies have been published on PSCI, no quantitative studies have yet been conducted.
    METHOD: CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to quantitatively analyze PSCI to illustrate the research hotspots and trends in PSCI. All relevant publications were extracted from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) of the Web of Science (WoS).
    RESULTS: A total of 6536 articles were included in this study. From 349 in 2010 to 942 in 2020, the number of publications increased dramatically. The USA maintained the top position worldwide and provided a vital influence. Harvard University was considered the leader in research collaboration among all institutions. Stroke was the most popular journal in this sector and Vincent Mok published the most articles in this area. We analyzed the keywords and identified five research hotspot clusters. By summarizing the literature on PSCI, we considered the publication information regarding different countries, institutions, authors and journals.
    CONCLUSION: The mechanism of PSCI is an active hotspot. Cerebral vascular disease, especially white matter lesions, also received more attention.

       BACKGROUND: Self-efficacy is one of the important factors affecting chronic diseases. In the current epidemiological context of low back pain (LBP), LBP self-efficacy has become a topic of great practical interest for researchers. However, no bibliometric analysis related to LBP self-efficacy has been performed to date. The purpose of this study was to conduct and explore the current state of research in LBP self-efficacy from 1980 to 2021, by using bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping.
    METHODS: Raw data were selected from the Web of Science (WOS) database, relevant literature on LBP self-efficacy was retrieved, data were de-duplicated and cleaned. Excel was used for data processing. CiteSpace 5.8.R3 was used for bibliometric analysis and scientific mapping in publications and country, institution, journals, authors, references, and key words. Statistical analysis was performed using IBM SPSS 25.0.
    RESULTS: There were 822 references included. For this period, the total publication numbers were increased. A total of 103 regions had researchers in this area, the United States was the country with the largest volume of research. There were 94 disciplines, mainly in neuroscience. More research is likely to burst and develop quickly in general & internal medicine in the future. Spine was the most recognized journal. Cognitive behavioral manifestations and older adults with LBP might be the frontiers and trends.
    CONCLUSION: The volume of literature on LBP self-efficacy has increased linearly over the past 41 years and will continue to increase. The field of study has become more refined. This bibliometric analysis provides valuable support for future directions and research trends in LBP self-efficacy.

      The aim of this study was to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the scientific articles on advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and obesity. English-language journal articles about AGEs and obesity were retrieved from the Scopus database. The OpenRefine application was used for data cleaning, the VOSviewer software program for analysis of the trends of year of publication, country, institution, journal, authors, references, and keywords. Microsoft Excel and Tableau Public were applied for the visualizing of the publication trends. Data collection was performed on 3 February 2022, from a total of 1170 documents. The Mann-Whitney test and Spearman test with software SPSS ver.28.0.1.1. were used to assess the relation between open access journal statuses, years of publications, and CiteScore. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in studies on processed foods, including AGEs and obesity. The United States was the country with the largest contribution in this field, with the highest number of citations. The Nutrients journal published the largest number of articles on this topic, particularly in the last two years. The present focus of the studies is on ultra-processed foods. The open access journals have younger medians of the year of publication and higher medians for number of citations than do closed access journals (p &lt; 0.001 and p &lt; 0.05, respectively). A strong negative association was seen between CiteScore and the year of publication (r = -0.64 [95% CI: -0.67, -0.60]), p &lt; 0.001. We present this bibliometric analysis to furnish the most recent data on the description, visualization, and analysis of AGEs and obesity.

      The current study established a research mapping of the vaccine design using bibliometric indicators and network visualization. For an analysis of the result, the study retrieved a total of 5379 documents from Scopus from 1983 to 2021. The study used the VOS Viewer and the RStudio tools for data visualization. The findings revealed that there has been significant growth in literature on vaccine design in the last two decades; in the last ten years, the year with the most publications were 2020, with 477 publications, and the highest had a total of 14,145 citations. D.R. Burton was ranked as the most prolific author, with 86 publications and 18,449 total citations and was observed as the most frequently published author in the domain. The National Institute of Health (NIH) was the most productive organization in the domain, with 266 publications. The document entitled "Genome analysis of multiple pathogenic isolates of Streptococcus agalactiae" received a total of 1398 citations, and was the most cited document in the field of vaccine design. In network visualization, an analysis of the co-occurrence of keywords showed that "vaccine" and "vaccine design" occurred the most, which was 761 and 335 times, respectively. The study also observed that there were five clusters of author collaboration with a maximum of 18 authors and a minimum of two authors. The findings of the study will aid scholarly coalitions in the domains of medicine and health, information science and bibliometric professionals to carry out further research in the area of vaccine design.

      Monkeypox is a zoonotic viral disease that has recently emerged as another global infection disease. A double-stranded enveloped deoxyribonucleic acid virus the cause of this disease. Since monkeypox is an evolving field of study with a growing interest in public health, it is crucial to study the scientific trend and research activities. This study provides an essential insight into the research response to scientific trends of monkeypox using the bibliometric analysis technique. A literature search for published articles on LSD from 2001 to 2021 was conducted in Scopus on 24 July 2022. Visualization analysis was performed using R statistical software. The growth and trend of documents, country-level distribution of publications and collaborations, and the relationship between authors and co-authors were analyzed. Findings revealed a significant increase in the research conducted, mainly from the United States (US). The top 12 institutions published papers on the monkeypox virus, accounting for 33.09 percent of the articles. The US was the most productive nation, producing 275 documents (54.34%), or one-third of all publications in this sector worldwide. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Georgia in the United States were the organization that produced the most (365 publications). The Journal of Virology garnered the most citations, with an h-index of 18. In the last year, there has been an increase in the publication of monkeypox virus-related studies. The importance of the monkeypox virus highlights the necessity for continued research to help international health organizations identify areas that require prompt action to implement suitable solutions. This study also provides scaling-up analysis, evidence dissemination on the monkeypox virus, emerging hotspots, and perceptive remarks on the technological advances in this field.

      In recent years, Wearable Devices have been used in a wide variety of applications and fields, but because they span so many different disciplines, it is difficult to ascertain the intellectual structure of this entire research domain. No review encompasses the whole research domain related to Wearable Devices. In this study, we collected articles on wearable devices from 2001 to 2022 and quantitatively organized them by bibliometric analysis to clarify the intellectual structure of this research domain as a whole. The cluster analysis, co-occurrence analysis, and network centrality analysis were conducted on articles collected from the Web of Science. As a result, we identified one cluster that represents applied research and two clusters that represent basic research in this research domain. Furthermore, focusing on the top two countries contributing to this research domain, China and the USA., it was confirmed that China is extremely inclined toward basic research and the USA. toward applied research, indicating that applied and basic research are in balance. The basic intellectual structure of this cross-sectional research domain was identified. The results summarize the current state of research related to Wearable Devices and provide insight into trends.

       INTRODUCTION: This bibliometric analysis evaluates the most influential studies in clinical research on melanoma.
    METHODS: Based on the bibliometric theory, articles in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science database were analyzed. Full English-language articles were searched for using the terms melanoma, superficial spreading melanoma, nodular melanoma, lentigo maligna melanoma, and acral lentiginous melanoma. The 100 most-cited articles were analyzed by topic, author, journal of publication, year of publication, institution, and country of origin.
    RESULTS: The search returned 243,109 articles, with the majority from the past 3 decades: 1991-2000 (n = 29), 2001-2010 (n = 28), and 2011-2020 (n = 30). The top 100 cited articles had mean and median citations of 2,159 and 1,793, respectively. An article on the use of ipilimumab in metastatic melanoma, by Hodi et al., was most cited (8,150). The New England Journal of Medicine had the most citations (58,489), and Nature published the most articles (n = 21). The United States published the most articles (n = 81), led by the National Cancer Institute (n = 16). The majority of articles explored management (n = 68), prognosis (n = 57), and immunotherapy (n = 27).
    CONCLUSIONS: This analysis serves as a guide for future research and highlights key areas of research, particularly in genetics and immunotherapy, that have influenced current knowledge of melanoma.

      Proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) with high density and safe reliability has been extensively studied in the world. With the circumstance of extensive PEMFC research, in this study we carried out a bibliometric analysis to understand the technological development. The information of 17,769 related publications from 1990 to 2022 was retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection for bibliometric analysis based on the VOSviewer tool. The results show that the International Journal of Hydrogen Energy dominates among all of the source journals. The closest collaboration is between China and the USA, and publications from both of those account for 53.9% of the total. In terms of institutions, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has prolific publications, in which representative groups, such as Shao Zhigang's, have achieved many outputs in this field. The theme of PEMFC research can be divided into three aspects: "materials", "design" and "mechanisms". This study demonstrated overall mapping knowledge domain and systematic analysis, and contributed to making a guide for researchers on the progress and trends of PEMFC.

       Background and purpose: Pathologic myopia (PM) is an international public health issue. This study aimed to analyze PM research trends by reporting on publication trends since 2000 and identifying influential journals, countries, authors, and keywords involved in PM.
    Methods: A bibliometric analysis was performed to evaluate global production and development trends in PM since 2000 and the keywords associated with PM.
    Results: A total of 1,435 publications were retrieved. PM has become a fascinating topic (with relative research interest ranging from 0.0018% in 2000 to 0.0044% in 2021) and a global public health issue. The top three countries with the highest number of publications were China, the USA, and Japan. The journals, authors, and institutions that published the most relevant literature came from these three countries. China exhibited the most rapid increase in the number of publications (from 0 in 2000 to 69 in 2021). Retina published the most papers on PM. Kyoko Ohno-Matsui and Tokyo Medical and Dental University contributed the most publications among authors and institutions, respectively. Based on keyword analysis, previous research emphasized myopic choroidal neovascularization and treatment, while recent hotspots include PM changes based on multimodal imaging, treatment, and pathogenesis. Keyword analysis also revealed that deep learning was the latest hotspot and has been used for the detection of PM.
    Conclusion: Our results can help researchers understand the current status and future trends of PM. China, the USA, and Japan have the greatest influence, based on the number of publications, top journals, authors, and institutions. Current research on PM highlights the pathogenesis and application of novel technologies, including multimodal imaging and artificial intelligence.

      This paper uses bibliometrics to characterize the knowledge systems of big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and energy based on the Science Citation Index Extension (SCI-E) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) of the Web of Science from 2001 to 2020. Results show that China is the country with the highest number of publications (1115), accounting for 29% of the total; however, the most influential country in the field is the USA, with an h-index of 75. The Chinese Academy of Sciences publishes the largest number of papers (104) and plays a vital role in the collaboration network. The study also reveals that the IEEE Access is the most productive journal (195) in terms of the number of publications, and engineering is the most popular discipline (1526). The key theoretical foundation includes deep learning (293), big data (105), energy consumption (79), and reinforcement learning (40). The application of big data and AI in the field of energy focuses on smart grid, energy consumption, and renewable energy. Early research frontiers involve optimization and prediction of energy-related problems using the genetic algorithm and neural networks. Since 2013, energy big data have gained prominence. At present, machine learning, deep learning, and fog computing are frequently combined with energy saving. In the future, big data and AI will be utilized to promote the application of renewable energy and energy-saving renovation of buildings. These findings can help researchers understand the developmental trends and correctly grasp the research direction and method of the emerging interdisciplinary field.

       PURPOSE: To analyze the AI research in the field of nursing, to explore the current situation, hot topics, and prospects of AI research in the field of nursing, and to provide a reference for researchers to carry out related studies.
    METHODS: We used the VOSviewer 1.6.17, SciMAT, and CiteSpace 5.8.R3 to generate visual cooperation network maps for the country, organizations, authors, citations, and keywords and perform burst detection, theme evolution, and so forth.
    FINDINGS: A total of 9318 articles were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Four hundred and thirty-one AI research related to the field of nursing was published by 855 institutions from 54 countries. CIN-Computers Informatics Nursing was the top productive journal. The United States was the dominant country. The transnational cooperation between authors from developed countries was closer than that between authors from developing countries. The main hot topics included nurse rostering, nursing diagnosis, nursing decision support, disease risk factor prediction, nursing big data management, expert system, support vector machine, decision tree, deep learning, natural language processing, and nursing education. Machine learning represented one of the cutting-edge and most applicable branches of artificial intelligence in the field of nursing, and deep learning was the hottest technology among many machine learning methods in recent years. One of the most cited papers was published by Burke in 2004 and cited 500 times, which critically evaluated AI methods to deal with nurse scheduling problems.
    CONCLUSIONS: Although AI has been paid more and more attention to the field of nursing, there is still a lack of high-yielding authors who have been engaged in this field for a long time. Most of the high contribution authors and institutions came from developed countries; therefore, more transnational and multi-disciplinary cooperation is needed to promote the development of AI in the nursing field. This bibliometric analysis not only provided a comprehensive overview to help researchers to understand the important articles, journals, potential collaborators, and institutions in this field but also analyzed the history, hot spots, and future trends of the research topic to provide inspiration for researchers to choose research directions.

      Kratom has caught the attention of governments, policymakers, and academicians due to its unique characteristics. This paper explores the scholarly works related to the different aspects of Kratom to elucidate its research progress and identify future research agendas. We reviewed existing publications on Kratom using a bibliometric methodology. By analyzing 431 scientific publications, we identified publication sources, document analysis, countries analysis, and research keywords, which helped us understand the research locus on Kratom. After reviewing the publications, we discovered significant disagreements in categorizing and defining Kratom amongst authors based on their nationalities. We also showed the knowledge structure of existing publications via thematic analysis, illustrating that the studies focused on the opioid nature of Kratom. Also, drug abuse-related issues evolved as the motor theme of research, while other aspects are prevalent as niche or emerging research themes. This paper contributes to the literature by providing a broad idea of existing literature and offering a comprehensive outlook on Kratom, which could be helpful for policy formulation in the future.

       BACKGROUND: The first steps towards gender equity in science are measuring the magnitude of inequity and increasing awareness of the problem.
    OBJECTIVES: To describe trends in gender disparities in first and last authorship in the most cited dental publications and general dental literature over a 20-year period.
    METHODS: Articles and bibliometric data were retrieved from the Scopus database for the period 1996 to 2015. Two groups of 1000 articles each were retrieved: a random sample and another sample of top-cited articles for each year. The gender of the first and last author of each publication was manually identified. When this was not possible, we used an online software platform (https://genderize.io/). Descriptive analyses identified the proportion of women first and last authors in both samples, stratifying by dental discipline and geographic region. Trends were ascertained by frequency metrics across years. Gender disparity was observed in both first and last authorship, with a larger gap being observed in the top-cited sample.
    RESULTS: Women led 28.4% and 20.3% of articles in the random and top-cited samples, respectively. A similar pattern was observed for the last authorship group (22.1% and 16.1%, respectively). An increasing trend in the proportion of articles led by women over time was observed in both samples. This increase was larger in the top-cited sample (from 15.0% in 1996-2000 to 25.1% in 2015) than in the random sample (from 26.3% in 1996-2000 to 33.2% in 2011).
    CONCLUSIONS: Clear gender disparities in dental research publications in the last 20 years were identified in both general and top-cited manuscripts, across dental disciplines, across countries, across first and last authorship, and over time. It is paramount that actions are taken to attract, retain and promote women in science, as well as to monitor and ensure progress towards gender equity.

      Rubella virus (RuV) generally causes a mild infection, but it can sometimes lead to systemic abnormalities. This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of over two decades of RuV research. Medical studies published from 2000 to 2021 were analyzed to gain insights into and identify research trends and outputs in RuV. R and VOSviewer were used to conduct a bibliometric investigation to determine the globally indexed RuV research output. The Dimensions database was searched with RuV selected as the subject, and 2500 published documents from the preceding two decades were reviewed. The number of publications on RuV has increased since 2003, reaching its peak in 2020. There were 12,072 authors and 16,769 author appearances; 88 publications were single-authored and 11,984 were multi-authored. The United States was the most influential contributor to RuV research, in terms of publications and author numbers. The number of RuV-related articles has continued to increase over the past few years due to the significant rubella burden in low-income nations. This study will aid in formulating plans and policies to control and prevent RuV infections.

       BACKGROUND: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a common urological disorder leading to dysuria in middle-aged and elderly men and significantly reduces the quality of life of patients. Technology for BPH has made a great progress, while there is still a lack of visual and summary literature to make the summary.
    SUMMARY: The aims of the study were to identify the cooperation of authors, countries, institutions, and explore hot topics' prospects regarding research of BPH. Relevant original articles were obtained from the Web of Science (WoS) database between 2016 and 2022. CiteSpace software was used to perform the analysis and visualization of scientific productivity and emerging trends.
    KEY MESSAGES: A total of 4,738 articles related to study of BPH were identified. We observed a gradual increase in the number of publications from 2016 to 2022. The USA dominated the field in all countries. Shanghai Jiao Tong University was the most productive institution in 6 years. Active cooperation between countries and between institutions was not observed. Journal of Urology was the most co-cited journal. Roehrborn CG (41 papers) was the most productive author and had the largest numbers of citations (820 co-citations) during the past 6 years. Close collaboration was not observed between the different authors. The main hot topics included matters related to BPH, urinary tract symptom, prostatic urethral lift, thermal therapy, and prostatic neoplasms. This scientometric study comprehensively reviewed publications related to BPH during the past 6 years using quantitative and qualitative methods, which can be used to forecast future research developments in BPH.

      Cardioembolic stroke, a subtype of ischemic stroke with the worst prognosis, is quietly threatening public health. We aimed to visualize the development trend and hotspots of research on cardioembolic stroke. A total of 2886 papers about cardioembolic stroke published from 2012 to 2022 were retrieved in the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database. Further, we performed a bibliometric analysis of these publications, such as generating cooperation maps, co-citation analysis of journals and references, and cluster analysis of keywords. According to the results, cardioembolic stroke research faces many clinical challenges. We obtained the knowledge maps of countries/institutions, authors, journals with high publications and citations, and representative references in this field. Studies about optimal prevention strategies for cardioembolic stroke, identification of cardioembolism in cryptogenic stroke, and prophylactic anticoagulation for patients with embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) or at high risk of left ventricle (LV) thrombus are in the spotlight.

       INTRODUCTION: Stem cell therapies have become widely popular in orthopedic surgery, with a recent interest in adipose-derived therapeutics. Adipose-derived mesenchymal signaling cells (ADSCs) and micronized adipose tissue (MAT) are unique therapies derived from different processing methods. Characterizing the most influential studies in lipoaspirate research can help clarify controversies in definitions, identify core literature, and further collective knowledge for educational purposes.
    METHODS: The Science Citation Index Expanded subsection of the Web of Science Core Collection was systematically searched to identify the top 50 most cited publications on orthopedic ADSCs or MAT research. Publication and study characteristics were extracted and reported using descriptive statistics. Level of evidence was assessed for applicable studies, and Spearman correlations were calculated to assess the relationship between citation data and level of evidence.
    RESULTS: The top 50 articles were published between the years 2003 and 2020, with 78% published in the year 2010 or later. The mean number of citations was 103.181.1. The mean citation rate was 12.46.0 citations per year. Of the 21 studies for which level of evidence was assessed, the majority were Level III (10, 47.6%). The single study design most common among the top 50 cited articles was in vitro basic science studies (17 studies, 34%). Twenty-nine articles (58%) were classified as basic science or translational. Application to treat knee osteoarthritis was the most common focus of studies (14 studies, 28%), followed by in vitro analysis of growth factor and cell signaling markers (11 studies, 22%). No correlation was found between rank, citation rate, or year of publication and level of evidence.
    CONCLUSIONS: This study provides a current landscape on the most cited articles in lipoaspirates in orthopedic surgery. With the expansion of ADSCs and MAT in the past two decades, this study provides the first historical landmark of the literature and a launching point for future research. Studies should explicitly state their processing methodology and if their study investigates ADSCs or MAT to avoid misinformation.

      This study maps the conceptual structure of health technology assessment (HTA) research with the aim of contributing to a better understanding of this research stream. A bibliometric analysis of 1,198 HTA articles retrieved from the Web of Science database was conducted. The analysis of descriptive performance indicators identified the main traits of the scientific debate about the HTA in terms of publications, productive countries, and sources. A co-word analysis was performed by adopting social network analysis tools to map the conceptual structure of the dataset. The results highlight the growing academic interest in the research topic, especially in recent years. The results revealed that HTA is a widely known term and represents the reference paradigm for assessment in healthcare technologies. This paper contributes to the field by providing an examination of the current state of the art of HTA research and identifying possible future research directions. This study differs from existing studies because it involved a conceptual analysis of the scientific literature using macro keywords.

       BACKGROUND: Associations between the microbiome-gut-brain axis and dementia have attracted considerable attention in research literature. This study examined the microbiome-gut-brain axis and dementia-related research from a bibliometric perspective.
    METHODS: A search for original research and review articles on the microbiome-gut-brain axis and dementia was conducted in the Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) database. The R package "bibliometrix" was used to collect information on countries, institutions, authors, journals, and keywords. VOSviewer software was used to visualize the co-occurrence network of keywords.
    RESULTS: Overall, 494 articles met the study inclusion criteria, with an average of 29.64 citations per article. Corresponding authors of published articles were mainly from China, the United States and Italy. Zhejiang University in China and Kyung Hee University in Korea were the most active institutions, while the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease and Nutrients published the most articles in this field. Expected main search terms, "Parkinson disease" and "chain fatty-acids" were high-frequency keywords that indicate current and future research directions in this field.
    CONCLUSIONS: This bibliometric study helped researchers to identify the key topics and trends in the microbiome-gut-brain axis and dementia-related research. High-frequency keywords identified in this study reflect current trends and possible future directions in this field related to methodologies, mechanisms and populations of interest.

       Introduction: Assisted reproductive technology (ART) is a method that uses various techniques to process sperm or ova. Assisted reproductive technology involves removing ova from a woman's ovaries, combining them with sperm in the laboratory, and returning them to the woman's body or donating them to another woman.
    Methods: Based on the web of science core collection database, we firstly analyzed the quantity and quality of publications in the field of ART, secondly profiled the publishing groups in terms of country, institution, author's publication and cooperation network, and finally sorted out and summarized the hot topics of research.
    Results: In total, 6,288 articles on ART were published between 2001 and 2022 in 1,013 journals. Most of these published articles represent the global research status, potential hotspots and future research directions. Publications and citations of research on assisted reproductive technology have steadily increased over the past few decades. Academic institutions in Europe and the United States have been leading in assisted reproductive technology research. The countries, institutions, journals, and authors with the most published articles were the United States (1864), Harvard Univ (108), Fertility and Sterility (819), and Stern, Judy E. (64). The most commonly used keywords are Assisted reproductive technology (3303) and in-vitro Fertilization (2139), Ivf (1140), Pregnancy (1140), Women (769), Intracytoplasmic Sperm injection (644), In Fertilization (632), Risk (545), and Outcome (423).
    Conclusion: Frozen embryo transfer, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, and in vitro fertilization are the main research topics and hotspots in the field of assisted reproductive technology.

       Background: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to public health problems, including depression. There has been a significant increase in research on depression during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, little attention has been paid to the overall trend in this field based on bibliometric analyses.
    Methods: Co-Occurrence (COOC) and VOSviewer bibliometric methods were utilized to analyze depression in COVID-19 literature in the core collection of the Web of Science (WOS). The overall characteristics of depression during COVID-19 were summarized by analyzing the number of published studies, keywords, institutions, and countries.
    Results: A total of 9,694 English original research articles and reviews on depression during COVID-19 were included in this study. The United States, China, and the United Kingdom were the countries with the largest number of publications and had close cooperation with each other. Research institutions in each country were dominated by universities, with the University of Toronto being the most productive institution in the world. The most frequently published author was Ligang Zhang. Visualization analysis showed that influencing factors, adverse effects, and coping strategies were hotspots for research.
    Conclusion: The results shed light on the burgeoning research on depression during COVID-19, particularly the relationship between depression and public health. In addition, future research on depression during COVID-19 should focus more on special groups and those at potential risk of depression in the general population, use more quantitative and qualitative studies combined with more attention to scale updates, and conduct longitudinal follow-ups of the outcomes of interventions. In conclusion, this study contributes to a more comprehensive view of the development of depression during COVID-19 and suggests a theoretical basis for future research on public health.

       Background and purpose: Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women and radiation therapy (RT) is crucial in its multimodality management. Since bibliometrics is a powerful tool to reveal the scientific literature, we decided to perform a bibliometric analysis of the literature on breast cancer radiotherapy. We explored emerging trends and common patterns in research, tracking collaboration and networks, and foreseeing future directions in this clinical setting.
    Material and methods: The electronic Scopus database was searched using the keywords "breast cancer" and "radiotherapy" to include manuscripts published in English, between 2000 and 2021. Data analysis was performed using R-Studio 0.98.1091 software with a machine-learning bibliometric method, based on the bibliometrix R package. The most relevant authors were quantified per number and fractionalized number of authored documents. Author productivity was analysed through Lotka's law. Bradford's law was applied to identify the nucleus of journals focused on the addressed topic. Mainstream themes area included isolated topics (niche themes), new topics (emerging themes), hot topics (motor themes) and essential topics (basic themes).
    Results: A total of 27 184 documents was found, mainly original articles (76 %). The annual growth rate was 6.98 %, with an increase in scientific production from 485 to 2000 documents between 2000 and 2021. Overall, 2 544 journals published ≥ 1 documents. The most relevant authors were affiliated in the United States. Surgical procedures, cancer type and treatment strategies represented basic themes, while primary systemic therapy and sentinel lymph node biopsy were emerging themes. Health-related quality of life was a niche theme, while RT techniques had high centrality.
    Conclusion: The primary interests of breast cancer radiation oncologists have evolved over time, adding safety, health related quality of life, sustainability of treatments and combination to systemic therapies to radiotherapy efficacy and effectiveness and treatment outcomes.

       BACKGROUND: Open-access (OA) publishing is increasingly prevalent in dermatology, and many journals now offer hybrid options, including conventional (subscription-based access [SA]) publishing or OA (with an author publishing charge) in a subscription journal. OA publishing has been noted in many disciplines, but this has been rarely studied in dermatology.
    METHODS: Using the Clarivate Journal Citation Report, we compiled a list of English-language dermatology hybrid OA journals containing more than 5% OA articles. We sampled any OA review or original research article in 4 issues from 2018 to 2019 and matched an equal number of SA articles. Citation count, citation count excluding self-citations and view counts found using Scopus and Altmetrics score were recorded for each article. Statistical analyses were performed using logistic and negative binomial models using R software.
    RESULTS: Twenty-seven hybrid dermatology journals were found, and 538 articles were sampled (269 OA, 269 SA). For both original research and review articles, OA articles had significantly higher mean citation counts (mean 13.2, standard deviation [SD] 17.0) compared to SA articles (mean 7.9, SD 8.8) (odds ratio [OR] 1.04; 95% CI 1.02-1.05; P < .001) including when adjusted for time from publication. Original research OA articles had significantly higher citation counts than original research SA articles (excluding self-citations; OR, 1.03; 95% CI, 1.01-1.05; P = .003), and review articles also had OA citation advantage than review SA articles (OR, 1.06; 95% CI, 1.02-1.11; P = .008). There was, however, no significant difference in citation counts between review articles and original research articles (OR, 1.00; 95% CI, 0.19-5.31; P = 1.000). There was no significant difference seen in view counts (OA: mean±SD 17.7±10.8; SA: mean±SD 17.1±12.4) and Altmetric score (OA: mean±SD 13.2±47.8; SA: mean±SD 6.3±25.0) between OA and SA articles. Potential confounders included the fact that more OA articles were published in Europe than in Asia, and pharmaceutical-funded articles were more likely to be published OA.
    CONCLUSIONS: We noted a higher citation count for OA articles than SA articles in dermatology hybrid journals. However, dermatology researchers should take into account confounding factors when deciding whether to increase the impact of their work by selecting OA over SA publishing.

      Psychomotricity is a wide broad term, which encompasses different bodily action approaches to support children and adolescents to achieve their highest potential. A search on the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database was performed on this topic, using traditional bibliometric laws. Finally, 118 publications (112 articles and 6 reviews) documents were found. Annual publications presented an exponentially growing trend (R2 = 84.7%). Spain was the most productive country/region worldwide. Paola Magioncalda, Matteo Martino y Víctor Arufe Giraldez were highlighted as the most prolific co-authors. "Retos Nuevas Tendencias en Educación Física, Deporte y Recreación" was the most productive journal and the "International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health", was the second most productive; the third in the list was the most productive in the JCR ranking. Thus, research on psychomotricity is experiencing exponential growth, causing this topic to generate great interest among researchers, publishers and journals. The most cited paper was "Neurocognitive Effects of Alcohol Hangover". The author keywords that were first raised together with psychomotricity were related to rehabilitation and psychomotor development, while the current trend was focused on physical activity and early childhood education.

      The use of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) as adsorbent for water treatment has been gaining relevance in recent years. In this context, this work aimed to map, through a bibliometric study, the extent of research that deals with the theme. The scientific database used was the Web of Science, and the chronology of the search consideredthe period from 1997 to 2022. The bibliometix R-package and VOSviewer software were used in this study. The searches retrieved a total of 663 documents, from 69 countries, distributed among all continents, which China (328), India (51) and Japan (40) were the most productive countries. Important journals in the environmental area and with high impact factor, such as Chemical Engineering Journal (44), Applied Clay Science (38), Journal of Hazardous Materials (35) and Chemosphere (27) most published in the area. The network of keywords used by the authors indicates that the publications retrieved deal mainly with aspects related to the efficiency of (LDHs) in the removal of different pollutants, the composition, the synthesis route and the association with other materials and/or techniques. The result of this study constitutes an important tool for directing future research on the subject.

       Background: Cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) 4/6 inhibitors are a type of cell cycle regulation that prevents cell proliferation by blocking retinoblastoma protein (Rb) phosphorylation in the G1 to S phase transition. CDK 4/6 inhibitors are currently used mainly in patients with hormone receptor-positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) negative breast cancer in combination with endocrine therapy. However, primary or acquired resistance to drugs severely affect drug efficacy. Our study aims at summarizing and visualizing the current research direction and development trend of CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance to provide clinicians and research power with a summary of the past and ideas for the future.
    Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection and PubMed was searched for all included articles on CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance for bibliometric statistics and graph plotting. The metrological software and graphing tools used were R language version 4.2.0, Bibliometrix 4.0.0, Vosviewer 1.6.18, GraphPad Prism 9, and Microsoft Excel 2019.
    Results: A total of 1278 English-language articles related to CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance were included in the Web of Science core dataset from 1996-2022, with an annual growth rate of14.56%. In PubMed, a total of 1123 articles were counted in the statistics, with an annual growth rate of 17.41% Cancer Research is the most included journal (102/1278, 7.98%) with an impact factor of 13.312 and is the Q1 of the Oncology category of the Journal Citation Reports. Professor Malorni Luca from Italy is probably the most contributing author in the current field (Publications 21/1278, 1.64%), while Prof. Turner Nicholas C from the USA is perhaps the most authoritative new author in the field of CDK4/6 inhibitor resistance (Total Citations2584, M-index 1.429). The main research efforts in this field are currently focused on Palbociclib and Abemaciclib. Studies on drug resistance mechanisms or post-drug resistance therapies focus on MEK inhibitors and related pathways, PI3K-AKT-MTOR pathways or inhibitors, EGFR-related pathways, EGFR inhibitors, TKI inhibitors, MAPK pathways and inhibitors, and so on.
    Conclusion: This study provides researchers with a reliable basis and guidance for finding authoritative references, understanding research trends, and mining research neglect directions.

      Video communication has been rapidly increasing over the past decade, with YouTube providing a medium where users can post, discover, share, and react to videos. There has also been an increase in the number of videos citing research articles, especially since it has become relatively commonplace for academic conferences to require video submissions. However, the relationship between research articles and YouTube videos is not clear, and the purpose of the present paper is to address this issue. We created new datasets using YouTube videos and mentions of research articles on various online platforms. We found that most of the articles cited in the videos are related to medicine and biochemistry. We analyzed these datasets through statistical techniques and visualization, and built machine learning models to predict (1) whether a research article is cited in videos, (2) whether a research article cited in a video achieves a level of popularity, and (3) whether a video citing a research article becomes popular. The best models achieved F1 scores between 80% and 94%. According to our results, research articles mentioned in more tweets and news coverage have a higher chance of receiving video citations. We also found that video views are important for predicting citations and increasing research articles' popularity and public engagement with science.

       OBJECTIVE: To evaluate female author representation in urologic literature as compared to the proportion of female practicing urologists.
    METHODS: A cross-sectional study was designed to analyze trends in women authorship of urology publications in 2019 as compared to AUA 2019 census data. The five highest impact urologic journals in 2019 were identified using the publicly available SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) indices. Author genders and study categorization were independently determined by two authors. Chi-squared test was used for statistical analyses.
    RESULTS: The five highest impact urologic journals in 2019 as per SJR were European Urology, Journal of Urology, British Journal of Urology International, Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases, and Nature Reviews Urology. A total of 501 publications were included for analysis. Women comprised 22.1% of first authors and 14.6% of senior authors. The proportion of publications authored by women was significantly higher than would be expected based on population proportions from the AUA 2019 census data for women as both first (P<0.0001) and senior author (P=0.0005). Similarly, women authorship was significantly higher than expected for basic science (P<0.0001), clinical medicine (P<0.0001), economics/practice management (P=0.0002), editorial (P=0.0027), and review/meta-analysis (P<0.0001) publications.
    CONCLUSIONS: The present study demonstrates that women contribute to the urologic literature significantly more than would be expected based on the proportion of practicing female urologists. However, with the persistence of gender gap in academic medicine promotions, further research into contributing factors and strategies for improvement are needed to promote greater women representation in academia.

       Objective: To identify the research hotspots on cognitive function in developmental coordination disorder (DCD) in recent years, predict the research frontier and development trend, and provide more perspectives for the study of the DCD population.
    Methods: Using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software to draw charts, 1,082 pieces of literature about DCD and cognitive function in the Web of Science core collection database from 2010 to 2022 were visually analyzed.
    Results and conclusion: Interest in the cognitive function of DCD has been on the rise in the past 10 years. Over 40 countries and regions, 117 institutions and 200 researchers have participated in the corresponding research, mainly in the United States, and their institutions have published more highly influential results. The hot keywords are DCD, children, attention, working memory, performance, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and the main research hot topics include functional performance, population, cognitive psychology. The research directions include "DCD," "Asperger syndrome," "memory," "infant," "clumsiness," "neurodevelopmental disorder," "occupational therapy," "preschool children," "motor competence," "model," and "online control." Future research should focus on motor imagery and intrinsic models and use more neurophysiological techniques to reveal the cognitive characteristics of children with DCD and develop intervention programs.

       BACKGROUND: Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) is an acquired defect of the cellular immunity associated with the infection by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The disease has reached pandemic proportion and has been considered a public health concern. This study is aimed at analyzing the trend of HIV/AIDS research in Nigeria.
    METHOD: We used the PUBMED database to a conduct bibliometric analysis of HIV/AIDS-related research in Nigeria from 1986 to 2021 employing "HIV", "AIDS", "acquired immunodeficiency syndrome", "Human immunodeficiency virus", and "Nigeria" as search description. The most common bibliometric indicators were applied for the selected publications.
    RESULT: The number of scientific research articles retrieved for HIV/AIDS-related research in Nigeria was 2796. Original research was the predominant article type. Articles authored by 4 authors consisted majority of the papers. The University of Ibadan was found to be the most productive institution. Institutions in the United States dominated external production with the University of Maryland at the top. The most utilized journal was PLoS ONE. While Iliyasu Z. was the most productive principal author, Crowel TA. was the overall most productive author with the highest collaborative strength. The keyword analysis using overlay visualization showed a gradual shift from disease characteristics to diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Trend in HIV/AIDS research in Nigeria is increasing yet evolving. Four articles were retracted while two had an expression of concern.
    CONCLUSION: The growth of scientific literature in HIV/AIDS-related research in Nigeria was found to be high and increasing. However, the hotspot analysis still shows more unexplored grey areas in future.

       OBJECTIVES: This paper aimed to provide a systematic review of relevant articles from the perspectives of literature distribution, research hotspots, and existing results to obtain the frontier directions in the field of disinformation.
    METHODS: We analyzed disinformation publications published between 2002 and 2021 using bibliometric methods based on the Web of Science. There were 5666 papers analyzed using Derwent Data Analyzer (DDA).
    RESULTS: The result shows that the USA was the most influential country in this area, while Ecker and Lewandowsky from the University of Western Australia published the largest volumes of papers. Keywords such as "social media", "COVID-19", and "vaccination" have gained immense popularity recently.
    CONCLUSIONS: We summarized four themes that are of the biggest concern to scholars: group heterogeneity of misinformation in memory, disinformation mechanism in social media, public health related to COVID-19, and application of big data technology in the infodemic. The future agenda of disinformation is summarized from three aspects: the mechanism of disinformation, social media users, and the application of algorithms. This work can be a meaningful resource for researchers' study in the area of disinformation.

       Introduction: As one of the major pollutants in ambient air pollution, fine particulate matter (PM2.5) has attracted public attention. A large body of laboratory and epidemiological research has shown that PM2.5 exposure is harmful to human health.
    Methods: To investigate its association with the commonly observed PM-related cancer, a bibliometric study was performed on related publications from 2012 to 2021 from a macroscopic perspective with the help of the Web of Science database and scientometric software VOSviewer, CiteSpace V, HistCite, and Biblioshiny.
    Results: The results indicated that of the 1,948 enrolled documents, scientific productions increased steadily and peaked in 2020 with 348 publications. The most prolific authors, journals, organizations, and countries were Raaschou-Nielsen O, Science of the Total Environment, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and China, respectively. The top five keywords in frequency order were "air pollution," "particulate matter," "lung cancer," "exposure," and "mortality."
    Discussion: The toxic mechanism of carcinogenicity was explained and is worthy of further investigation. China and the US collaborated most closely, and it is hoped the two countries can strengthen their collaboration to combat air pollution. There is also a need to identify the components of PM2.5 and refine the models to assess the global burden of disease attributed to PM2.5 exposure.

      Background and Objectives: Cardiovascular disease is a long-term threat to global public health security, while sedentary behavior is a modifiable behavior among cardiovascular risk factors. This study aimed to analyze the peer-reviewed literature published globally on sedentary behavior and cardiovascular disease (SB-CVD) and identify the hotspots and frontiers within this research area. Materials and Methods: Publications on SB-CVD from 1990 to 2022 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were applied to perform bibliometric and knowledge mapping visualization analyses. Results: A total of 2071 publications were retrieved, presenting a gradual growing trend. Authors from the USA topped the list with 748 (36.12%), followed by authors from England (373, 18.01%) and Australia (354, 17.09%). The University of Queensland, Australia, led with 95 (4.5%) publications. The top five active authors were all from Australia, while Dunstan D and Owen N published the most documents (56, 2.7%). A total of 71.27% of the publications received funding, and the United States Department of Health and Human Services provided 363 (17.53%) grants. Public Environmental Occupational Health (498, 24.05%), Sport Sciences (237, 11.44%), and Cardiac Cardiovascular Systems (212, 10.24%) were the three most popular disciplines, while PLOS One (96, 4.64%) and BMC Public Health (88, 4.25%) were the two most popular journals. Investigations within the SB-CVD research area addressed the entire lifespan, the most popular type of research was the epidemiological study, and the accelerometer was the primary instrument for measuring sedentary behavior. In terms of variables, physical activity and sedentary behavior were the dominant lifestyle behaviors, while obesity and hypertension were common health problems. Occupational physical activity and guidelines are at the frontier and are currently in the burst stage. Conclusions: The last three decades have witnessed the rapid development of the SB-CVD research area, and this study provided further research ideas for subsequent investigations.

      Carbon footprint (CF) research has attained tremendous popularity for improving the climate environment purposes. In particular, current energy use has been identified as the main cause of climate change. CF plays an irreplaceable role in managing energy use, reducing gas emissions, and improving climate change. The objective of this study was to review studies that have developed CF and to perform a bibliometric analysis using two key terms: "climate change" and "energy use". From bibliometric analysis using CiteSpace and VOSviewer, it was possible to establish a knowledge map of cooperative network structure and research evolution. We are aiming to reveal the main logical chain of CF research leading to climate change, to make up for the lack of current literature, and provide research inspiration for researchers. The research findings mainly focus on four aspects. First, the relevant research began in 2008 and is in a state of continuous rise. Second, due to the law of research development and the prominence of practical problems, related research has experienced a stage from conceptual methods to specific problems. Third, China and the USA assume an important role in which international cooperation is the overall trend. Fourth, related research can be divided into CF algorithm research, ecological environment management research, and specific cross-industry fields. In addition, possible opportunities for change in related research are explored. It is also suggested that the integration of CF with other footprints, when energy use and environmental change are fully considered, may become an important future research trend by providing a more comprehensive environmental impact.

This analysis was carried out by analyzing the scientific literature indexed in the Scopus database that addressed the multiple stages of the e-learning adoption process (i.e., acceptance, adoption, and use). Our study analyzed 896 documents published between 1989 and 2021, of which 98.3% represented papers published in journals and conference proceedings.

       Objective: This study aims to construct and use natural language processing and other methods to analyze major depressive disorder (MDD) and radiology studies' publications in the PubMed database to understand the historical growth, current state, and potential expansion trend.
    Methods: All MDD radiology studies publications from January 2002 to January 2022 were downloaded from PubMed using R, a statistical computing language. R and the interpretive general-purpose programming language Python were used to extract publication dates, geographic information, and abstracts from each publication's metadata for bibliometric analysis. The generative statistical algorithm "Latent Dirichlet allocation" (LDA) was applied to identify specific research focus and trends. The unsupervised Leuven algorithm was used to build a network to identify relationships between research focus.
    Results: A total of 5,566 publications on MDD and radiology research were identified, and there is a rapid upward trend. The top-cited publications were 11,042, and the highly-cited publications focused on improving diagnostic performance and establishing imaging standards. Publications came from 76 countries, with the most from research institutions in the United States and China. Hospitals and radiology departments take the lead in research and have an advantage. The extensive field of study contains 12,058 Medical Subject Heading (MeSH) terms. Based on the LDA algorithm, three areas were identified that have become the focus of research in recent years, "Symptoms and treatment," "Brain structure and imaging," and "Comorbidities research."
    Conclusion: Latent Dirichlet allocation analysis methods can be well used to analyze many texts and discover recent research trends and focus. In the past 20 years, the research on MDD and radiology has focused on exploring MDD mechanisms, establishing standards, and constructing imaging methods. Recent research focuses are "Symptoms and sleep," "Brain structure study," and "functional connectivity." New progress may be made in studies on MDD complications and the combination of brain structure and metabolism.

       BACKGROUND: Functional neurological disorders (FND), a subtype of functional disorders (FD), are a frequent motive for neurology referrals. The various presentations and the unknown physiopathology of FD have led to the multiplication of terms describing these disorders over the years.
    METHODS: We examined the FD-related articles published from 1960 to 2020 in PubMed and PsycINFO databases. We searched for: psychogenic, somatization, somatoform, medically unexplained symptoms, hysteria, conversion disorder, dissociative, functional neurological disorder, and functional disorder. Use rates in the title, abstract, keyword, or MeSH fields were collected over successive 5-year periods. After correcting for off-topic results, we examined proportional distribution over time, term associations, and disciplinary fields (neurology and psychiatry). Term impact was estimated via H-index and number of citations.
    RESULTS: We found that none of the terms is prevailing in the recent medical literature. We observed three trends in the use rates: stability, increase, and decrease of use over time. While most of the terms were present in a stable proportion of the publications, hysteria and psychogenic lost popularity over time. We found a differential preference for terminology between disciplines. Functional neurological disorder showed the highest citation impact, yielding 10% of highly cited publications.
    CONCLUSION: We found a dynamic and evolving use of the different terms describing FD in the last 60 years. Despite the tendency to use the term functional in the recent highly cited publications, its low prevalence and coexistence with several other terms suggest that a precise, explanatory and non-offensive term remains yet to be found.

       INTRODUCTION: Bibliometrics assessing academic productivity play a significant role in neurosurgeon career advancement. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of multiple author profiles on SCOPUS® on neurosurgeon author-level metrics (h-index, document number, citation number).
    METHODS: A list of 1671 academic neurosurgeons was compiled through public searches of hospital and faculty websites for the 115 neurosurgical residency training programs. H-index, document number, and citation number for each neurosurgeon were collected using the SCOPUS® algorithm. For surgeons with multiple profiles, total document number and citation number were calculated by summing the results of each profile. Cumulative h-indices were calculated manually. Comparisons were made between surgeons with a single SCOPUS® profile and those with multiple profiles.
    RESULTS: 124 neurosurgeons with multiple profiles were identified. Gender distribution (p=0.47), years in practice (p=0.06), subspecialty (p=0.32), and academic rank (p=0.16) between neurosurgeons with single profiles vs. multiple profiles were similar. The primary profile h-index median was 16 (8-34), combined profiles median was 20 (11-36), and percent loss median was 17.3% (3%-33%) (p<0.001). For document number, the primary profile median was 46 (16-127), combined profiles median was 55 (22-148), and percent loss median was 16.2% (7%-36%) (p<0.001). For citation number, the primary profile median was 1030 (333-4082), combined profiles median was 1319 (546-4439), and percent loss median was 14.1% (4%-32%) (p<0.001).
    CONCLUSION: Academic neurosurgeons in the United States with multiple existing profiles on SCOPUS® experience a 17.3%-loss in h-index, a 16.2%-loss in document number, and a 14.1%-loss in citations, heavily undercounting their perceived academic productivity.

       BACKGROUND: The h-index is a measure of research achievement using not only the number of publications of an individual, but also the impact of the publications.
    OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to evaluate the h-indices of Mohs surgeons within a variety of practice settings.
    MATERIALS AND METHODS: A list of all American College of Mohs Society (ACMS) members with corresponding fellowships years were collected using the ACMS membership directory. Publicly available demographic information was obtained including fellowship year, practice setting, PhD status, practice location (region), total number of publications, and h-index. Descriptive statistics were calculated to compare h-indices among the demographic data.
    RESULTS: A total of 1150 ACMS members were included. The Practice setting distribution was as follows: 10.6% academic, 85.7% private practice, and 3.7% combined. H-index differed significantly based on practice setting (p < .001), with higher h-indices in academic and combined settings compared with the private practice setting. Subanalysis among academic Mohs surgeons revealed higher mean h-indices among professors (23.9) > associate professors (10.6) > assistant professors (8.6) > clinical instructors (5) (p < .001).
    CONCLUSION: H-indices were highest among Mohs surgeons in the academic setting with increasing values correlating with higher academic rank and time since fellowship completion.

      Despite increased female representation in medical training, women physicians continue to be under-represented in academic cardiology, particularly in senior roles of authorship and leadership. We analyzed the top 20 most-cited cardiology journals (31,540 total articles) between January 1st, 2018 and October 31st, 2021 for gender distribution of editorial staff and authorship. Our data demonstrated that only 27% of articles had women as first authors and 20% as senior authors. Women constituted 23% of editorial staff. There is a statistically significant negative correlation (R=0.67, p=0.0011) between the percentage of women as first authors and the percentage of men on editorial boards. Overall, female authorship increased from 26% first and 19% senior authors in 2018, to 29% first and 22% senior authors in 2021. Women authors are significantly under-represented in academic cardiology publications, and additional work is needed to identify and address barriers to publishing and academic advancement for women in cardiology.

      Women comprise the majority of graduates from psychology doctoral programs, but equity is yet to be achieved in the professoriate. Publication drives career advancement, underscoring the need to investigate publication-based metrics of eminence. To our knowledge, authorship of invited submissions-a proxy of research esteem-has not been the focus of any psychology studies. In this cross-sectional study, authorship of invited submission(s) in five elite psychology journals (2015-2019) was investigated: Psychological Science in the Public Interest, Annual Review of Psychology, Trends in Cognitive Sciences, Annual Review of Clinical Psychology, and Annual Review of Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior. We hypothesized that women would be underrepresented. Author gender was classified using publicly available details (e.g., pronouns on professional websites). Primary outcomes were the proportion of women solo-, first-, or likely invited authors, relative to the proportion of women full and associate professors in psychology at R1 institutions (42.3%). Of 1,828 authorship positions (713 articles), 35.6% were occupied by women. Relative to the nominated base rate, women were disproportionately underrepresented. When the likely invited author on a multi-author publication was a woman, the first author was a woman on 51.0% of papers; when the likely invited author was a man, the first author was a woman on 34.1% of papers. These findings align with prior studies and extend the research by demonstrating that the gender publication gap in psychology is exacerbated in invited submissions and driven by particular subfields.       An overwhelming number of meta-analyses and reviews are published by scientific journals. In part this may reflect some preference of editors and publishers for these types of papers, which are more frequently cited and can increase the impact factor of their journals. Meta-analyses and reviews are also attractive for investigators looking for a greater chance of having successful publications with several citations, and therefore an improved personal h-index. This greater 'promise of success' might have a deleterious effect on the intellectual maturation of investigators, particularly early career investigators, who might neglect original research and concentrate their efforts on meta-analyses and reviews. However, while meta-analyses and reviews are useful for emphasising data and disseminating concepts, progress in science requires original ideas, original experiments and original papers. 'Analysts' and 'novelists' are welcome, but 'scientists' are indispensable.

       BACKGROUND: There is increasing interest in the role of EEG in neurorehabilitation. We primarily aimed to identify the knowledge base through highly influential studies. Our secondary aims were to imprint the relevant thematic hotspots, research trends, and social networks within the scientific community.
    METHODS: We performed an electronic search in Scopus, looking for studies reporting on rehabilitation in patients with neurological disabilities. We used the most influential papers to outline the knowledge base and carried out a word co-occurrence analysis to identify the research hotspots. We also used depicted collaboration networks between universities, authors, and countries after analyzing the cocitations. The results were presented in summary tables, plots, and maps. Finally, a content review based on the top-20 most cited articles completed our study.
    RESULTS: Our current bibliometric study was based on 874 records from 420 sources. There was vivid research interest in EEG use for neurorehabilitation, with an annual growth rate as high as 14.3%. The most influential paper was the study titled "Brain-computer interfaces, a review" by L.F. Nicolas-Alfonso and J. Gomez-Gill, with 997 citations, followed by "Brain-computer interfaces in neurological rehabilitation" by J. Daly and J.R. Wolpaw (708 citations). The US, Italy, and Germany were among the most productive countries. The research hotspots shifted with time from the use of functional magnetic imaging to EEG-based brain-machine interface, motor imagery, and deep learning.
    CONCLUSIONS: EEG constitutes the most significant input in brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and can be successfully used in the neurorehabilitation of patients with stroke symptoms, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and traumatic brain and spinal injuries. EEG-based BCI facilitates the training, communication, and control of wheelchair and exoskeletons. However, research is limited to specific scientific groups from developed countries. Evidence is expected to change with the broader availability of BCI and improvement in EEG-filtering algorithms.

      The new paradigms that are emerging because of technological and social advances derived from the massive use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) are generating a transformative process that is modifying all economic sectors, and education is no exception. Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) are carrying out such transformation, reacting to the need of adaptation to this new reality, experiencing a complete cultural change that is challenging the attitudes, actions and values shared by the members and stakeholders of these organizations. In order to analyze the scientific literature about this topic, a bibliometric analysis has been carried out covering the period 1900-2021, considering a sample of 469 articles included in the Web of Science (WoS) database. The results show the multidisciplinary nature of the topic, including articles published in different areas, as well as its close link with aspects such as innovation, governance and agile methodologies. Finally, this study highlights the main lines of research that could attract more attention in the immediate future.

      Wounds can cause many disorders and affect the quality of health, so it is necessary to develop wound dressings that have a role in accelerating the healing process. Wound dressings have evolved over time, and today there are many types of wound dressings that can suit the type of wound the patient has. This review discusses the development, types, and research directions of wound dressings from calcium alginate (CaAlg), using bibliometric analysis with time intervals from 1982 to 2021. It was found that, in the late 1990s, research related to this matter began to increase. United Kingdom, United States, China, Japan, and Italy are the five most influential countries. And from the results of the keyword analysis, it was found that, in addition to studying the general properties of wound dressings, currently there are many developments related to the structure of the material as well as the effect of adding drugs to wound dressings, so that the current study also displays various characterizations.

       BACKGROUND: Despite the importance of women in clinical research, no assessment has been made of the fraction of women in a leadership positions in the Cardiology journals of the SBC.
    OBJECTIVES: To assess the fraction of female authors in the International Journal of Cardiovascular Sciences (IJCS) and the Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia (ABC Cardiol) over the last decades.
    METHODS: We searched the original articles of the ABC Cardiol, from 2000 to 2019, and of the IJCS, from 2010 to 2019. We surveyed the number of first and senior female authors and the total number of original articles from 2010 to 2019. We calculated the total proportion of female authorship and compared the first quinquennium with the second. Only data from the ABC Cardiol were analyzed to assess the temporal evolution of the two decades. We used the chi-square test to assess the differences within each journal and between them. The IBM® SPSS® software was used in the analyses. The level of significance adopted was 5%.
    RESULTS: From 2010 to 2019, 1,157 original articles were published in the ABC Cardiol and 398 in the IJCS. We observed that women are more prevalent as first authors in the IJCS compared to the ABC Cardiol, but men prevail as senior authors in both journals. From 2010 to 2019, there was no significant change in the proportion of female authorship. Throughout the decades analyzed for the ABC Cardiol, there was a projection of linear growth of female authorship, with the slope of the line being greater in the first authorship than in senior authorship.
    CONCLUSIONS: There is gender disparity, with lower female representativeness in authorship in the articles from the Brazilian Cardiology journals analyzed: Arquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia and International Journal of Cardiovascular Sciences. We believe that based on these results, more efforts should be implemented in the search for gender equity in the cardiology scientific production published by these journals.

      Stroke is a significant disability and death cause worldwide and is conventionally defined as a neurological impairment relating to the intense focal harm of the central nervous system (CNS) by vascular causative components. Although the applicability of robotic rehabilitation is a topic with considerable practical significance because it has produced noticeably higher improvements in motor function than regular (physical and occupational) therapy and exempted the therapists, most of the existing bibliometric papers were not focused on stroke survivors. Additionally, a modular system is designed by joining several medical end-effector devices to a single limb segment, which addresses the issue of potentially dangerous pathological compensatory motions. Searching the Web of Science database, 31,930 papers were identified, and using the VOSviewer software and science mapping technology, data were extracted on the most prolific countries, the connections between them, the most valuable journals according to certain factors, their average year of publication, the most influential papers, and the most relevant topical issues (bubble map of term occurrence). The most prolific country in the analyzed field and over the entire period evaluated (1975-2022) is the United States, and the most prolific journal is Neurorehabilitation and Neural Repair, observing a marked increase in the three periods of scientific interest for this field. The present paper assesses numerous scientific publications to provide, through statistical interpretation of the data, a detailed description of the use of robotic rehabilitation in stroke survivors. The findings may aid scientists, academics, and clinicians in establishing precise goals in the optimization of the management of stroke survivors via robotic rehabilitation, but also through easier access to scientifically validated literature.

      Whole grains have been recommended in the diet in most countries, with numerous publications focusing on their health effect. A systematic analysis of these publications on different research methods, regions and perspectives will contribute to an understanding of the innovation pattern in this field. This bibliometric study analyzes the global publication characteristics, hotspots and frontiers of whole grain health benefit research, and discusses the trends and prospects of this topic. The overall number of publications is on the rise, with the United States contributing the most publications. The most cited literature shows that observational studies, systematic reviews and meta-analysis are the most widely used methods. The main focus in this area is on dietary fiber and bioactive substances, while the latter has received increased attention in recent years in particular. With the increasingly prominent problems of hidden hunger and chronic disease, the development of whole grain foods and their optimum intake have gradually become hot topics. In addition to the need to reveal the mechanism of whole grain health effects, consensus needs to be reached on standards and definitions for whole grain foods, and attention should be paid to the retention of taste and healthy nutrients in processing.

      RNA editing is a post-transcriptional process that introduces changes in RNA sequences encoded by nuclear, mitochondrial, or plastid genomes. To understand the research progress of plant RNA editing, we comprehensively analyze the articles on plant RNA editing from 2001 to 2022 through bibliometric methods. Nucleic Acids Research, Plant Journal and Plant cell are the journals that deserve attention with their high production, total local citation scores (TLCS), and h-indexes. The USA, China, and Germany are the top three countries with highly productive publications. Ulm University, Cornell University, and Chinese Acad Sci are excellent cooperative institutions with a high level of influence in the field, and KNOOP V and TAKENAKA M are good partnership. Plant RNA editing researches concentrate on the subject categories of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Plant Sciences, Genetics & Heredity, etc. Plant mitochondria, genome editing and messenger-RNA may be the research hotspots in the future. The main plant RNA editing research tools are JACUSA, SPRINT, and REDO, and the main databases are REDIdb, PED, and dbRES. At present, the research streams are (1) RNA editing sites; (2) Pentapeptide repeat protein (PPR) involved in RNA editing; (3) RNA editing factors. Overall, this article summarizes the research overview of plant RNA editing until 2022 and provides theoretical implications for its possible future directions.

      Drug discovery is usually a rule-based process that is carefully carried out by pharmacists. However, a new trend is emerging in research and practice where artificial intelligence is being used for drug discovery to increase efficiency or to develop new drugs for previously untreatable diseases. Nevertheless, so far, no study takes a holistic view of AI-based drug discovery research. Given the importance and potential of AI for drug discovery, this lack of research is surprising. This study aimed to close this research gap by conducting a bibliometric analysis to identify all relevant studies and to analyze interrelationships among algorithms, institutions, countries, and funding sponsors. For this purpose, a sample of 3884 articles was examined bibliometrically, including studies from 1991 to 2022. We utilized various qualitative and quantitative methods, such as performance analysis, science mapping, and thematic analysis. Based on these findings, we furthermore developed a research agenda that aims to serve as a foundation for future researchers.

      This study systematically reviews and characterizes the existing literature on transferrin/transferrin receptor-mediated drug delivery. Transferrin is an iron-binding protein. It can be used as a ligand to deliver various proteins, genes, ions, and drugs to the target site via transferrin receptors for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes via transferrin receptors. This study is based on a cross-sectional bibliometric analysis of 583 papers limited to the subject areas of pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutics as extracted from the Scopus database in mid-September 2022. The data were analyzed, and we carried out a performance analysis and science mapping. There was a significant increase in research from 2018 onward. The countries that contributed the most were the USA and China, and most of the existing research was found to be from single-country publications. Research studies on transferrin/transferrin receptor-mediated drug delivery focus on drug delivery across the blood-brain barrier in the form of nanoparticles. The thematic analysis revealed four themes: transferrin/transferrin receptor-mediated drug delivery to the brain, cancer cells, gene therapy, nanoparticles, and liposomes as drug delivery systems. This study is relevant to academics, practitioners, and decision makers interested in targeted and site-specific drug delivery.

      Plant effector biology is a research area that describes how plant-associated organisms modulate host structures and function to promote colonization by using small molecules (effectors). In this article, we analyzed 249 highly cited publications focused on plant pathogen effectors (i.e., Highly Influential studies on plant Pathogen Effectors; thereafter HIPEs) published between 2000 and 2020. This analysis identifies countries, organizations, and journals that contributed HIPEs, and reveals the evolution of research trends, model molecules, and model organisms over the last two decades. We notably show an increasing proportion of studies focused on effectors of biotrophic and hemibiotrophic fungi upon time. Our snapshot of the highly influential plant effector biology papers may help new comers in the field to gain an analytical understanding of this research area.

       BACKGROUND: Evidence-based medicine uses the current best evidence for decisions about patient care. Lymphedema is a chronic debilitating medical condition caused by a dysfunctional lymphatic system. This study analyzes the most cited articles, including the levels of evidence, for the surgical treatment of lymphedema.
    METHODS: The Web of Science Sci-Expanded Index was utilized to search for surgical treatment of lymphedema. Articles were examined by three independent reviewers and the top 100 articles were determined. The corresponding author, citation count, publication year, topic, study design, level of evidence, journal, country, and institution were analyzed.
    RESULTS: Since 1970, the top 100 articles have been cited 7,300 times. The average citation count was 68 and standard deviation was 55. The majority were case series (71), followed by retrospective cohort (8), prospective cohort (7), retrospective case-control (5), and randomized controlled trials (2). Based on the "Level of Evidence Pyramid", 71 articles were level IV, 13 articles were level III, and 9 articles were level II. On the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) Scale, there were 71 articles with "very low," 20 articles with "low," and 2 articles with "moderate" quality of evidence.
    CONCLUSION: The top 100 cited articles were mostly case series and lacked high levels of evidence. Most studies are retrospective case series with short-term outcomes. However, low level evidence for new surgical procedures is to be expected. Current trends suggest the treatment and understanding of lymphedema will continue to improve.

       Aims and Objective: Although systematic reviews (SRs) are the backbone of evidence-based dentistry, they have appeared infrequently in dental literature and their importance may not be recognized by dentists. So, this study aimed to identify SRs in dental research contributed by Indian dentists to the PubMed database during 1948-2022 and describes their epidemiological and descriptive characteristics.
    Materials and Methods: An electronic search of the PubMed database was performed from 1948 through September 2022. SRs were considered for inclusion if they were related to oral health and published by Indian dentists as the first author. From this collection, the following characteristics of SRs were described: name of the journal, type of journal (e.g., general dentistry, specialty dentistry, non-dental), year of publication, author's affiliation, and focus of the SR.
    Results: The search identified 439 SRs in dentistry indexed in the PubMed database during 1948-2022. There were only 5 SRs published from 2007 to 2010 with maximum publications during the year 2021 (n = 114; 25.97%). About 32.35% of the SRs (n = 142) were published in 10 journals with the maximum contribution from the Journal of Conservative Dentistry (n = 22; 5.01%). The majority of the SRs were published in the field of Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry (n = 72; 16.40%), followed by Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics (n = 63; 14.35%).
    Conclusion: The contribution of SRs in dental research from India is small but growing. There is a clear need to improve SRs in dental research qualitatively and quantitatively.

       AIM OF THE STUDY: Our objective was to investigate current landscape of editorial board members at oncology journals with a focus on characteristics of editorial board members who serve on editorial boards at multiple journals concurrently.
    METHODS: We conducted a cross-sectional study describing characteristics of editorial board members at oncology journals with an impact factor (IF) of ≥ 10 in the 2020 Journal Citation Reports.
    RESULTS: A total of 73 journals in the period of 2016-2020 were analyzed. A total of 5833 editorial roles were included in our final analysis of which 3979 (68%) roles were carried by men and 3572 (61%) were members located in the US. Repeated roles occurred in 1101 (19%; range: 2-6 roles) of total included editorial roles and were distributed in 488 distinct editorial members. Most editorial board members with repeated roles carried either 2 roles (80%) or 3 roles (17%); however, 18 (3%) editorial board members carried ≥ 4 roles at different journals. A total of 23% of editors-in-chief carried another editorial role at a different journal. Only 1% of all editorial roles were carried by individuals affiliated with universities located in low- or middle-income countries.
    CONCLUSION: One-fifth of the editorial board positions were held by members who served on more than one editorial board, including members serving as editors-in-chief. Editors with repeated roles may be at higher risk for influence from competing interests and diminished quality of work, may contribute to publication delays, and may limit editorial opportunities for other qualified scientists.
    POLICY STATEMENT: A considerable number of editorial team members had multiple roles across various cancer-focused journals, including members serving as editors in chief. Such repeated roles limit appropriate representation and hinders diversity in academia. Regulations to prevent repeated editorial roles are needed.

      Biases in snake venom research have been partially identified but seldomly quantified. Using the Google Scholar web search engine, we collected a total of 267 articles published between 1964 and 2021, and reviewed them to assess the main trends in this field of study. We developed a 4-category classification of the harmful potential of each of the 298 snake species retrieved from the analysed publications, and tested whether taxonomy, realm of origin, and/or assigned hazard category could affect how often each of them appeared in the articles considered. Overall, viperids were significantly more represented than any other snake taxon retrieved. The Neotropics were the most represented biogeographic realm for number of studied species, whereas information about the country of origin of the analysed specimens was often incomplete. The vast majority of the publications focused on snake venom characterisation, whereas more ecology-related topics were rarely considered. Hazard category and biogeographic realm of origin of each species had a significant effect on the number of articles dedicated to it, suggesting that a snake's harmful potential and place of origin influence its popularity in venom studies. Our analysis showed an overall positive trend in the number of snake venom studies published yearly, but also underlined severe neglect of snake families of supposedly minor medical relevance (e.g., Atractaspididae), underrepresentation of some of the areas most impacted by snakebite (i.e., Indomalayan and Afrotropic realms), and limited interest in the ecological and functional context of snake venom.

      Nanomedicine has been extensively studied for its versatility and broad-spectrum applications of theranostics in the research of respiratory disease. However, to the best of our knowledge, a scientometrics study based on the scientific knowledge assay of the overall situation on nanomedicine applied in the research of respiratory disease has not been reported so far, which would be of major importance to relevant researchers. To explore and exhibit the research status and developing trend of nanomedicines deployed in basic or clinical research in respiratory disease, the research ecosystem and exciting subareas were profiled based on the massive data mining and visualization from the relevant works reported from 2006 to 2021. Data were collected from the Web of Science database. Data statistics software and bibliometric analysis software were employed to visualize the research trend and the relationship between respiratory diseases and nanomedicines in each representative direction. The cluster analysis and burst detections indicated that the improvement of drug delivery and vaccine developments are the up-to-date key directions in nanomedicines for respiratory disease research and treatments. Furthermore, we emphatically studied four branch areas in this field including COVID-19, nanotube, respiratory syncytial virus, and mRNA vaccine those are selected for in-depth mining and bibliometric coupling analysis. Research trends signify the future focuses will center on preventing respiratory diseases with mRNA vaccines using nanoparticle-based approaches. We anticipate our study will enable researchers to have the panorama and deep insights in this area, thus inspiriting further exploitations especially the nanobiomaterial-based systems for theranostic applications in respiratory disease treatment.

       BACKGROUND: The referral process is an important research focus because of the potential consequences of delays, especially for patients with serious medical conditions that need immediate care, such as those with metastatic cancer. Thus, a systematic literature review of recent and influential manuscripts is critical to understanding the current methods and future directions in order to improve the referral process.
    METHODS: A hybrid bibliometric-structured review was conducted using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. Searches were conducted of three databases, Web of Science, Scopus, and PubMed, in addition to the references from the eligible papers. The papers were considered to be eligible if they were relevant English articles or reviews that were published from January 2010 to June 2021. The searches were conducted using three groups of keywords, and bibliometric analysis was performed, followed by content analysis.
    RESULTS: A total of 163 papers that were published in impactful journals between January 2010 and June 2021 were selected. These papers were then reviewed, analyzed, and categorized as follows: descriptive analysis (n = 77), cause and effect (n = 12), interventions (n = 50), and quality management (n = 24). Six future research directions were identified.
    CONCLUSIONS: Minimal attention was given to the study of the primary referral of blood cancer cases versus those with solid cancer types, which is a gap that future studies should address. More research is needed in order to optimize the referral process, specifically for suspected hematological cancer patients.

       Background: To explore the geographical pattern and temporal trend of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) epidemiology from 1990 to 2019, and perform a bibliometric analysis of risk factors for ASD.
    Methods: In this study, ASD epidemiology was estimated with prevalence, incidence, and disability-adjusted life-years (DALYs) of 204 countries and territories by sex, location, and sociodemographic index (SDI). Age-standardized rate (ASR) and estimated annual percentage change (EAPC) were used to quantify ASD temporal trends. Besides, the study performed a bibliometric analysis of ASD risk factors since 1990. Publications published were downloaded from the Web of Science Core Collection database, and were analyzed using CiteSpace.
    Results: Globally, there were estimated 28.3 million ASD prevalent cases (ASR, 369.4 per 100,000 populations), 603,790 incident cases (ASR, 9.3 per 100,000 populations) and 4.3 million DALYs (ASR, 56.3 per 100,000 populations) in 2019. Increases of autism spectrum disorders were noted in prevalent cases (39.3%), incidence (0.1%), and DALYs (38.7%) from 1990 to 2019. Age-standardized rates and EAPC showed stable trend worldwide over time. A total of 3,991 articles were retrieved from Web of Science, of which 3,590 were obtained for analysis after removing duplicate literatures. "Rehabilitation", "Genetics & Heredity", "Nanoscience & Nanotechnology", "Biochemistry & Molecular biology", "Psychology", "Neurosciences", and "Environmental Sciences" were the hotspots and frontier disciplines of ASD risk factors.
    Conclusions: Disease burden and risk factors of autism spectrum disorders remain global public health challenge since 1990 according to the GBD epidemiological estimates and bibliometric analysis. The findings help policy makers formulate public health policies concerning prevention targeted for risk factors, early diagnosis and life-long healthcare service of ASD. Increasing knowledge concerning the public awareness of risk factors is also warranted to address global ASD problem.

      Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there has been a large body of literature focusing on the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and young people. The purpose of this study is to explore the current research status and the specific mechanism of COVID-19's effects on young people based on related literature. This paper mainly used VOS viewer and CiteSpace software to conduct a scientometric analysis of 5,077 publications retrieved from the Web of Science database. The results show that the main contributors to the field were mainly from North America and Europe, and the trend of research focus was from shallow to deep. The five main research areas in the field were summarized by keyword clustering analysis as follows: lifestyle changes due to lockdown; changes in stress and emotions; psychological illness and trauma; risk perception and practice toward the epidemic; interventions and social support. Finally, they were linked by four pathways to form a framework that integrates the relationships between the five domains and between elements within each of them, revealing the mechanism of COVID-19's effect on young people. In addition, less studied but promising elements are also presented in the framework, such as research on special groups (disadvantaged socioeconomic groups and sexual minority youth) and extreme suicidal tendencies that deserve our further attention.

      Despite proven scientific quality of menstrual blood mesenchymal cells, research and science output using those cells is still incipient, which suggests there is a resistance to the study of this type of cell by scientists, and a lack of attention to its potential for cell therapy, regenerative medicine and bioengineering. This study analyzes the literature about the menstrual blood mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (mbMSC) on the PubMed database between 2008-2020 and the social attention it received on Twitter. A comparative analysis showed that mbMSC accounts for a very small portion of mesenchymal cell research (0.25%). Most first authors are women (53.2%), whereas most last authors are men (63.74%), reinforcing an already known, and still significant, gender gap between last and corresponding authors. Menstrual blood tends to be less used in experiments and its scientific value tends to be underestimated, which brings gender bias to a technical and molecular level. Although women are more positive in the mbMSC debate on Twitter, communication efforts toward visibility and public interest in menstrual cells has room to grow.

      Urban sprawl is a development theme of cities all over the world, especially in developing countries with rapid urbanization, and the long-established rough and outward urban growth pattern has brought about a series of social and ecological problems. As an important tool in controlling urban sprawl in western countries, the urban growth boundary (UGB) has become one of the three major policy tools in the national spatial planning system since it was introduced into China. Combined with a bibliometric analysis, this literature review summarizes UGB studies on development and evolution, delimitation means, and implementation management and provides references for studying UGB adaptability in China. The results show that: (1) Originating from Howard's garden city concept, UGB studies have formed a relatively complete system of "theoretical basis, technical methods, supporting policies, and implementation management" through long-term empirical research in foreign countries. With a relatively late start in China, UGB research currently focuses on different situations between China and abroad and the adaptation of China's localization. (2) UGB delimitation mainly includes two aspects: forward expansion, which, from the urban development perspective, is mainly supported by cellular automata (CA) urban growth simulation; and reverse restriction, which, from the ecological protection perspective, is supported by ecological security pattern construction, ecological sensitivity evaluation, and land suitability evaluation. (3) Many foreign UGB implementations have different forms and more flexible and comprehensive corresponding supporting policies. However, the current state of research in China in this area is still insufficient. Against the background of the national spatial planning system reform, the findings of this review provide references for delineating UGB that considers ecological protection and urban development under the scenarios of planning, formulating a supporting mechanism for multi-subject participation and multi-party coordination, and establishing an adjustment system based on implementation effect evaluation.

      To study the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on journal processing times before publication in the field of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery (ORL-HNS). Online search of original papers published in selected ORL-HNS journals in terms of times from submission to acceptance (S-A), acceptance to first online publication (A-P), and submission to online publication (S-P). Papers were divided into those published in the pre-COVID-19 era and those during the COVID-19 era. The latter were further divided into unrelated to COVID-19 and related to COVID-19. A total of 487 articles from 5 selected ORL-HNS journals were included, of which 236 (48.5%) were published during the pre-COVID-19 era and 251 (51.5%) were published during the COVID-19 era. Among them, 180 (37%) papers were not related to COVID-19, and 71 (14.5%) were related to COVID-19. The S-A duration of COVID-19-related articles was significantly shorter compared to papers submitted in the pre-COVID-19 era and to papers submitted in the COVID-19 era but unrelated to COVID-19 (median 6-34 days compared to 65-125 and 46-127, respectively) in all 5 journals. The most prominent reductions in S-A and S-P times were documented in the laryngology and otology/neurotology disciplines, respectively. Processing times of the included papers were significantly shorter in most of the selected ORL-HNS journals during the COVID-19 era compared to the pre-COVID-19 era. COVID-19-related papers were processed more rapidly than non-COVID-19-related papers. These findings testify to the possibility of markedly expediting S-P times and hopefully set a precedent for post-pandemic publishing schedules.

      With the ongoing expansion of tourism, a conflict has arisen between economic growth in the tourism industry and environmental preservation, which has attracted the interest of government and academic groups. Because it enables the adaption of tourist activities and buildings in the tourism area in order to protect the natural resources of the scenic area while seeking economies of scale, the tourism environmental carrying capacity system is an essential tool for resolving this conundrum. It also enables tourist sites to grow sustainably while understanding their limitations and carrying capacity. This study uses Citespace 6.1.2 and VOSviewer 1.6.18 analysis software to conduct a bibliometric analysis and review of 297 articles on tourism environmental carrying capacity. This analysis includes early warning studies, assessment models and management tools, and analyses of keyword co-occurrence and emergent word co-occurrence. The article's conclusion makes recommendations for further research, including the division of each interest group, improved dynamic forecast and early warning of tourism environmental carrying capacity, and the development of an objective, scientific model of tourism carrying capacity.

      As the most severe damage form of tailings ponds, dam failure causes a serious threat and damage to the surrounding lives and environment. Therefore, based on the systematic collection and consultation of relevant data at home and abroad, the literature source analysis on tailings dam failure disasters is conducted using the CiteSpace scientometric tool. The research on tailings dam failure disasters can be classified into two stages: the preliminary germination stage and rapid development stage. Based on the scientometric knowledge map, the research hotspots of tailings dam failure disasters are analyzed and summarized as three main research directions: environmental impact, risk assessment, and mechanical behavior. With the maturity of the research on ecological problems caused by tailings leakage, ecological restoration has also gradually become a hot research topic. Through the analysis of keyword bursts and co-cited bursts, the research frontier of tailings dam break disaster is explored. "Risk management," "real-time monitoring," and "tailings characteristic" represent the current research frontier. Among them, risk management is burst for the longest time and is expected to be a very important research direction in the future. Finally, a tailings pond risk management and control suggestion is proposed with risk management as the core, emphasizing risk monitor, and combined with dynamic risk control, which provides a foundation for the construction of tailings dam safety management and dynamic monitoring systems.
