      BACKGROUND: Acupuncture has been increasingly used in patients with chronic pain, yet no bibliometric analysis of acupuncture studies for chronic pain exists.OBJECTIVES: To investigate the characteristics, hotspots and frontiers of global scientific output in acupuncture research for chronic pain over the past decade.
    METHODS: We retrieved publications on acupuncture for chronic pain published from 2011 to 2022 from the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-expanded) of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC). The co-occurrence relationships of journals/countries/institutions/authors/keywords were performed using VOSviewer V6.1.2, and CiteSpace V1.6.18 analyzed the clustering and burst analysis of keywords and co-cited references.
    RESULTS: A total of 1616 articles were retrieved. The results showed that the number of annual publications on acupuncture for chronic pain has increased over time, with the main types of literature being original articles (1091 articles, 67.5 %) and review articles (351 articles, 21.7 %). China had the most publications (598 articles, 37 %), with Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (93 articles, 5.8 %) and Evidence-based Complementary and Alternative Medicine ranked first (169 articles, 10.45 %) as the most prolific affiliate and journal, respectively. Liang FR was the most productive author (43 articles), and the article published by Vickers Andrew J in 2012 had the highest number of citations (625 citations). Recently, "acupuncture" and "pain" appeared most frequently. The hot topics in acupuncture for chronic pain based on keywords clustering analysis were experimental design, hot diseases, interventions, and mechanism studies. According to burst analysis, the main research frontiers were functional connectivity (FC), depression, and risk.
    CONCLUSION: This study provides an in-depth perspective on acupuncture for chronic pain studies, revealing pivotal points, research hotspots, and research trends. Valuable ideas are provided for future research activities.

      Background: As a promising neuromodulation technique, vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) has been utilized to treat diverse diseases and the number of VNS studies has grown prosperously. Nonetheless, publication trends and research hotspots in this field remain unknown. This study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis to systematically identify publication trends and research hotspots in VNS research within a 20-year panorama.Methods: The Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database was retrieved to screen eligible VNS-related publications from 2002 to 2021. The online analytic tool of the WoSCC database was used to analyze various bibliometric parameters, such as the number of annual publications, the output of countries/regions, journals, total citations, citations per publication, and the Hirsch index. Bibliometrics (http://bibliometric.com/) and CiteSpace (version 5.6.R3) were used to identify research trends and hotspots.
    Results: A total of 7,283 publications were included for analysis. The annual number of publications increased stably but it increased significantly in recent years. The top five prolific countries were the United States, China, Germany, England, and France. The top five productive institutions were the University of California (Los Angeles), Harvard Medical School, Harvard University, University College London, and the University of Texas at Dallas. Notably, there was a geographical imbalance in countries and institutions. In addition, Epilepsy & Behavior, Epilepsia, and Plos One were the top three journals with the largest number of VNS publications. Michael P Kilgard was the most prolific author. Moreover, evolving research hotspots mainly included the effectiveness and mechanism of VNS on epilepsy, the role of VNS as an anti-inflammatory regulator, the application of VNS for psychiatric disorders, and the neuromodulation effect of VNS in headache management.
    Conclusion: This study has revealed the overall publication trends and evolving research trends at a global level over a 20-year panorama. The potential collaborators, institutions, hotspots, and future research trends are also identified in this field, which will help guide new research directions of VNS.

      Background: This study aimed to conduct a bibliometric analysis of publications on connectomes and illustrate its trends and hotspots using a machine-learning-based text mining algorithm.Methods: Documents were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) and Scopus databases and analyzed in Rstudio 1.3.1. Through quantitative and qualitative methods, the most productive and impactful academic journals in the field of connectomes were compared in terms of the total number of publications and h-index over time. Meanwhile, the countries/regions and institutions involved in connectome research were compared, as well as their scientific collaboration. The study analyzed topics and research trends by R package "bibliometrix." The major topics of connectomes were classified by Latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA).
    Results: A total of 14,140 publications were included in the study. NEUROIMAGE ranked first in terms of publication volume (1,427 articles) and impact factor (h-index:122) among all the relevant journals. The majority of articles were published by developed countries, with the United States having the most. Harvard Medical School and the University of Pennsylvania were the two most productive institutions. Neuroimaging analysis technology and brain functions and diseases were the two major topics of connectome research. The application of machine learning, deep learning, and graph theory analysis in connectome research has become the current trend, while an increasing number of studies were concentrating on dynamic functional connectivity. Meanwhile, researchers have begun investigating alcohol use disorders and migraine in terms of brain connectivity in the past 2 years.
    Conclusion: This study illustrates a comprehensive overview of connectome research and provides researchers with critical information for understanding the recent trends and hotspots of connectomes.

      Purpose: Research on the effects of acupuncture on autonomic function has been conducted for several decades, and a few notable studies have emerged in recent years. This study used bibliometric analysis to assess 100 top-cited articles to characterize the current status and research trends over the last three decades.Methods: The 100 top-cited publications were identified from the Web of Science Core Collection database. The bibliometrix package in R was used for quantitative and qualitative analyses of the publication patterns and the country/region, institution, and author contributions. VOSviewer was used to construct networks based on co-citation analysis of the journals and the keyword co-occurrence.
    Results: The 100 top-cited articles were identified with a total of 8,123 citations (range: 37-345). The majority of the articles came from the USA (n = 42), followed by Japan (n = 14) and mainland China (n = 13). Articles from the USA exhibited the largest number of citations (3,582 citations), followed by articles from Japan (1,189 citations), then articles from mainland China (755 citations). Neurosciences/Neurology was the most studied research area (n = 41). The Autonomic Neuroscience: Basic and Clinical published the largest number of papers (n = 14), while Brain Research received the largest number of citations (205 citations). Longhurst JC was the most productive author (10 publications), and Sato A was first among the cited authors (87 citations). The most frequently cited articles that focused on gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, or gynecologic responses to acupuncture regulation of the autonomic nervous system first appeared in the 1990s, peaked in the 2000s, then decreased after 2010. Publication of articles focused on the anti-inflammatory effects of acupuncture associated with autonomic function demonstrated an increasing trend over the last three decades.
    Conclusion: From the initial studies focusing on the autonomic mechanism of visceral responses to acupuncture, researchers concentrated on exploring the autonomic mechanism of acupuncture in the control of systemic inflammation. Non-invasive electrical methods that activate somato-autonomic reflexes are current translational directions in clinical practice. Additional investigation of the underlying neuroanatomical basis of somato-autonomic reflexes also is needed.

      Objectives: With low-dose computed tomography(CT) lung cancer screening, many studies with an increasing number of patients with ground-glass opacity (GGO) are published. Hence, the present study aimed to analyze the published studies on GGO using bibliometric analysis. The findings could provide a basis for future research in GGO and for understanding past advances and trends in the field.Methods: Published studies on GGO were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection. A bibliometric analysis was conducted using the R package and VOSviewer for countries, institutions, journals, authors, keywords, and articles relevant to GGO. In addition, a bibliometric map was created to visualize the relationship.
    Results: The number of publications on GGO has been increasing since 2011. China is ranked as the most prolific country; however, Japan has the highest number of citations for its published articles. Seoul National University and Professor Jin Mo Goo from Korea had the highest publications. Most top 10 journals specialized in the field of lung diseases. Radiology is a comprehensive journal with the greatest number of citations and highest H-index than other journals. Using bibliometric analysis, research topics on "prognosis and diagnosis," "artificial intelligence," "treatment," "preoperative positioning and minimally invasive surgery," and "pathology of GGO" were identified. Artificial intelligence diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment may be the future of GGO. In addition, most top 10 literatures in this field were guidelines for lung cancer and pulmonary nodules.
    Conclusions: The publication volume of GGO has increased rapidly. The top three countries with the highest number of published articles were China, Japan, and the United States. Japan had the most significant number of citations for published articles. Most key journals specialized in the field of lung diseases. Artificial intelligence diagnosis and minimally invasive treatment may be the future of GGO.

      In 1961, the Journal of Religion and Health (JORH) commenced publishing articles that examined modern religious and spiritual philosophy in relation to psychology and health. The year 2021 marked the 60th anniversary of the founding of JORH. This research paper retrospectively analyses the journal's content. It provides insight into JORH's publication trends, citation records, prominent themes, authors' collaboration and its aggregate contribution to the field of religion and health. Over time, the number of publications, citations and downloads of JORH articles have substantially increased, as has the journals prominence and diverse contributions to the study of religion, spirituality and health.

      BACKGROUND: Numerous studies on myocardial ischemia/reperfusion (MI/R) injury have been undertaken in recent years. Hotspots and developmental trends in MI/R research are being rapidly updated. However, there has been no bibliometric analysis that systematically evaluates existing literature on MI/R injury. Our study explores developments in MI/R research over the past decade, and provides a reference for future research.MATERIALS AND METHODS: Both experimental and clinical publications on MI/R injury from 2012 to 2021 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. The CiteSpace and VOSviewer tools were used to perform a bibliometric analysis.
    RESULTS: A total of 8419 papers were analyzed. The number of annual publications demonstrated an overall upward trend, rising from 629 publications in 2012 to 1024 publications in 2021. China, the USA, Germany, England, and Italy were the top five contributors to MI/R studies. The Fourth Military Medical University in China contributed the most publications (188, 2.23%), while the University College London in England cooperated the most with relevant research institutions. Derek J Hausenloy (University College London), Derek M Yellon (University College London), and Gerd Heusch (University of Essen Medical School) were the top three most active and influential scholars according to the H-index. Among the top 10 journals with the most publications, Basic Research in Cardiology had the highest impact factors. The top three co-cited journals were Circulation, Circulation Research, and Cardiovascular Research. According to a co-cited reference analysis, MI/R research can be divided across 10 major subfields of mitophagy, cardioprotection, inflammation, remote ischemic preconditioning, long non-coding RNA, melatonin, postconditioning, mitochondria, microvascular obstruction, and ferroptosis. After 2018, the keywords with strongest citation bursts included extracellular vesicles, long non-coding RNA, cell proliferation, microRNA, mitochondrial quality control, mitophagy, biomarker, and mitochondrial biogenesis.
    CONCLUSIONS: The present study reveals the influential authors, cooperating institutions, and main research foci in the field of MI/R injury in the past decade. The latest hotspots are a more in-depth insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying MI/R injury, such as mitochondrial quality control, non-coding RNAs, cell proliferation, and extracellular vesicles.

      BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Ten-eleven translocation-2 (TET2) is member of the methylcytosine dioxygenase family and plays important roles in a variety of physiological and pathological processes; however, no bibliometric analysis has been performed to methodically evaluate the scientific research on TET2. Therefore, the aim of this study was to conduct a visual and scientometric analysis of TET2 research and to explore its current landscape, future direction, and research frontiers.METHODS: Publications related to TET2 research were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) from 2009 to 2021. Excel, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer were utilized to perform the bibliometric visualization analysis.
    RESULTS: A total of 2384 articles were retrieved. The number of publications on TET2 has been steadily increasing from 2009 to 2021. The USA is the top contributor to the topic, with the largest number of publications. Harvard University and the Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale were the leading institutions, while Levine RL of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is the most prolific and influential author. In TET2-related publications, the high-frequency keywords were: "tet2", "DNA methylation", "5-hrdroxymethylcytosine", "5-methylcytosine", "mutations", and "acute myeloid-leukemia". Based on keyword bursts, the emerging TET2 research hotspots include "inflammation", "gene expression", "landscape", and "clonal hematopoiesis".
    CONCLUSION: Research on TET2 is constantly growing and evolving during the last decade. Here, we provide an objective and comprehensive analysis of the global status, research hotspots, and potential trends in the field of TET2 research by using a bibliometric approach. These results will assist researchers in mastering the knowledge structure and guiding the future research directions of TET2.

      BACKGROUND: A total of 22,367 bibliometric articles have been indexed by Web of Science (WoS). The most significant contribution to the field has not yet been identified through bibliometric analysis. A comparison of individual research achievements (IRAs) and trend analysis of article citations are required after extracting bibliometric articles. The study aimed to confirm whether the leading author has a dominant RA and which articles are worth reading for readers using trend analysis.METHODS: We identified authors with at least 100 articles related to bibliometrics in the WoS core collection. A total of 399 articles were collected to cluster author collaborations. Co-word analysis and chord diagrams were used to match chief authors in clusters with Keywords Plus in WoS core collection. The category, journal impact factor, authorship, and L-index (CJAL) score and the absolute advantage coefficient (AAC) were used to compare IRAs and identify the leading author who dominated the field significantly beyond the next 2 authors. In addition to network charts and chord diagrams, 4 visualizations were used to report study results, including a Sankey diagram, a dot plot, a temporal trend graph, and a radar plot. The temporal bubble graph was used to select articles that deserve to be read.
    RESULTS: The top 3 authors were Lutz Bornmann, Yuh-Shan Ho, and Giovanni Abramo, with CJAL scores of 176.22, 176.02, and 112.06, respectively, from Germany, Italy, and Taiwan. Based on the weak dominance coefficient (AAC = 0.20 < 0.70), it is evident that the leading bibliometric author has no such significant power beyond the next 2 leading authors in IRAs. A trend analysis of the last 4 years was used to illustrate the 2 articles that deserve to be read.
    CONCLUSION: Three leading authors were identified through a co-word analysis of bibliometrics. There was no evidence of an author who possessed a dominant position due to a lower AAC on the leading author. The CJAL score and the AAC can be applied to many bibliographical studies in the future rather than being limited to bibliometric studies that evaluate the leading authors in a field, as we did in this study.

      AIM: To identify the most influential publications relating to artificial intelligence (AI) in radiology in order to identify current trends in the literature and to highlight areas requiring further research.MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective bibliometric analysis was performed of the top 100 most cited articles on this topic. Data pertaining to year of publication, publishing journal, journal impact factor, authorship, article title, institution, country, type of article, article subject, and keywords were collected.
    RESULTS: The number of citations per article for the top 100 list ranged from 254 to 3,576 (median 353). The number of citations per year, per article ranged from 10.4 to 894 (median 65.6). The majority of articles (n=62) were published within the last 10 years. The USA was the most common country of origin (n=44). The journal with the greatest number of articles was IEEE Transactions On Medical Imaging (n=38). University Medical Center Utrecht contributed the greatest number of articles (n=6). There were 92 original research articles, 52 of which were clinical studies. The most common clinical subjects were neuroimaging (n=25) and oncology (n=16). The most common keyword used was "deep learning" (n=34).
    CONCLUSION: This study provides an in-depth analysis of the top 100 most-cited papers on the use of AI in radiology. It also provides researchers with detailed insight into the current influential papers in this field, the characteristics of those studies, as well as potential future trends in this fast-developing area of radiology.

      As online media acquires increased utilization as a means of disseminating scientific research, Altmetric analyses are useful to identify socially impactful publications and their characteristics. Accordingly, the objective of this investigation was to determine the most mentioned articles online regarding craniofacial surgery and compare these articles with their most cited counterparts. Using the Web of Science database, 7097 craniofacial surgery publications were identified. Altmetric Attention Score (AAS) and average citations per year (ACpY) were extracted, and articles were ranked by their social and scientific impact. Descriptive, comparative, and correlational analyses were performed to examine characteristics including AAS, ACpY, country of origin, journal, open access (OA) status, publication year, study design, and topic. The average AAS of the 50 most mentioned articles was 83.68 (SD±107.40), and the average citation count of the 50 most cited articles was 76.38 (SD±35.15). OA status was significantly more prevalent among the most mentioned articles (24.0%) relative to all articles (10.72%) and the most cited articles (4.0%). The most mentioned and the most cited articles primarily originated from the United States (64.0% and 38.0%, respectively), discussed topics related to the medical and surgical management of patients (48.0% and 58.0%, respectively), and were systematic reviews (16.0% and 28.0%, respectively). However, there was significantly more geographic diversity in the latter cohort. In summary, this comparative examination reveals important differences between the most mentioned and most cited articles, highlighting the distinct utility of AAS and citation count when evaluating research impact.

      Background: The role of subchondral bone in the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis has received continuous attention worldwide. To date, no comprehensive bibliometric analysis of this topic has been carried out. The purpose of this study was to investigate the knowledge landscape, hot spots, and research trends in subchondral bone research through bibliometrics. Methods: Web of Science Core Collection database was used to collect articles and reviews on subchondral bone in osteoarthritis published between 2003 and 2022. CiteSpace, VOSviewer, Scimago Graphica, and a bibliometric online analysis platform (http://bibliometric.com/) were used to visualize the knowledge network of countries, institutions, authors, references, and keywords in this field. Both curve fitting and statistical plotting were performed using OriginPro, while correlation analysis was done using SPSS. Results: A total of 3,545 articles and reviews were included. The number of publications on subchondral bone showed an exponential growth trend. The US produced the most (980), followed by China (862) and the United Kingdom (364). Scientific output and gross domestic product were significantly correlated (r = .948, p < .001). The University of California System and Professor Pelletier Jean-Pierre were the most prolific institutions and influential authors, respectively. The most active and influential journal for subchondral bone research was Osteoarthritis and Cartilage. The majority of papers were financed by NSFC (474, 13.4%), followed by HHS (445, 12.6%), and NIH (438, 12.4%). In recent years, hot keywords have focused on the research of pathomechanisms (e.g., inflammation, apoptosis, pathogenesis, cartilage degeneration/repair, angiogenesis, TGF beta) and therapeutics (e.g., regeneration, stromal cell, mesenchymal stem cell). Conclusion: Subchondral bone research in osteoarthritis is flourishing. Current topics and next research trends would be centered on the pathomechanisms of cellular and molecular interactions in the subchondral bone microenvironment in the development of osteoarthritis and the exploration of targeted treatment medicines for the altered subchondral bone microenvironment.

      INTRODUCTION: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a global disease with high morbidity and mortality. At present, the treatment of AKI still lacks targeted measures. Ferroptosis, a form of regulated cell death, plays an essential role in the initiation and progression of AKI. Current evidence proves that targeting ferroptosis is supposed to be a novel potential strategy to cure AKI. In this study, we aim to use bibliometric analysis to identify research trends and hotspots in the field of "ferroptosis in AKI".METHODS: We chose the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-EXPANDED) index of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) as the source database for data retrieval. Data were retrieved from the WoSCC on May 24, 2022. Full records and cited references of all the documents in WoSCC were collected. The R software and the Online Analysis Platform of Literature Metrology were used for data analysis and visual analysis.
    RESULTS: There were 120 documents on "ferroptosis in AKI" in the WOSCC from 2014 to 2022 (May 24, 2022). There was a clear upward trend each year in the number of documents published. According to WoS report, China, the United States, and Germany were the top three countries involved in this research area, the majority of publications were included in the subject area "Cell Biology". Technical University of Dresden contributed the most publications, followed by Central South University and University of Pittsburgh. The Journal of Cell Death and Disease had the highest H-index and contributed the most publications. Linkermann A authored 16 articles and had the highest H-index. Multifactorial analysis of the keywords show that the research field is divided into two clusters. The most contributing publications and the most cited publications were also determined by factorial analysis.
    CONCLUSION: This bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive analysis of research trends and hot spots on the topic of "ferroptosis in AKI". The study of ferroptosis-related AKI research remains in its early stages. There will be a dramatically increasing number of publications on this field. Further research should focus on exploring the mechanisms of crosstalk between ferroptosis and other programmed cell deaths, and improves clinical applications and therapeutic effects against AKI.

      BACKGROUND: Acute lung injury (ALI)/acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a clinical syndrome associated with mitochondria and lacks effective preventive and therapeutic measures. This bibliometric study aims to gain insight into the scientific findings regarding mitochondria in ALI/ARDS.METHODS: We retrieved the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) of the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) for mitochondria in ALI/ARDS publications from 2012-2021. VOSviewer, CiteSpace (5.8. R3) and Bibliometrix (3.1.4) R package were used for further analysis and visualization.
    RESULT: A total of 756 English-language articles and reviews were identified. The annual number of publications presented a rapidly developing trend. China was the most productive and cited country, and the USA had the greatest impact. In the keyword co-occurring network, the terms "acute lung injury", "oxidative stress", "inflammation", "mitochondria" and "apoptosis" occurred most frequently. The co-citation network revealed that #1 mesenchymal stromal cell and #3 endothelial cell had the most bursts of citations. In addition, research hotspots have shifted from "potential therapeutic treatments" and "mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA)" to "endothelial cell" and "mesenchymal stromal cell (MSC)".
    CONCLUSION: This bibliometric analysis reveals the research directions and frontier hotspots of mitochondria in ALI/ARDS, which has shown a rapid growth trend in annual publication numbers. mtDNA, mitophagy, and apoptosis have been the most active research areas, while studies on mitochondrial transfer in stem cells have become a hot topic in recent years.

      Background: Nod-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome is essential in the pathogenesis of acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), a fatal clinical syndrome that deteriorated from acute lung injury (ALI). This bibliometric study aims to offer a thorough insight into the scientific output about NLRP3 inflammasome in ALI/ARDS and explore the intellectual base, developing trajectory and emerging trends.Methods: We retrieved the literature from 2010 to 2021 from Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) database. Bibliometrix (3.1.4) R package and CiteSpace (5.8.R3) were used for further analysis and visualization.
    Results: A total of 508 English articles and reviews published from 2010 to 2021 were identified. The annual number of publications presented a rapidly developing trend especially in recent years. Among all the 42 countries, China was the most productive and most cited country, while the USA had the greatest impact. Peter A. Ward from the USA was the most productive corresponding author, and 4 of these top 10 corresponding authors were from China. The most cited reference was written by Ahmed (2017) of Zhejiang University in China. The Journal of Immunology had highest citation count and G-index. Furthermore, the major disciplines of research front have drifted from "Medicine, Medical, Clinical" to "Molecular, Biology, Immunology" over the past 12 years. In the co-occurring network, the terms "acute lung injury," "NLRP3 inflammasome," "interleukin-1β," "NF-κB," and "NLRP3 activation" occurred most frequently, while in burst detection, "oxidative stress" had the highest burst strength. Co-citation network revealed that Cluster 2 "virus infection" was the most active area, including the most citation bursts. Cluster 0 "severe COVID-19" and Cluster 1 "dual inhibitor PTUPB" were emerging themes in recent years, and they involved the largest number of publications.
    Conclusions: This bibliometric analysis revealed a rapid growth trend of the relatively novel topic: NLRP3 inflammasome in ALI/ARDS. China was the largest contributor, while the USA offered the most landmark papers. The major disciplines of research front drifted from "Medicine, Medical, Clinical" to "Molecular, Biology, Immunology." In recent years, studies about the role of NLRP3 in COVID-19-associated ALI/ARDS and oxidative stress became hot spots.

      AbstractDevelopment of the Nurse practitioner role and the specialisation of practice is an increasing focus in healthcare. To date, a bibliometric evaluation of scholarly work referring to Nurse Practitioners, has not been located in the published literature . With the aim of identifying the top 100 cited articles in the Nurse Practitioner domain the Scopus™ database was searched for Nurse Practitioner studies during 2007-2021. Using bibliometric analysis we identified prolific authors; annual trend; citation rates; countries of origin; and study design. There were 1768 papers identified across 360 peer reviewed journals in 33 countries. Finding from this analysis provides evidence of an evolving research area of inquiry which contributes to knowledge of the Nurse Practitioner role and scope of practice.

      Background and Purpose: Pain is one of the most common symptoms in patients after stroke. It is a distressing experience that affects patients' quality of life, and it is highly prevalent in clinical practice. The pathogenesis mechanisms of PSP are not so clear, and there is currently a lack of effective medical treatments, hence it is necessary to establish a sufficient understanding of this disease. Limited number of studies have applied bibliometric methods to systematically analyze studies on post-stroke pain. This study aimed to systematically analyze scientific studies conducted worldwide on post-stroke pain from 2012 to 2021 to evaluate global trends in this field using a bibliometric analysis.Methods: Publications related to post-stroke pain from 2012 to 2021 were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Bibliometrics Biblioshiny R-package software was used to analyze the relationship of publication year with country, institution, journals, authors, and keywords and to generate variant visual maps to show annual publications, most relevant countries, authors, sources, keywords, and top-cited articles.
    Results: In this study, 5484 papers met the inclusion criteria. The annual growth rate of publications was 5.13%. The USA had the highest number of publications (1381, 25.2%) and citations (36,395), and the University of Toronto had the highest number of papers (156, 2.8%). "Stroke", "management", "pain", "risk", "prevalence", "ischemic stroke", "risk factors", "disease", "diagnosis" and "therapy" are the top 10 keywords.
    Conclusion: The global research interest regarding PSP has maintained growing over the past ten years. Both central post stroke pain and hemiplegic shoulder pain are the hottest research subjects. Further investigations are needed in order to reveal the mystery of the pathophysiologic mechanisms of CPSP, and high-quality well-designed trials of potential treatments of CPSP and HSP are also needed.

      Tribes are the most vulnerable, particularly in healthcare. Health research in a population helps to understand the trends of various diseases and other social determinants causing them. Our study aims to perform a bibliometric analysis of Tribal research in India from its status quo.Materials and Methods: Research articles on tribal health were retrieved from Scopus and analyzed using MS Office, VOS viewer, and Word Cloud generator from January 2000 to December 2020. The number of research publications published each year, the clustering pattern of contributing authors, the most popular journals, the leading publication, document type, domain research areas, and commonly used keywords were all considered in the study.
    Results: As a result of the search, 1249 research publications were found. According to our selection criteria, only 395 research papers were included in the analysis. Approximately 43 research publications were published in 2020, but only three articles were published in 2000. Almost 35.7% of articles were published in traditional medicine, and 15.7% and 14.7% of articles were published in nutrition and infectious diseases. Less than 1% of articles were published in Health Policy, and 1.5% were published in Health Systems.
    Conclusions: The study results showed that the research on tribes has now been improving in the following years. Research into tribal mental health and health care systems should be encouraged. Collaboration and funding may assist academic institutions in raising awareness of health issues in these populations.

      Background: Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) has been rapidly accepted as a safe and effective therapy for achalasia and other esophageal motility disorders, and has inspired novel submucosal tunneling techniques. This study analyzed the trends in POEM research and compared contributions from different countries, regions, institutions, journals, and authors using bibliometric analysis to predict the trends and potential hotspots in POEM research.Methods: Publications concerning POEM from January 1, 2010 to February 25, 2022, were extracted from the Web of Science database. Book chapters, retrieved manuscripts, news, erratum, non-English language publications, and irrelevant publications were excluded. Data, including keywords for each article, were collected, and network analysis was conducted. Microsoft Excel and VOSviewer were used to collect publication data, analyze publication trends, and visualize relevant results.
    Results: A total of 1,853 publications were identified. Gastrointestinal Endoscopy has been the most popular journal in this field (n=383, 20.67%). Research from the United States was the largest contributor to POEM research worldwide and has provided a pivotal influence (n=743), followed by research from China (n=346) and Japan (n=223). Showa University (Japan) was the most active institution in the field of POEM research. In terms of authors, Dr. Inoue published the most papers in the field with the highest average citation number. Keywords were categorized into 5 clusters: management and outcomes, POEM-derived new techniques, diagnosis and classification, comparison with other treatment approaches, and fundoplication and POEM in children. Average appearing years of keywords was calculated. The topics of adverse events, gastroparesis, and gastric POEM (G-POEM) appeared most recently.
    Conclusions: Researchers from the United States, China, and Japan have published the most articles in the field of POEM research, but there was a disparity between the quantity and quality of publications. Research of management and POEM-derived novel techniques were considered potential areas of focus for future research.

      Extant literature indicates that the concepts of international trade and the environment are intertwined. There is a plethora of theoretical and empirical research studies that explore the relationship between the two concepts. However, no bibliometric attempts have been made to analyze these publications to understand the current research trends in the trade and environment regulation/protection/policy intersection. Hence, the present study conducted a bibliometric analysis of 1390 research articles collected from the Scopus database from 2000 to 2021. The study accomplished performance and science mapping analysis using Bibliometrix and VOSViewer software. The study shows an increasing publication trend. The most productive country was the USA (259 publications with 8400 citations), and the most productive institution was the University of California (33 publications). The study found that Cole MA was the most relevant author in this area by considering multiple matrices. By using keywords, conceptual structure, and bibliographic coupling analysis, the study suggests that future studies can be conducted on climate change, carbon leakage, climate policy, environmental protection, air pollution, economic growth, carbon dioxide emission, emission trading, abatement cost, environmental performance, green supply chain management, composition effect, carbon footprints, and multi-regional input-output model. The current study provides scholars and practitioners interested in trade and environmental interlinkages with a comprehensive overview of the domain by presenting readers with significant studies, authors, universities, concepts, and sources. Further, the study results will be helpful for scholars to get insights into the current research development trends and research themes in the trade and environmental regulation field.

      BACKGROUND: We performed a bibliometric analysis of the American Journal of Surgery (AJS) to identify, characterize and place within a historical context, its published classic cited papers (CCPs).METHODS: Bibliometric data from papers published in the AJS between January 1, 1945, and December 31, 2021 was extracted from the Web of Science database. Analysis was performed utilizing Bibliometrix and VOSViewer software.
    RESULTS: 27,070 papers were published in the AJS over the study period. There were 16 CCPs, including 5 Top CCPs, identified. Review of the Top CCPs reveals that they are based on careful clinical observations, innovation and generally build on prior published work. Top CCPs usually are specific to a particular diagnosis or a commonly performed procedure, as such papers frequently present a scoring or classification system, or important details related to new operative approaches or techniques.
    CONCLUSIONS: Bibliometric study of the AJS has allowed for identification, characterization and appreciation of many of the key changes that have occurred in the discipline throughout the history of modern surgery.

      BACKGROUND: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has been widely used to alleviate osteoarthritis of the knee, and research results are abundant. However, there are no bibliometric reports in publications in this field. Therefore, the current status of PRP for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee from 2011 to 2021 was analyzed using Citespace 6.1.R2 software.METHODS: Publications regarding PRP treating Knee Osteoarthritis between 2011 and 2021 were extracted from the Web of Science database. CiteSpace was used to analyze the number of publications, countries, institutions, journals, authors, cited references, and keywords by using standard bibliometric indicators.
    RESULTS: A total of 988 publications were searched from 2011 to 2021. In the last decade, the number of publications has increased in the field. Brian J. Cole was the author with the most output, with 31 relevant articles, and Giuseppe Filardo ranked first in cited authors. Am J Sport Med was the most cited journal. In this field, the most prolific country is the United States and the most prolific institution is Rush University. An article published by Sandeep Patel ranked first in cited references with 118 citations. "Randomized controlled trial" was the most bursting keyword and other more popular keywords about PRP for knee osteoarthritis: "hyaluronic acid," "double-blind," and "mesenchymal stem cell."
    CONCLUSION: This bibliometric study provides a decade of current clinical research on PRP for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee, which can help researchers understand the hot spots in the field and provide a new direction for their research.

      Home-based cardiac rehabilitation has been a major area in cardiac rehabilitation research for a long time. However, there are few systematic studies in this field using bibliometric analysis. We collected articles and reviews for home-based cardiac rehabilitation from the Web of Science Core Collection. Our objectives were to perform a bibliometric analysis and visualization study to determine hotspots and trends of home-based cardiac rehabilitation, identify collaboration and influence among authors, countries, institutions, and journals, and assess the knowledge base to develop clinical research in the future. This study will provide a valuable reference for researchers concerned with HBCR.

      This paper presents an integrated and easy methodology for bibliometric analysis. The proposed methodology is evaluated on recent research activities to highlight the role of the Internet of Things in healthcare applications. Different tools are used for bibliometric studies to explore the breadth and depth of different research areas. However, these Methods consider only the Web of Science or Scopus data for bibliometric analysis. Furthermore, bibliometric analysis has not been fully utilised to examine the capabilities of the Internet of Things for medical devices and their applications. There is a need for an easy methodology to use for a single integrated analysis of data from many sources rather than just the Web of Science or Scopus. A few bibliometric studies merge the Web of Science and Scopus to conduct a single integrated piece of research. This paper presents a methodology that could be used for a single bibliometric analysis across multiple databases. Three freely available tools, Excel, Perish or Publish and the R package Bibliometrix, are used for the purpose. The proposed bibliometric methodology is evaluated for studies related to the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) and its applications in healthcare settings. An inclusion/exclusion criterion is developed to explore relevant studies from the seven largest databases, including Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE, ACM digital library, PubMed, Science Direct and Google Scholar. The study focuses on factors such as the number of publications, citations per paper, collaborative research output, h-Index, primary research and healthcare application areas. Data for this study are collected from the seven largest academic databases for 2012 to 2022 related to IoMT and their applications in healthcare. The bibliometric data analysis generated different research themes within IoMT technologies and their applications in healthcare research. The study has also identified significant research areas in this field. The leading research countries and their contributions are another output from the data analysis. Finally, future research directions are proposed for researchers to explore this area in further detail.

      Artificial intelligence and its subcategories of machine learning and deep learning are gaining increasing importance and attention in the context of sports research. This has also meant that the number of corresponding publications has become complex and unmanageably large in human terms. In the current state of the research field, there is a lack of bibliometric analysis, which would prove useful for obtaining insights into the large amounts of available literature. Therefore, the present work aims to identify important research issues, elucidate the conceptual structure of the research field, and unpack the evolutionary trends and the direction of hot topics regarding key themes in the research field of artificial intelligence in sports. Using the Scopus database, 1215 documents (reviews and articles) were selected. Bibliometric analysis was performed using VOSviewer and bibliometrix R package. The main findings are as follows: (a) the literature and research interest concerning AI and its subcategories is growing exponentially; (b) the top 20 most cited works comprise 32.52% of the total citations; (c) the top 10 journals are responsible for 28.64% of all published documents; (d) strong collaborative relationships are present, along with small, isolated collaboration networks of individual institutions; (e) the three most productive countries are China, the USA, and Germany; (f) different research themes can be characterized using author keywords with current trend topics, e.g., in the fields of biomechanics, injury prevention or prediction, new algorithms, and learning approaches. AI research activities in the fields of sports pedagogy, sports sociology, and sports economics seem to have played a subordinate role thus far. Overall, the findings of this study expand knowledge on the research situation as well as the development of research topics regarding the use of artificial intelligence in sports, and may guide researchers to identify currently relevant topics and gaps in the research.

      This study aimed to review the current state of the root caries field, explore the current hot topic, and anticipate future research frontiers. The Web of Science Core Collections (WoSCC) was searched to acquire publications that were relevant to root caries from 1992 to 2021. After retrieval and manual screening, the co-occurrence and co-operation analysis of keywords and countries/institutions/authors were performed through Citespace and VOSviewer based on two periods (1992-2006 and 2007-2021). From 1992 to 2021, 451 unique publications were selected. The USA, which has been the center of international cooperation, has produced the most publications in the research area in 1992-2021. Journal of Dental Research and Caries Research are the main counterpart journals in the field of root caries. The University of London is the institution with the highest number of publications in the analyzed 30 years. "Demineralization," "remineralization," "aged," "dentin," and "fluoride" have been commonly used as keywords throughout the past 30 years. More studies from different aspects have been published in the field of root caries in recent years (2007-2021). The findings of this study provide a full picture of the last 30 years in this research area; hopefully, they also provide essential information for researchers and policymakers to make decisions.

      Gallium nitride (GaN) has a wide energy band gap and a high power density, efficiency, switching frequency, and electron carrier mobility, having broad applications in digitization. Because GaN has high potentials, this study performed a bibliometric analysis on the publications of GaN indexed in the Web of Science database from 1970 to 2023. A performance analysis of the 15,634 publications was performed using Harzing's Publish or Perish tool, while science mappings were performed with VOSviewer software. The results show that there has been an uptrend in the on-going research on GaN, especially in the past decade. Most of the documents are within the fields of physics, engineering, and materials science. The United States has the highest number of publications and the most impactful research. The United States is also actively collaborating with other countries to gain deeper insights into GaN. The analysis shows that the concentration of GaN research is slowly moving towards the development of high-voltage operations.

      Objective: Electrical impedance tomography (EIT) develops rapidly in technology and applications. Nowadays EIT is used in multiple clinical and experimental scenarios including pulmonary, brain, and tissue monitoring, etc. The present study explores the research trends and hotspots on EIT extrapulmonary application research by bibliometrics analysis.Approach: Publications on EIT extrapulmonary applications between 1987 and 2021 were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. For precise screening, search strategy "electrical impedance tomography" plus "hemodynamic" or "brain" or "nerve" or "cancer" or "venous" or "vessel" or "tumor" or "veterinary" or "tissue" or "cell" or "wearable" or "application" and excluding "lung", "ventilation" "respiratory", "pulmonary", "algorithm", "current", "voltage" or "electrode" were used. CiteSpace and VOSviewer were used to analyze the publication features, collaboration, keywords co-occurrence, and co-cited reference.
    Main results: A total of 506 articles were finally identified. The global publication numbers on extrapulmonary applications gradually increased yearly in the past 30 years. The US, UK, and China contributed most three publications concerning EIT extrapulmonary applications. "tissues", "conductivity", "model" were research hotspots, and "cutaneous melanoma", "microstructure", "diagnosis" were recent topics (Portions of this research have previously been presented in poster form).
    Significance: Overall, EIT extrapulmonary applications bibliometrics analysis provides a unique insight into research focus, current trends, and future directions.

      Foot reflexology is a non-invasive complementary therapy that is increasingly being accepted by modern people in recent years. To understand the research trends and prospects of foot reflexology in the past 31 years, this study used the Web of Science core collection as the data source and two visualization tools, COOC and VOSviewer, to analyze the literature related to the field of foot reflexology from 1991 to 2021. This study found that the number of articles published in the field of foot reflexology has been increasing year by year, and the top three journals with the most articles are Complementary Therapies in Clinical Practice, Therapies in Medicine, and the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. The top three most prolific authors are Wyatt, Sikorskii, and Victorson, and the core institutions in the field of foot reflexology are Michigan State University, Northwestern University, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and the University of Exeter. Foot reflexology has been shown to have a moderating effect on anxiety, fatigue, and cancer, and is a topic of ongoing and future research. This study uses this bibliometric analysis of foot reflexology literature to provide an overview of prior knowledge and a reference direction for modern preventive medicine.

      With the deterioration of the global/regional ecological environment, ecological restoration plays an important role in sustainable development. However, due to the differences in research methods, objectives, and perspectives, the research results are highly diverse. This makes it necessary to sort the publications related to ecological restoration, clarify the research status, grasp the research hotspots, and predict the future research trends. Here, 23,755 articles from the core database of Web of Science were retrieved, and bibliometric analysis was carried out to understand the global ecological restoration research progress from 1990 to 2022 from a macro perspective, with the aim to determine the future development direction. The results are as follows. (1) From 1990 to 2022, the number of publications in the field of ecological restoration constantly increased, and the fluctuation of the average annual citations increased. The most important articles were published in high-ranking journals. (2) Ecological restoration covers a wide range of research areas, including biodiversity, ecosystem services, climate change, land use, and ecological restoration theories and technologies. The four main hotspots in this field are heavy metal removal, soil microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen concentrations, grassland ecological restoration, and evaluation framework and modeling of ecological restoration's effects. Currently, studies focus on river basin remediation, heavy metal removal, and forest restoration. (3) Future ecological restoration research should strengthen the multi-object aspect and multi-scale ecological restoration research, improve the ecological restoration effect evaluation system, and incorporate social and economic issues. This study identified current research hotspots and predicted potential future research directions, providing a scientific reference for future studies in the field of ecological restoration.

      BACKGROUND: Allergic rhinoconjunctivitis (ARC) is a common chronic inflammatory disease. Numerous studies on the treatment of ARC have been published. By contrast, there are few bibliometric studies on immunotherapy for ARC. The purpose of this article is to describe the current treatments for ARC and to identify the trends in immunotherapy for ARC.METHODS: Publications were searched from the Web of Science (WOS) Core Collection on April 25, 2022. CiteSpace and Microsoft Excel software were used for further bibliometric analysis.
    RESULTS: A total of 969 publications on immunotherapy for ARC in English were retrieved. The number of relevant publications has been continuously increasing over the past 20 years, with many of the publications coming from Germany and the United States of America. In terms of institutions, the ALK Company in Denmark, Imperial College London in United Kingdom, and Charite-Universitatsmedizin Berlin in Germany published the most articles on immunotherapy for ARC. Meanwhile, Allergy and Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology published the most number of studies, and Oliver Pfaar from Germany authored the most number of articles. "Subcutaneous immunotherapy," "international consensus," "allergen immunotherapy," and "recommendation" were the most popular subjects. Thus, directions in research can be predicted as studies regarding mechanisms of ARC, clinical trials, and extracts have reported high-quality results.
    CONCLUSION: Over the past 20 years, the overall quality of research on immunotherapy for ARC has gradually improved, allowing the introduction of specific and targeted treatment. Currently, the main focus of ARC research is the novel routes of drug delivery and combined treatment with biological agents.

      PURPOSE: To provide relative citation ratio (RCR) benchmark data for the field of vitreoretinal surgery.DESIGN: Retrospective cohort study SUBJECTS: Fellowship-trained vitreoretinal faculty at ACGME-accredited institutions METHODS: Academic vitreoretinal surgeons were individually indexed using the NIH iCite Website. Publication count, mean RCR score, and weighted RCR score were collected for each author between June and July 2022 and included PubMed-listed articles from 1980 to 2022. Data were compared by gender, career duration, academic rank, and acquisition of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
    MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: Total number of publications, mean RCR value, weighted RCR value RESULTS: Our sample consisted of 677 academic vitreoretinal surgeons from 113 institutions. These physicians produced highly impactful research with a median publication count of 30 (IQR 11-82), median RCR of 1.78 (IQR 1.09-3.00), and median weighted RCR of 59.83 (14.31-195.78). Academic rank and career duration were associated with increased publication count, mean RCR, and weighted RCR. Publication count and weighted RCR differed significantly by gender, however, no difference was observed with mean RCR.
    CONCLUSIONS: Current academic vitreoretinal surgeons have high mean RCR values relative to the NIH standard RCR value of 1. This benchmark data serves as a more accurate gauge of research impact within the vitreoretinal community and can be used to inform self, institutional, and departmental evaluations. Additionally, the mean RCR may provide an accurate metric for quantifying research productivity among historically underrepresented groups that are disadvantaged by time-dependent factors such as number of publications.

      Recent reports show air pollutant magnetite nanoparticles (MNPs) in the brains of people with Alzheimer's disease (AD). Considering various field applications of MNPs because of developments in nanotechnology, the aim of this study is to identify major trends and data gaps in research on magnetite to allow for relevant environmental and health risk assessment. Herein, a bibliometric and systematic analysis of the published magnetite literature (n = 31 567) between 1990 to 2020 is completed. Following appraisal, publications (n = 244) are grouped into four time periods with the main research theme identified for each as 1990-1997 "oxides," 1998-2005 "ferric oxide," 2006-2013 "pathology," and 2014-2020 "animal model." Magnetite formation and catalytic activity dominate the first two time periods, with the last two focusing on the exploitation of nanoparticle engineering. Japan and China have the highest number of citations for articles published. Longitudinal analysis indicates that magnetite research for the past 30 years shifted from environmental and industrial applications, to biomedical and its potential toxic effects. Therefore, whilst this study presents the research profile of different countries, the development in research on MNPs, it also reveals that further studies on the effects of MNPs on human health is much needed.

      As the shallow mineral resources are nearly depleted, the mining of deep resources has become an urgent problem to be studied. The increase in mine depth can lead to the increase of mine heat hazard, which is a critical concern for mining safety/occupational health and safety. However, there are limited review articles available regarding the prevention of mine heat hazard. To fill in this gap, a bibliometric analysis and knowledge mapping of the field of mine heat hazard prevention are presented in this paper. A total of 314 papers from the Web of Science (WOS) core collection database that published between January 1998 and July 2022 were analyzed using VOSviewer and CiteSpace. China, South Africa, Poland, USA, and Australia are the top five countries in this field. The important journals are Applied Thermal Engineering, Applied Energy, Energies, and International Journal of Mining Science and Technology. In addition, the research focal points and two research fronts were identified and discussed. The knowledge base of mine heat hazard research focuses on mine cooling technology, energy efficiency optimization of cooling systems, thermodynamic theory, and occupational health. There are two research fronts. One is to use the numerical simulation method to study various problems such as simulate the performance of refrigeration systems and thermal comfort in mines. The second is to study the occupational health impact of climate change on miners. Therefore, this paper provides readers and academics with an overview of the intellectual structure and knowledge body that have been developed on the subject of mine heat hazard.

      Synthetic lethality (SL) is a lethal phenomenon with an important role in cancer treatment. This study was conducted to analyze the hotspots and frontiers in SL research. The Web of Science Core Collection (WOSCC) was used to identify the 100 top-cited articles related to SL research. Additionally, wee1 inhibitors combined with erastin were used to determine the effectiveness of SL in vitro and in vivo. Relevant articles were published mainly from 2009 to 2021, reaching a peak in 2020; articles published in 2010 were most frequently cited among the 100-top cited papers. Most studies (54%) were performed in the United States. Articles in Nature Chemical Biology were cited more frequently than articles in other journals, whereas Nature published the largest number of reports on SL. Among the 88 corresponding authors, CJ Lord was the most productive. Overlay visualization of keyword analysis revealed that the hotspots in SL research were PARP inhibitors, BRCA mutations, DNA damage repair, and carcinogenesis. CRISPR, ferroptosis, wee1, double-strand break (dsb) repair, myc, immunotherapy, and replication stress are emerging topics in SL research, whereas ovarian cancer, prostate stress, acute myeloid leukemia, and other topics have been used as disease models in recent years. The application and therapeutic strategy of SL in cancer is an emerging trend. Significantly, experiments verified that the wee1 inhibitor AZD1775 and ferroptosis activator erastin have synergistic effects on ovarian cancer in vitro and in vivo. Combining bibliometric analysis with experimental verification is a useful approach for SL research.

      This study aims to create an all-around insight into the evolutions, status, and global trends of rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) research via enhanced bibliometric methods for the 2001-2020 time period. Articles concerning RAS were extracted from the Web of Science database. CiteSpace, Bibliometrix, VOSviewer, and Graphpad Prism were employed to analyze publication patterns and research trends. A total of 586 publications related to RAS between 2001 and 2020 were retrieved from the Web of Science database. The researcher Goswami U. made the greatest contribution to this field. The University of Toronto was the institution that published the most articles. Motor dysfunction, sensory perception, and cognition are the three major domains of RAS research. Neural tracking, working memory, and neural basis may be the latest research frontiers. This study reveals the publication patterns and topic trends of RAS based on the records published between 2001 and 2020. The insights obtained provided useful references for the future research and applications of RAS.

      Cyberbullying prevalence is increasing in the world, being a form of abuse that follows victims into their most intimate settings. Cyberbullying affects victims' mental health, self-esteem, emotions, and academic performance. Cyberbullies present low levels of self-control and empathy. This research aimed to map scientific research on Cyberbullying and the Psychological Dimensions of the Self. A bibliometric analysis of scientific documents published in journals indexed in the Web of Science (WoS) was performed. Traditional bibliometric laws were applied and VOSviewer was used to generate visualizations. The annual publications followed exponential growth. Computers in Human Behaviour was the journal with the most publications. Researchers from the USA and Spain were the most prolific. Sameer Hinduja and Justin Patchin were the most cited authors. Hence, there is a growing interest among researchers in Cyberbullying and the emotional aspects of children and adolescents. The USA and Spain were the leading countries in research on this subject. Rosario Ortega-Ruiz, Sameer Hinduja and Justin Patchin were the most prolific and influential authors.

      Background: Although women and men have matriculated into medical schools in similar proportions since the 1980s, recent data indicate that anesthesiology is lagging in gender equity, especially in academic leadership roles.1,2 As promotion in academic medicine is strongly influenced by publications, understanding whether a lack of women authorship is contributing to this gender gap is crucial.3,4 This article aims to assess how woman authorship trends have changed in the last 16 years, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: The five highest impact journals in anesthesia were identified as Journal of Clinical Anesthesia, British Journal of Anaesthesia, Anesthesiology, PAIN, and Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine. Number of total authors, including women, men, and unknown gender authors as well as incidence of woman first and/or last author, was documented from articles published in 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2021. Results: This analysis shows that women are gaining representation in anesthesia publications. Overall, there was a statistically significant increase in the total number of women authors and women first and last authorship. However, as of 2021, women still only represented ∼40% of total and first authors and ∼24% of last authors. In addition, increase in first/last woman authorship was not present in all journals when stratified. Conclusion: These journal differences may suggest the editorial evaluation process as a potential source of gender bias. There was a statistically significant relationship between women senior authors and articles with 50% or more women authors, indicating that woman mentorship is contributing to closing equity gap. These data present a starting point for further investigations into gender disparities within anesthesia to continue the forward progression for women in academic medicine.

      Increasing trends of environmental pollution and emerging contaminants from anthropogenic activities have urged researchers to develop innovative strategies in wastewater management, including those using the biocatalyst laccase (EC 1.10.3.2). Laccase works effectively against a variety of substrates ranging from phenolic to non-phenolic compounds which only require molecular oxygen to be later reduced to H2O as the final product. In this study, we performed a bibliometric analysis on the metadata of literature acquired through the Scopus database (24 October 2022) with keyword combination "Laccase" AND "Pollutant" OR "Wastewater". The included publications were filtered based on year of publication (1978-2022), types of articles (original research articles and review articles) and language (English). The metadata was then exported in a CSV (.csv) file and visualized on VosViewer software. A total of 1865 publications were identified, 90.9% of which were original research articles and the remaining 9.1% were review articles. Most of the authors were from China (n = 416; 22.3%) and India (n = 276; 14.79%). In the case of subject area, 'Environmental Science' emerged with the highest published documents (n = 1053; 56.46%). The identified papers mostly cover laccase activity in degrading pollutants, and chitosan, which can be exploited for the immobilization. We encourage more research on laccase-assisted wastewater treatment, especially in terms of collaborations among organizations.

      The use of bibliometrics, based on statistical and mathematical tools, makes it possible to measure the contributions of researchers to science. This is a widely used tool to assess scientific production in several areas of knowledge. Such methodology analyzes publication trends, author networks, structures of co-citation, journals and even the scientific contribution of renowned scholars in science. The precursor of bibliometrics, Eugene Garfield, who proposes the retrieval of information from the indexing of citations, was the object of a scientometric review aimed at assessing his impact on science. Given such relevance, this article presents the academic contribution of Jürgen Habermas based on a preliminary scientometric review of his studies. Jürgen Habermas is regarded not only as an active scholar in the social and political process, but also as a productive, controversial and influential contemporary author. The correct understanding of his works is a great challenge, as the bases of his thinking are so broad that they allow an interface between different approaches. We elaborated a design of his scientific work with the advancement to a connection between his main ideas through the use of bibliometric software. Bibliometrics, of the scientometric type, allows the understanding of how recognized patterns in citations can develop information relevant to the scientific field. The results confirm the multidisciplinary contribution of Habermas's studies and highlight his main fields of research and works, which serve as a foundation for clearly understanding and applying his concepts.

      OBJECTIVE: Altmetric Attention Score (AAS) is an alternative metric for estimating the impact of academic publications. We studied the association of using podcasting to highlight publications about gynecological cancer with AAS and citation scores.METHODS: Articles that were featured in the International Journal of Gynecological Cancer (IJGC) podcast series January 2019 to September 2022 were matched 1:1 to control articles by the journal in which the article was published, study topic and design, single/multicenter data, and year of publication. Podcast articles were compared with matched-controls by citation metrics and altmetric scores.
    RESULTS: A total of 99 podcasted articles published in 16 journals were matched. Median AAS was significantly higher in the podcast group than the matched-control group (22 (14-42) vs 5 (1-17), p<0.001). In a multivariable regression analysis, podcasting was the only factor associated with a high AAS (adjusted odds ratio (aOR) 8.6, 95% CI 3.8 to 19.7). In the podcast group, the median number of citations per year was higher than matched-control studies (5.5 (3.0-12.7) vs 4.5 (2.0-9.5), p=0.047). The only article characteristics that were independently associated with ≥12 citations per year were if the publication described a randomized controlled trial (aOR 4.7, 95% CI 1.6 to 13.6) or featured cervical carcinoma as the subject focus (aOR 2.9, 95% CI 1.3 to 6.5). Compared with all articles published in IJGC during the study period, articles that were featured in a podcast had higher median citations per year (5 (2-10) vs 1 (0-2.5), p<0.001).
    CONCLUSION: When compared with matched-controls, podcasting an article is associated with a higher AAS but is not associated with generating a high (≥12) number of citations per year. When compared with all articles published in the same journal during the same study period, articles that were featured in a podcast had higher median citations per year.

      Midazolam is a drug with actions towards the central nervous system producing sedative and anticonvulsants effects, used for sedation and seizures treatments. A better understanding about its effects in the different scenarios presented in the literature could be helpful to gather information regarding its clinical indications, pharmacological interactions, and adverse events. From this perspective, the aim of this study was to analyze the global research about midazolam mapping, specifically the knowledge of the 100 most-cited papers about this research field. For this, a search was executed on the Web of Science-Core Collection database using bibliometric methodological tools. The search strategy retrieved 34,799 articles. A total of 170 articles were evaluated, with 70 articles being excluded for not meeting the inclusion criteria. The 100 most-cited articles rendered 42,480 citations on WoS-CC, ranging from 253 to 1744. Non-systematic review was the most published study type, mainly from North America, during the period of 1992 to 2002. The most frequent keywords were midazolam and pharmacokinetics. Regarding the authors, Thummel and Kunze were the ones with the greatest number of papers included. Our findings showed the global research trends about midazolam, mainly related to its different effects and uses throughout the time.

      Importance: Ophthalmology-residency selection committees require robust metrics to review applicants. Participation in research activities is a core component of the application process for its perceived association with future academic productivity.Objective: To evaluate the correlation between the number of preresidency peer-reviewed publications (PPPs) and subsequent peer-reviewed publications or career choices of ophthalmology residency graduates.
    Design, Setting, and Participants: In this cross-sectional study, names of ophthalmology residency graduates were obtained. PubMed-indexed publication records were generated and publications were categorized as preresidency, intraresidency, and postresidency. First author and journal publications with an impact factor (IF) score of 3 or more were recorded. Current academic and community-based career statuses were designated. Names were obtained from cohort and alumni lists on residency program websites or by emailing program directors. Participants included US Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education-accredited ophthalmology residency graduates from 2013 to 2016.
    Main Outcomes and Measures: The primary outcome measure was association of PPPs with later publications, first authorship, and journal publications with an IF score of 3 or more. The secondary outcome measure was difference in characteristics associated with academic vs community-based ophthalmologist.
    Results: A total of 964 ophthalmologists (52% of graduates) were studied and most (85.5%) had PubMed-indexed publications. First authorship (ρ = 0.71; 95% CI, 0.67-0.74; P < .001) had a strong positive correlation with intraresidency publications, while journal publications with an IF score of 3 or more (ρ = 0.56; 95% CI, 0.51-0.60; P < .001) and PPPs (ρ = 0.38; 95% CI, 0.32-0.43; P < .001) had moderate and weak positive correlations, respectively. For postresidency publications, journal publications with an IF score of 3 or more (ρ = 0.86; 95% CI, 0.84-0.87; P < .001) had the strongest positive correlation followed by first authorship (ρ = 0.77; 95% CI, 0.74-0.79; P < .001) and PPPs (ρ = 0.26; 95% CI, 0.20-0.31; P < .001). Preresidency (t = 3.3; P = .001), intraresidency (t = 4.1; P < .001), postresidency (t = 7.5; P < .001), first author (t = 6.6; P < .001), and journal publications with an IF score of 3 or more (t = 5.9; P < .001) were greater for academic ophthalmologists compared with community-based ophthalmologists.
    Conclusions and Relevance: Preresidency publication history is at least weakly correlated with future publications or work in an academic setting among ophthalmologists. Multiple factors associated with academic productivity were evaluated; however, adjustment for multiple analyses was not done and further testing is required to prove whether these factors are predictive.

      Micro RNA (miRNA) research has great implications in uncovering the aetiology of neuropsychiatric conditions due to the role of miRNA in brain development and function. Schizophrenia, a complex yet devastating neuropsychiatric disorder, is one such condition that had been extensively studied in the realm of miRNA. Although a relatively new field of research, this area of study has progressed sufficiently to warrant dozens of reviews summarising findings from past to present. However, as a majority of reviews cannot encapsulate the full body of research, there is still a need to synthesise the diversity of publications made in this area in a systematic but easy-to-understand manner. Therefore, this study adopted bibliometrics and scientometrics, specifically document co-citation analysis (DCA), to review the literature on miRNAs in the context of schizophrenia over the course of history. From a literature search on Scopus, 992 papers were found and analysed with CiteSpace. DCA analysis generated a network of 13 major clusters with different thematic focuses within the subject area. Finally, these clusters are qualitatively discussed. miRNA research has branched into schizophrenia, among other medical and psychiatric conditions, due to previous findings in other forms of non-coding RNA. With the rise of big data, bioinformatics analyses are increasingly common in this field of research. The future of research is projected to rely more heavily on interdisciplinary collaboration. Additionally, it can be expected that there will be more translational studies focusing on the application of these findings to the development of effective treatments.

      The objective of this research is to establish a better understanding of the current landscape of online learning research and development. Data were collected from the Web of Science (including SCI-EXPANDED, SSCI, and AHCI), which contains articles published from 2004 to 2022. A total of 25,382 pieces of data were collected. The data were visualized and analyzed using Citespace. The results show that the USA, China, and England are the main research countries in online learning; the Open University, Nanyang Technology University, and Monash University are the main research institutions; and Hwang Ggo-Jen, Huang Yueh-Min, and Chen Nian-Shing were the lead researchers. Major research topics in the field of online learning include MOOCs, flipped classrooms, COVID-19, computer-supported collaborative learning, the technology acceptance model, communities of inquiry, and distance learning. Meanwhile, each topic includes some classical literature. Computers & Education, Educational Technology Research and Development, the Internet, and Higher Education are three highly cited journals. Research hotspots mainly include three types of terms: student-related, learning-system-related, and teacher-related. Finally, we proposed further study ideas for future paths.

      In recent years, graphene aerogel (GA) has been widely used as a 3D porous stable network structure material. In order to identify the main research direction of GA, we use the bibliometric method to analyze its hot research fields and applications from the Web of Science database. First, we collected all relevant literature and analyzed its bibliometrics of publication year, country, institution, etc., where we found that China and Chinese Academy of Sciences are the most productive country and institute, respectively. Then, the three hot fields of fabrication, energy storage, and environmental protection are identified and thoroughly discussed. Graphene aerogel composite electrodes have achieved very efficient storage capacity and charge/discharge stability, especially in the field of electrochemical energy storage. Finally, the current challenges and the future development trends are presented in the conclusion. This paper provides a new perspective to explore and promote the related development of GA.

      Traffic collisions are incidents with high fatality rate which generate billions of US dollars of loss worldwide each year. Post-collision scene reconstruction, which involves knowledge of multiple disciplines, is an important approach to restore the traffic collision and infer the cause of it. This paper uses software CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and SciMAT to conduct a visualization study of knowledge mapping on the literature of traffic collision scene reconstruction from 2001 to 2021 based on the Web of Science database. Knowledge mapping is a cutting-edge research method in scientometric, which has been widely applied in medicine and informatics. Compared with traditional literature review, knowledge mapping with visual techniques identifies hot keywords and key literature in the field more scientifically, and displays them in schematic diagrams intuitively which allows to further predict potential hotspots. A total of 803 original papers are retrieved to analyze and discuss the evolution of the field in the past 20 years, from macro to micro, in term of background information, popular themes, and knowledge structure. Results indicate the number of publications in this field is limited, and collaborations among authors and among institutions are insufficient. In the meantime, mappings imply the top three hot themes being scene reconstruction, computer technology, and injuries. The introduction of AI related technologies, such as neural networks and genetic algorithms, into collision reconstruction would be a potential research direction.

      The field of telepractice is generating increasing interest in recent years. In recent years, early childhood services have used resources such as support for interventions in families with children with autism spectrum disorder. Due to this situation, the social validity of such resources has emerged in this sector, receiving individual attention from academics and practitioners. However, a further deepening of such analyses is needed. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to analyze papers published in the Web of Science on social validity and telepractice in autism spectrum disorders. Bibliometric analysis allows us to discover the current state of a research field, to identify the main authors, articles, and topics, and to propose future lines of research to develop it further. Articles published between 2000 and 2021 were analyzed quantitatively, and by co-occurrence of words and authors. Subsequently, through bibliographic linking, the articles were grouped into different clusters. Five central themes were found, with social skills and the effectiveness of intervention programs being the most developed areas of research. Furthermore, studies focusing on evidence-based practices are necessary for the development of this research field. Thus, the analysis of social validity in the field of telepractice in children with autism spectrum disorders is a developing field within the early childhood sector.

      BACKGROUND: Food hygiene is one of the specialized fields of environmental health, and despite the problems associated with foodborne illnesses, there is no evaluation available that would focus on specialized environmental health journals. The purpose of the present survey is a comparison of the status of food hygiene articles published in Iranian and international journals of environmental health.METHODS: This cross-sectional descriptive study was performed on all published articles in five Iranian environmental health journals and three international environmental health journals that are among the top 5% and 10% based on SNIP, emphasizing the issue of food. Our data were collected by searching relevant keywords in the articles published during the years (2008-2021), with emphasis on food hygiene. In the checklist, journal and articles information was collected by year of publication, a number of articles, information on authors' participation status in terms of number, gender, organizational affiliation, country and continents, and research centers according to authors' authorship. Statistical analysis of data was performed using descriptive and inferential statistical indices. VOSviewer software was also used to visualize the data.
    RESULTS: In Iranian environmental health journals, out of 2305 articles (7.3%) and out of 6898 articles in international environmental health journals (2.4%) dealt with food hygiene. Food hygiene articles were divided into seven categories, with the largest number of articles on aquatic and agricultural products each with a frequency of 48 articles. Articles related to heavy metals in food were provided by 30.81%. In this study, out of 150 articles, 15 articles were written with the participation of 30 authors from seven continents (Asia, America, and Europe), most of which were from Asia and India. In international environmental health journals, among the main research topics in articles related to food hygiene, the highest number (52.5%) was related to a determination about pollution such as heavy metal concentrations in food.
    CONCLUSIONS: Articles published in Iranian and international environmental health journals about food hygiene were limited. According to the increasing prevalence of foodborne illnesses, especially in recent decades, and the importance of paying attention to food hygiene, more targeted studies are needed.

      STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: Data on the level of evidence and the characteristics of studies published in peer-reviewed prosthodontic journals are lacking.PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics and level of evidence (LOE) scores of studies published in 3 leading peer-reviewed prosthodontic journals.
    MATERIAL AND METHODS: Clinical studies published in the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry (JPD), the Journal of Prosthodontics (JP), and the International Journal of Prosthodontics (IJP) in 2013 and 2020 were included in the analysis. Abstracts, letters to the editor, book reviews, and animal and laboratory studies were excluded from the investigation. For each study, design, type and LOE scores (Levels 1 to 5), publication year, impact factor (IF) of the journals, geographic origins of the first and corresponding authors, and funding status were recorded. Level 1 and Level 2 were defined as high evidence (HE), and Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5 were defined as low evidence (LE). Descriptive statistics and logistic regression analysis were performed (α=.05).
    RESULTS: Among the 439 studies included in the analysis, the proportion of HE and LE studies was 14.1% and 85.9%, respectively. According to univariate and multivariate analysis results, year of publication (P=.010 and P=.029), geographic origin of the corresponding author (P<.001), and funding status (P<.001 and P=.002) were significantly associated with the LOE of a study. However, the journal IF was not associated with LOE (P=.328).
    CONCLUSIONS: Although the number of HE studies in 3 leading prosthodontic journals has increased over time, the total number was still limited compared with LE studies. A further improvement in the overall LOE of clinical studies in prosthodontics is needed.

      Sentiment analysis, one of the research hotspots in the natural language processing field, has attracted the attention of researchers, and research papers on the field are increasingly published. Many literature reviews on sentiment analysis involving techniques, methods, and applications have been produced using different survey methodologies and tools, but there has not been a survey dedicated to the evolution of research methods and topics of sentiment analysis. There have also been few survey works leveraging keyword co-occurrence on sentiment analysis. Therefore, this study presents a survey of sentiment analysis focusing on the evolution of research methods and topics. It incorporates keyword co-occurrence analysis with a community detection algorithm. This survey not only compares and analyzes the connections between research methods and topics over the past two decades but also uncovers the hotspots and trends over time, thus providing guidance for researchers. Furthermore, this paper presents broad practical insights into the methods and topics of sentiment analysis, while also identifying technical directions, limitations, and future work.

      The Indian Ocean (IO) continental shelf characterized by unique oceanographic and meteorological features and extreme habitat is a biodiversity hotspot region. Marine biodiversity provides valuable resources and services, in terms of economy, cultural, science, and education. Unsustainable exploitation and habitat degradation represent the greatest threat to biodiversity. Understanding how these services will change in the future requires knowledge of marine biodiversity. Although macrofaunal biodiversity is critical for the functioning of shelf systems, it has received much less attention, particularly in the IO, mainly due to logistics reasons precluding our ability to predict future changes. Here, we discuss the state of knowledge of macrofaunal ecology, to identify the knowledge gaps, which will allow for setting research priorities. The new framework in research synthesis, research weaving, that combines systematic mapping with bibliometric analysis was applied. The research weaving approach helps illustrate the evolution of research over time and identifies areas of current research interests and the performance of institutions and collaboration patterns. Data retrieved from the Web of Science were analyzed in the R and VOS Viewer software. The results highlight how macrofaunal research in IO is constrained by spatial and temporal scales, with the majority of studies focused on structural patterns. Moreover, most studies were conducted in a few countries (India, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and South Africa) using different sampling techniques hindering comparison within the IO habitats. Future studies investigating the macrofaunal community using a multidisciplinary approach and scientific collaboration (regional and international) can advance our efforts to close the marine biodiversity knowledge gaps.

      This systematic review aims to evaluate gender differences in authorship of prevalence literature concerning intimate partner violence (IPV) during pregnancy and gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). GDM studies were matched for publication year and study country as a gender-neutral obstetric disease with similar morbidity to IPV. Relevant studies were captured without language restrictions via online searches of PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science from database inception to January 2022. Proportion of female authors and gender of the first and corresponding author were outcome measures. Multivariable regression models were built to examine if female authors featured more or less often in IPV during pregnancy and GDM literature adjusting by the influence of type of study, country's human development index (HDI), year of publication and journal's impact factor. 137 IPV-GDM studies pairs were included. Female authors in IPV studies were slightly lower than in GDM [59.7%, 95% CI 54.7-64.7, vs. 54.9%, 95% CI 50.7-59.1, p = 0.204]. Studies published in high-income countries were more likely to be signed by a woman as first and corresponding author (Odds Ratio 2.22, 95% CI 1.20; 4.11, p = 0.011 and Odds Ratio 2.24, CI 1.22; 4.10, p = 0.009 respectively) and proportion of women as corresponding authors decreased as the journal impact factor increased (β = 0.62, 95% CI 0.37, 1.05, p = 0.075). There is a gender gap in the field of prevalence research in IPV during pregnancy with variations according to the level of development. International programs aimed at eradicating these inequalities are needed.

      Rural areas play an important role in global sustainable development. In recent years, however, rural development has experienced global crises, such as issues in public education, health care, roads, water and sanitation, along with environmental pollution and a lack of natural resources. It is therefore important to promote rural revitalization in the process of modernization. To objectively reveal the current research status in the field of rural revitalization, we analyzed relevant publications in the Web of Science from 1991 to 2021. The results are as follows: (1) In the past 30 years, the number of publications on rural vitalization has increased, and the period from 1991 to 2021 can be divided into three stages, the initial period (1991-2004), the development period (2005-2016), and the high-yield period (2017-2021). (2) Research on rural revitalization covered 60 countries or regions around the world, involving a total of 3099 authors. China, the United States, and Canada published most of the articles. (3) High-frequency keywords were migration, management, and urbanization, indicating that scientists considered the role of sustainable urban and rural development, policy formulation, and urbanization. We highlight that for the development of the field of rural vitalization, scientists need to further strengthen theoretical research, fully absorb the development achievements of advanced countries and regions, understand the laws and trends of urban and rural development in their own countries, and explore new paths to achieve rural vitalization.

      Background: Recent events like the global pandemic and geopolitics leading to war bring to bear the evergreen importance of psychological well-being (PWB) among workers and how it can further influence business growth and performance. Furthermore, the complexity of today's job requirements has created enormous life pressures for individuals, negatively hurting their PWB.Method: This article took the format of a literature review of existing research work by pursuing the keywords in the SCOPUS database to retrieve the articles published on PWB in the field of business and economics from 1978 to 2022. The data were analyzed to elaborate, interpret and graphically display the results, in particular, authors, sources, documents, and social structure of the existing bibliography. The Bibliometrix R package is used for robust analysis of retrieved data.
    Results: The findings showed that the last decade saw a rise in scholarly work on PWB. However, in 2021, its sharp expansion stalled. It further revealed that academics from four countries had a significant role in accessing PWB in the business and economics fields, namely the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. The reports also indicate themes such as mental health, coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and depression are emerging themes, whereas niche themes include unemployment, quality of life, and job loss.
    Conclusion: This study suggests these new areas be studied in contemporary literature to provide cogent room to improve policy decisions on PWB within the business world.

      Here, we investigate the evolution of scientific literature on the Goliath grouper (Epinephelus itajara), the largest grouper species in the Atlantic. This species was considered threatened according to the IUCN for nearly three decades due to overfishing and has been protected from fishing in a large part of its range. For the purpose of evaluating the scientific production on an endangered species banned from fishing, we present a scientometry and synthesis review analyzing the literature produced in the timeline and their studies content. To this end, we set up an almost 60-year literary database through the Scopus, Web of Science and Google Academic platforms. We analyze the publication and knowledge area patterns over the time in the world and in Brazil. We also feature the main areas, locations, ecosystems and types of those researches and briefly describing the main records found in each decade. An increase in the number of publications was observed from the 1990s onwards worldwide, and particularly in Brazil from the 2000s, coinciding with the pioneering legislations for species protection. Most of the studies were classified within ecology and conservation and took place in countries that implemented moratoriums and had extensive areas of mangroves. Thus, fishing moratorium, classification as endangered, mangroves distribution and conservation all play a role in the studies distribution and contribute positively for the knowledge as well as supporting conservation strategies for the species and its ecosystems of occurrence.

      This study aimed to identify author, country, institutional, and journal collaborations and assess their impact, along with knowledge base, as well as identify existing trends, and uncover emerging topics related to matrix metalloproteinase and pancreatic-cancer research. A total of 1474 Articles and reviews were obtained from the Web of Science Core Collection and analyzed by Citespace and Vosviewer. CANCER RESEARCH, CLINICAL CANCER RESEARCH, and FRONTIERS IN IMMUNOLOGY are the most influential journals. The three main aspects of research in matrix metalloproteinases-pancreatic cancer-related fields included the pathogenesis mechanism of pancreatic cancer, how matrix metalloproteinases affect the metastasis of pancreatic cancer, and what role matrix metalloproteinases play in pancreatic cancer treatment. Tumor microenvironment, pancreatic stellate cells, drug resistance, and immune cells have recently emerged as research hot spots. In the future, exploring how immune cells affect matrix metalloproteinases and reshape the tumor microenvironment may be the key to curing pancreatic cancer. This study thus offers a comprehensive overview of the matrix metalloproteinases-pancreatic cancer-related field using bibliometrics and visual methods, providing a valuable reference for researchers interested in matrix metalloproteinases-pancreatic cancer.

      Understanding long-term dynamics is vitally important for explaining current biodiversity patterns and setting conservation goals in a changing world. However, the changes in biodiversity in time and space, particularly the dynamics at the centuries or even longer time scales, are poorly documented because of a lack of continuous monitoring data. The sedimentary DNA (sedDNA) has a great potential for paleo-community reconstruction, and it has recently been used as a powerful tool to characterize past dynamics in terms of biodiversity over geological timescales. In particular, it is useful for prokaryotes and eukaryotes that do not fossilize; hence, it is revolutionizing the scope of paleoecological research. Here, a "Research Weaving" method was performed with systematic maps and bibliometric webs based on the Web of Science for Science Citation Index Expanded, presenting a comprehensive landscape of the sedDNA that traces biological dynamics. We identified that most sedDNA-based studies have focused on microbial dynamics and on using samples from multitypes of sediments. This review summarized the advantages and common applications of sedDNA, focused on the biodiversity in microbial communities, and provided an outlook for the future of sedDNA research.

      Background. The Do-Live-Well (DLW) framework was first published in 2015 and aimed to fill a theoretical gap in the health promotion literature related to the links between occupational patterns and health. However, the extent of uptake and use of the framework since publication is unknown. Purpose. To explore and reflect on the adoption and application of DLW in the literature. Method. Citation content analysis of two seminal DLW publications was conducted from 2015 to November 2022 across six databases. Findings. Seventeen citations directly applied DLW to inform research (n = 10), practice (n = 5) and knowledge translation (n = 2). Implications. The findings highlight uptake of the framework in a range of settings, and how it can inform an occupation-based understanding of health and well-being. Ongoing knowledge dissemination, development of practice tools, and research to update evidence and examine relevance are needed to further advance the utility and application of the framework.

      The purpose of this article is to identify main research areas in health tourism in scientific research. The data used in this analysis span from 2000 to 2022, was retrieved from the Web of Science database, and comprises a total of 1493 bibliometric records of publications. The paper includes both a quantitative and a qualitative analysis. The following four main research areas were identified based on the results: (1) patient satisfaction built upon trust; (2) health impacts of the destination (including the economic aspect, which plays a decisive role in choosing a tourism destination); (3) health behavior as a major part of human activity; and (4) traveling with a view to regain one's health. Note that the limitations of this study-which mostly affect the methodological part-need to be taken into consideration. This is the consequence of the selected publication database and of the search criteria used, such as the publication year or language.

      The technological revolution has contributed to environmental and social issues around the world. However, in the context of higher education institutions (HEIs) - key stakeholders for sustainable development - there is a theoretical gap regarding systematic reviews on the topic. In order to address this need, this study explores how digital transformation (DT) can contribute to sustainability in HEIs by identifying the general state of the art, the theoretical perspectives in the field, and future research insights. A multi-methods approach was adopted, which consisted of a quantitative bibliometric review and a qualitative content analysis. Consistent with this approach, the Scopus database was used for the bibliometric analysis of 672 publications, which was conducted with the support of VOSviewer software. Subsequently, a content analysis of 72 publications was carried out using the software ATLAS.ti and Zotero. The findings suggest three areas of current research: ensuring sustainability competencies through DT, smart and sustainable campus approaches, and theorisation of sustainability in higher education through DT. The theoretical perspectives of the field were divided and discussed into seven main clusters. Lastly, five research lines for further studies on DT towards sustainability were identified. This study has both theoretical and practical implications since it may be the first literature review on this subject, providing theoretical insights to the academic community, guiding sustainability and digital practices in HEIs - through the identification of tools, approaches, and strategies - and then supporting the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

      BACKGROUND AND AIM: Earthquake is a natural disaster severely affecting the societies' health, hygiene, and welfare as such the most effective method to respond to its damages is to develop a readiness plan. This study aimed to discover thematic patterns and co-author relationships extracted from relevant publications to plan an earthquake response.MATERIALS AND METHODS: This descriptive-analytical study adopted the scientometric approach and used word co-occurrence and social network analysis. The published articles indexed in PubMed were retrieved from 1970 to 2021 using a combination of keywords "earthquake and response." The data were analyzed in VOSviewer, UCINET, and NetDraw software.
    RESULTS: The following six thematic clusters with a social map were extracted: Initial response of the healthcare system, response to probabilistic risks after the hazard, response to mental health and community resilience, response to public health, response to post-traumatic stress disorders, and staff's response to the needs assessment and continuity of diagnostic treatment services. Moreover, social network analysis revealed the great impact of Japanese and Chinese authors and institutes.
    CONCLUSION: The present study detected many gaps in the literature on earthquake response, which can contribute to developing a general framework to prepare integrated healthcare earthquake response plans to promote the performance of this system.

      Simulations using virtual patients have been utilized as an effective method in nursing education. However, keyword network analyses and topic modeling on simulations using virtual patients in nursing education have not yet been performed. In this study, 213 articles were retrieved from online research article databases. Abstracts from these articles were extracted, and network analysis was conducted using NetMiner version 4.3 (Cyram Inc, Seongnam, South Korea). Based on the study's analysis, scenario, communication, system, assessment, person, disaster, and management were identified as the keywords with high centrality values. Therefore, they were determined to be influential in the network. After topic modeling, 10 topics were derived as dementia care competency, pain assessment, airway placement management, operating procedure, presence and satisfaction, communication and attitude improvement, platform world, disaster response, game and video usability, and system for confidence. The identified trends in this study will help grasp the trends and insight to guide future research directions on simulations using virtual patients in nursing education.

Cancer therapy has gained the advancement due to various pragmatic approaches with better treatment outcomes. The metal nanostructures such as gold and silver nanoparticles accessible via eco-friendly method provide amazing characteristics in the field of diagnosis and therapy towards cancer diseases. The environmental friendly approach has been proposed as a substitute to minimize the use of hazardous compounds associated in chemical synthesis of nanoparticles. In this attempt, researchers have used various microbes, and plant-based agents as reducing agents. In the last 2 decades various papers have been published emphasizing the benefits of the eco-friendly approach and advantages over the traditional method in the cancer therapy. Despite of various reports and published research papers, eco-based nanoparticles do not seem to find a way to clinical translation for cancer treatment. Present review enumerates the bibliometric data on biogenic silver and gold nanoparticles from Clarivate Analytics Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus for the duration 2010 to 2022 for cancer treatment with a special emphasis on breast, ovarian and cervical cancer. Furthermore, this review covers the recent advances in this area of research and also highlights the obstacles in the journey of biogenic nanodrug from clinic to market.

      BACKGROUND: It has been established that identity of the trial leadership plays a role in the conduct of the trial. An estimation of the gender composition of RCT leadership in India has not been undertaken. We performed this study to quantify the gender composition of first authors of RCTs published from India for the years 2011 to 2020.METHODS: PubMed database was searched using the keyword "randomized controlled trial". We included studies that were classified as a RCT, had a first author affiliation that belonged to India and were published online between 1st January 2011 to 31st December 2020. The gender of the first authors was determined using Gender-API and manually.
    RESULTS: Out of the total 4136 RCTs included in our study, the gender of 4056 (98%) first authors were identified. Of the 4056 first authors, 1198 (30%) were women and 2858 (70%) were men. The mean (SD) percentage of yearly distribution of women and men as first authors was 29.53(2.23) and 70.46(2.23), respectively. We did not find any significant change in gender distribution of first authors over the course of ten years [P = 0.78].
    CONCLUSION: The persistence of gender disparity in the leadership of RCTs from India demands greater efforts towards inclusion of women as leaders of clinical trials.

      OBJECTIVES: We aimed to determine (1) the proportion of women authors overall, in first (lead) and last (senior) author positions, (2) the proportion of women research participants and (3) the association between women in first and/or last author positions and the proportion of women research participants in original research articles and editorials/opinion pieces in four sport and exercise medicine/physiotherapy journals.METHODS: The journals evaluated were the British Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy, Physical Therapy in Sport and International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy.We reviewed all original research articles and editorials/opinion pieces published in 2008, 2009, 2018 and 2019. For each, we aimed to determine the gender/sex of all authors (through gender pronouns, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, institutional profiles, personal websites, photographs and/or social media), and the gender/sex of study participants reported as 'female' or 'male' or 'women' or 'men' or 'girls' or 'boys'.
    RESULTS: We included 952 original studies and 219 editorials/opinion pieces. There were 5146 authors of original studies and 706 authors of editorials/opinion pieces. Compared with 2008/2009, the proportion of women as first and last authors was 3.6% (33.0% compared with 29.4%) and 4.8% (33.2% compared with 27.4%) higher respectively in 2018/2019. On average, the proportion of women participants in original studies remained largely unchanged over the 10-year period, only 10% of all participants were women in studies.
    CONCLUSION: Women are strikingly under-represented in first and last author positions, as are women participants in sports and exercise medicine/physiotherapy journals.
